This company offers laundry service for colleges. I think they make lots of great promises but then really do not deliver. They use large commercial washers to so the basic service doesn't include anything you can't wash in one of those major washers even though you could wash it in your washer at home. So anything that says "tumble dry low" or anything like that will result in an upcharge that will be more than if you had just sent it to a local cleaner in the first place. Your basic plan will cover real heavy duty things like underwear, t-shirts and sweats. Anything else will get you nickeled and dimed. Avoid. read more

Coin op in the dorm is way less hassle for your student. Buyer beware. Signed up my kid who was doing pre-college summer program with pre-paid fee for laundry. Once on campus we learned the laundry takes nearly a week to turn around. So we cancelled but their fine print has 10 day cancellation before the program starts. They just took all the money. I would give 0 stars if possible. I'm a student and learned that laundry in the dorms was free and straightforward. I called and emailed several times to cancel my service and get a refund since I did not start using the laundry service or the linen rental yet. However, the people handling customer service were difficult, rude, and extremely unprofessional. I do not recommend using them at all. If you have any questions about doing laundry, just ask your advisor or dorm head. My friends that use the laundry service tell me they run out of clothes to wear because of how long the laundry service takes. Laundry is often lost or late. It's really not worth your money :/ I'm so upset with my experience that I'm writing my first ever Yelp review, so you don't waste your time or money. From the perspective of a student who has used it for this past school year, I can assert that E&R is not worth the time, money, or headache. The company would repeatedly have weeks without service, with little or no warning, leaving students and residential services scrambling for solutions, they would lose clothing and not take responsibility, and they would charge you randomly for violating hidden rules and policies. My daughter is a student at Kent School and there are no laundry facilities on campus so you are forced to sign up with this company. We signed up for a Basic Plan . None of her clothes are dry clean only or require extra care . I had read the numerous poor reviews and Better Business Complaints regarding E and R, but we had no choice but to utilize this company . She is there two weeks and already E and R is billing us extra for laundry service . Sent an email and never received any voucher of what the extra charges were for and called and was told they decide based on the label how to wash the clothes . I think it cost more to wash the shirt then what I actually paid for it. If you are voluntarily thinking of utilizing this company, DON'T. Then when you complain about the unnecessary charges , their solution is for you to pay even more money to "upgrade" your plan . read more

No understanding from the company at all since my son did not use the service and was having difficulties at school. They don't care. Family run? I doubt it. DO NOT SIGN UP!!!! the service they offer is extremely misleading. Your clothes will end up ruined and they do not care. The excuse is that they are a Commercial facility so their dryers are far hotter than even a laundromat. But yet they advertise gentle care and mesh bags for delicates and under garments. The 30 day cancellation policy is also not helpful and misleading. My daughter did not use the laundry service the first week that she was there, but because they started offering it before her move in date (staggered student arrivals) her 30 days was up before she even got her first load back. I even just asked for 50% back and they refused. One load of laundry cost me $1100 and I had to replace the items that were shrunk and damaged. So really it was more than $1300 for one load. This is a follow up of what happened to my daughter's campus cleaning service. They explained me the following: Because they are commercial laundry service and they use extreme high heat, most of clothes could be damaged, therefore at the company's discretion, they do dry clean items which deemed necessary, and this was in the fine print of the contract. I was shocked to see the items they dry cleaned - three UNICLO shirts which cost less than $10 each and two UNICLO pants (equally cheap) and one sweatshirts. We had photos of all items which should not be dry cleaned. After all exchanges of photos and emails and long conversations with their customer service and account department, Mr Decker promised to remove all extra charges, which to me were clear errors (who does dry clean UNICLO items? And this was never done at our request. This is very unreasonable as customers must accept any extra charges which they never requested and done by the company at their discretion without even contacted the customer. From September I never ever received any bills from the company except upfront payment of basic service for 9 months. Today 3 February 2020 I received the bill first time from them indicating $56.87 which were done by error and already agreed to be removed. They stopped the HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT in order to avoid such problems. So now they Can charge whatever they want on top of agreed services and you can't contest even you feel it was clearly their error. PLEASE DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE, UNLESS YOU Don't care how much extra charges you will have each month. Their customer care is terrible, they promised to remove all extra charges which done by error, then still sending a bill. I hope schools revisit their contracts and remove them or at least have several vendors for healthy competition. I am going to raise this to my daughter's school authority, the State Consumer Affairs, and all possible entities to stop their scam. read more

