Very pleased with the professionalism of this company. Nome came and took meaurements and talk to us about the options. We were sent the price. They scheduled it the following week. They isolated/sealed off the work area. The old insulation was removed, they sanitized the attic, sealed air gaps and placed the new insulation. Some areas were pretty tight. After all was done, Nome went into the attic to verify the work and to assure that the air gaps were done. He also made sure that the old vent duct boots were secure and repaired a couple of them. I have been very busy and haven't had a chance to go into the attic, but will at some point. Overall, I am very satisfied with what this company has done and how detailed Nome was to assure the work was done right. We hired E&E after getting five estimates to have our old attic insulation removed, the attic cleaned, and new loose-fill fiberglass insulation and a radiant barrier installed. Joseph from E&E gave us a very competitive quote, so we decided to move forward with them. They began work promptly the following Tuesday and started by removing all the old insulation. Unfortunately, we experienced our first issue during this phase. The industrial suction/blower became loose and began blowing contaminated debris, including what appeared to be rodent droppings, into the air around the side and front of our home. None of the workers were monitoring the equipment, as they were all in the attic. I had to alert them to the issue myself. The debris ended up in our front yard pond, which was now filled with pink fiberglass and soot. On a positive note, they did a thorough job cleaning the attic and sealing small openings before installing the radiant barrier and blowing in new insulation. However, I was disappointed that the radiant barrier was only applied to the roof and not the side walls. I had expected the walls to be covered as well, especially since morning and evening sun can significantly heat the attic through the sides. When I brought this up, I was told that applying the barrier to the roof alone is standard practice. Additionally, I noticed the workers were manually breaking up the fiberglass next to the blower, which seemed inefficient and resulted in uneven distribution. I had anticipated they would use a more professional hopper system for a more uniform application. The project took about two and a half days to complete, but a couple of issues emerged afterward. First, they did not cover the recessed can lights, which caused insulation to fall through them. Second, insulation began entering the room that houses our furnace. Joseph did offer a discount when requesting the final payment, and a crew member returned a week later to fix these issues. However, one more serious problem came up--our outdoor plastic shed, located near the suction/blower machine, was partially melted from the heat of the gasoline-powered motor. I sent photos to E&E, and they promised to reimburse us for part of the cost of the shed. Despite multiple follow-ups, we never received any compensation. In summary, I believe E&E has good intentions, but their execution lacked professionalism. There was no on-site supervisor or project manager overseeing the work, which I believe contributed to the problems we experienced. Because of the multiple issues and the unresolved shed damage, I would not choose to work with E&E again. read more

Doesn't send the estimates! Wasted my time with an appointment and never sent the estimate after multiple promises and follow ups. What's the point of a consultation if you don't send the estimate? Says they were moving offices and computers were down. When? You never once mentioned you were moving after me asking twice for an estimate. I don't need this headache or my time wasted.