I tried E&R twice just to make sure it wasn't just a one-time thing. My clothes come back looking worse than when I dropped them off. I recently had 8 men's dress shirts and 4 dress pants done. The shirts were boxed for an extra fee as I travel quite a bit. I just couldn't believe what I got back. Not even packed in a suitcase or anything ... straight out of the E&R bag they looked like they had been tossed in a pile and then folded and given to me. See picks! We had dry cleaning last year for my son at college. We were charged to dry clean khaki pants that are clearly labeled washable. When I called to get a refund, I was told that I could get a credit towards service this year, but no refund. We signed up for campus drycleaning and prepaid. This year, we can not get any information about pickup / delivery dates or getting a bag. Tried calling customer service, but no-one picks up and the mailbox is full. The location is very convenient to my home so I thought I would check it out when I moved to the area. Everyone greets me with a smile and checks in my clothes promptly. I've had a similar experience as Miki, below. I'd used E&R very happily for a few years, until they discontinued their "Hold Harmless Agreement." I was always happy to sign: my kids have inexpensive clothing that says on the label to dry clean, or items (like soccer jerseys) bought outside of the country that I certainly don't want to pay to dry clean; so I said normal washing was fine for everything, and if something was ruined, so be it. I can tell you that nothing was ruined in 3-4 years of using them. Once they no longer offered the "Hold Harmless Agreement," the bills for extra charges started coming. Before school started this year, we ripped out all the tags that said to dry clean, hoping to avoid this -- and now they're dry cleaning clothing without tags! We use the campus laundry and dry cleaners that E&R provides to colleges that are out of state. The stuff barely gets cleaned and smells almost as bad as when it left. They are incapable of getting any stains out of laundry or dry cleaning. The clothing is barely folded, the socks are not paired, and the slacks come back more wrinkled than a 90 year old's face. Unfortunately, we are stuck. My son's schedule doesn't allow for much laundry and there is no way for him to get things dry cleaned on campus. I had asked that, at the least, to hang up the colored jeans. No luck. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. We lost 2 pairs of shorts, took two weeks to find them, and I had to keep calling Ana because no one calls back. Back in February, dry-cleaning that wasn't ours was dropped off at our house. I notified E & R and was told my account would be credited (as I was charged for the items in error). A few weeks later I received my monthly bill and the credit wasn't on my account. I called and talked to Donna and she apologized that it wasn't taken care of, (it was an oversight on her part) and would apply the credit to the next billing cycle, but in the meantime to deduct the $18.45 of the current bill (which was the cost of the incorrect dry-cleaning left). I deducted the $18.45 from the Total Balance of $80.43 ( so I paid my bill in full $61.98). which means my next bill would have "Previous Balance" of $61.98. But credit wasn't deducted and "Previous Balance" showed $80.43. I gave E and R months to take ownership of the mistake and save the relationship but that hasn't happened. The wonderful individual who drops and picks up our dry cleaning at our house (who's a driver for E & R) recognized the error and paid out of pocket (the $18.45) for their mistake. This is totally unacceptable in my mind that E & R wouldn't take care of their error. Very disappointed that after 11 years as a customer, I'm treated like this and obviously E & R doesn't value it's customers. I've since switched to a new dry cleaner. read more

Only a few weeks into the school year, they have lost tons of my daughter's laundry, including a full set of bedding and two very expensive cashmere sweaters. Her roommates have had the exact same experience. (One does have to wonder about theft and about how diligently they screen their employees.) How is it possible that a laundry service is so disorganised? Isn't a principal part of their job to track and return belongings? My clothes returned looking like they weren't cleaned, they came back looking as if I had paid them to dirty and ruin my clothes. Just got off the phone with Mr. Decker, the CFO. This company is horrible. I never received any bill from this company, but then out of nowhere received a notice of collections. Turns out they were billing the school for egregious amounts in excess of the sum of the plan I signed up for. Now, I'm told that statements were lost, etc. I would have never signed on with this company nor would we have recommended to others if we were ever made aware of what the actual bill was. Don't use this dry cleaner! My son has been having a lot of problem with them, like missing laundry, returning at a different campus and shrinking shirts. His t-shirts are too wrinkles, so he needs to iron or steam every single t-shirts. By the way, he has Look Sharp plan! After leaving messages they never call me back or email back! This is the worst. Every time I put leggings into the service, they disappear. Not just once- every time. I am so frustrated and angry. As a boarding school student, I need to be able to have my clothes washed. This service is ridiculously poor. I cannot trust them to wash my bras, nice clothes, or leggings anymore because, even though I have paid for the dry cleaning service, they are always ruined or lost. It would be great if my expensive clothing was being reliably cleaned, but it's not. My jeans had unexplainable bleach stains on them. I am very upset. Stay away. If you choose the BASIC SERVICE, they will try and bill you on the back end for washing cotton clothes. If you absolutely must take the service, make sure you ask for the HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT and sign that up front. They are really scammers. My son used this service for his first semester at college in Boston. As he wasn't the best at laundry, I thought it was worth a try even though I did find it expensive. He found that his clothes were not cleaned very well and that everything was creased. I paid for the premium service so was unhappy to hear that. The Customer Service is unresponsive--no return to an email and not very helpful when you call. I strongly advise parents not to make the same mistake I did. Next year, he will be doing his own laundry. I don't think anyone should waste their money on this company and I wish the school had never forwarded any promotional materials from them. read more

This place is a total joke. Employees work so hard but get zero respect. The plant manager and assistant plant manager are extremely rude. Witnessed plant manager get into a supervisors face. They asked for an obituary for my mother who passed away because they didn't believe me. People are expected to work 14 and 15 hour days. If you leave before then, you are told that there will be "consequences". So many people leave there crying because of upper management. Oh yea... and they throw clothes away. My son attends a school in New Hampshire and living in Pa we thought it would be helpful to have a laundry service take care of his laundry to give him more time to study. After a drop off he went to pick ups his laundry and notice even though he had his bag, with a couple pairs of pant, several expensive shirts and a sweater his girlfriend gave him for Christmas never were missing. They originally claimed our son never dropped his laundry off although they admitted his bag was retuned.??? E&R Cleaners washes the uniforms at my office and last week I was given a flyer by their rep, John, for a discounted price for my winter coats to be cleaned. First of all, the deal was ending before I was able get my jackets to John, as I was in the midst of moving. John was more than happy to honor my discounted price, which was a pleasant and much appreciated surprise. Second of all, the 5 winter coats I had cleaned looked MARVELOUS and third, they went out of their way to replace a button on one of the coats without any extra charge or without my asking! I appreciate their willingness to go above and beyond and would recommend this company to anyone who is looking to get their dry-cleaning done quickly, effectively, thoroughly, inexpensively, and by a thoughtful and friendly staff. read more

I worked in the Campus Laundry department and I will tell you now, no one cares about your clothes! The women who fold your clothes are required to do 9.5 bags a hour or they will be fired. This is also were they make their money, the more bags they do the more money they make. So you are a fool if you think they care about what your clothes look like more than their own jobs and money. They are doing up to 2000 bags a day, working between 10-12 hour days so they are rushing through these bags just so they can make their 9.5 which is required. They are told from the start to 'just throw them in there' and to try and Smooth out the wrinkles with your hands before sending them to press and they try to blame the machinery for the wrinkles yet it's the girls just trowing stuff in to get their 9.5. There are little bar codes on certain garments that need to be dry cleaned, and they are suppose to look for these and send them to dry cleaning when they see them, but that never happened once since I worked there, everyday Id get clothes sent to me in press that were suppose to be dry cleaned but never are! Every single day there were clothes gone missing because the girls are rushing to get out of there that they don't check their stations for dropped clothes or the clothes are ruined from the dryer, every single day. After the clothes are folded the bags get tossed around like basket balls because no one cares! There was two woman that actually did care and took the time to do it right but got fired because they were too slow. I started out folding then got promoted to pressing and was told with a raise. I did pressing for 5 weeks without a pay raise and brought it up to the supervisor Paula who looked into it and came back to tell me no raise and asked who told me I was getting one, surprised she would even ask that I told her, 'you told me' and she said ' no not me, you never heard that from me, I never said that' when in fact she did, several times actually but just lied to my face about it. Not only that but she yelled at me to use machinery that I told her not once but twice I didn't feel safe using, but had to anyway, I'm pretty sure that is illegal. The women who fold are great hard working woman but they are pressured to do 9.5 bags an hour no matter what or they lose their jobs. After working for this company I know that clothes end up on the floor after they're washed, if the forget to put something of yours in your bag they give it to the next bag that comes along. People steal things from bags and put wet and wrinkled clothes back in your bag. read more

Terrible experience with E&R after being a customer for 15 years and never complaining about their service. They laundered instead of dry cleaned a new pair of pants that had been worn just a few times. The pants shrunk and the belt loops got torn and they were completely unwearable. After their "analysis" which took 3 months, they determined that "the pants had been laundered and that every time they had them they were dry cleaned". Well duh, yes they had been laundered by them!!! and that was the very first time the pants had ever been there for cleaning. They tried to blame me for laundering them. I am disgusted. This company is a disgrace to the community. The laundered two of my wife's cashmere sweaters and ruined them. The store agreed to their mistake, yet corporate refuses to make good on their obvious error. Despite repeated calls to their corporate offices, no calls have been returned. The ongoing story, when called, has been "we need to send it to a lab to determine what happened." Huh? You already admitted to what happened, yet won't make good on your error. Two weeks has gone by and now the new story is "we don't know what happened" and NO, you cannot have the name of the General Manager.
