This is a review of work I had done several years ago. Simply put, I deeply regret hiring this contractor for my window and door project. My initial conversations with Colin were pleasant -- he said all the right things. The problem was the quality, or lack thereof, of the work performed. I had assumed I got the B team but based on the comments here, it seems this is the work one should expect. Several of the windows leaked. The door installation was a complete disaster with hammer marks left all over the trim. To top it off, on several occasions, I smelled marijuana while the installers were working on my home. The worst experience we have had. The owner and his crew do not include finish work in the price. Total lack of communication, showing up at home unannounced, several calls made to get the job completed. The indows are great on the inside, an embarrassment on the outside and 2 of the 8 windows leaked after this last storm. Make sure you get a "detailed" account of what your money is getting you. We had a dozen windows installed about three years ago and they have been nothing but trouble. We were upsold their in house brand with them claiming it would be cheaper and of equal quality. Initial installation was shoddy with installer using caulking (NO NAILS) to hold on trim pieces to the point where it pushed out of the sides. They also used thin strips of fiberglass insulation around the windows instead of spray foam. When I asked; they assured me that would be adequate. A cold breezy night with a chilling breeze coming in from around the windows proved them wrong. One window had debris in-between the panes and several locking mechanisms had stripped screws to the point where you could rattle the latches by hand. They initially fixed these two issues. Then about a year in I tipped in one of the windows to clean and one of the shoes (the pivot point) broke. The repair person they sent was rude and basically accused me of not tilting the window in properly. He then proceeded to tilt in a window and break another shoe himself; begrudgingly admitting they must have been defective. Since then I have had two more broken shoes, and the vinyl has started to separate from one window. Support has now ghosted me leading to this review. I would strongly recommend avoiding this company. Go with an licensed brand installer (Anderson, Pella, Harvey, etc.). I learned the hard way it's worth the extra money. read more

We're two seniors, and Colin and his crew made the whole scary process of replacing all our over-sized 70-year old aluminum windows a reality. The crew worked great as a team, were very polite, and always ready to answer a question or respond to a request. The finish carpenters were friendly, competent guys. Our house looks like a million bucks but the final cost was way below that. Everyone at EB made a dream come true with their confidence, caring, and competence. I was praising EB Windows for their amazing service and holding to their word. Their Initial install was fast and the people were great. I Even sent people looking for windows to them. But I don't think I can do that anymore. It's a real shame. I got windows put in 3 years ago and was told by the rep "if anything happens we will replace them anytime while you are in the house. We will always take care of you." I guess they decided to change that policy and are leaving a customer in the wind. We have a broken window, these things happen. I called them in April about the window and they said they would look into it. After a month I called again and was told it's not their problem and to call the factory. After dealing with the factory they said we are not covered. After some time, their people took care of it. We are very happy with the windows, but worried in the future if something else goes wrong. read more

I tried on 3 separate occasions to get a quote for a job with EB Window since one of my neighbors had used them. The first time, I had an immediate initial response via email then nothing after my several follow ups. I also tried using the online form on their webpage but no response. Finally, again I tried through yelp and was contacted via phone and arranged for a time to meet but they never showed up and never called. Since they can't bother to have an initial consult, I would be worried for their communication during a job. read more

Very disappointed at the brush off I just received over the phone. We are in the process of remodeling my fiancé house and were calling to get an estimate on replacing a bay window. We were also interested in possibly getting a quote for residing the house in the spring since they did an amazing job next door to where I currently live, but i couldnt get that far. I asked if someone was available for a quote on the window in the next couple of days and thats where the brush off came. I was asked what's the address and than he just said, plan on $6000 and that it couldn't be done until the new year. $6000 without looking at it or at least trying to book an appointment to look at it in the future. They did not stand behind their product. I called after getting 5 windows less than 1 year later, one window would not stay up. Colin told me to call the manufacturer. I did and they sent me parts. What do I know about parts? The manufacturer told me to call EB they wouldn't fix it. Gave me the name of a guy who could fix it and I was charged to have the window fixed. read more

EB Window and Siding did a great job on our siding, trim and windows. Our house is old (130 years old) and near the water so it gets a lot of weather. When we first moved we thought the exterior was fine but when a two year old layer of paint (put on by the last owners right before we bought) started peeling off in huge chunks and a few windows started leaking we knew we had problems. To start, we didn't know where the problem(s) were... was it the roof? fascia? soffits? siding? windows? all the above? We decided ourselves to redo everything and set out to find a top-notch contractor we could really rely on. We interviewed contractors all over MA and ultimately chose EB Windows. The job came in on budget and the craftsmanship was exceptional. When they started stripping the house the extent of the water damage underneath the siding and trim became clear. Steve and Rick easily spent an extra month replacing boards and rebuilding the structures below the exterior so the trim could be installed properly. It was tons of extra work and they approached it with pride and professionalism; it was like they were working on their own home. The job went long because of the water damage but EB came through big. That they came through on-budget and with top-notch quality, given the circumstances, is even more impressive considering their price was so reasonable to start with. read more

We felt everyone was pleasant to speak to over the phone, but over the course of the entire process, we felt one representative was very accurate about the process, while another rep was very dismissive and vague. This was our first experience replacing windows and, in hindsight, I felt there could have been more discussion about the process and our options. When someone came to measure, they were gruff and made some unsolicited opinions about whether or not our job should qualify for MassSaves (we were in constant contact with a MassSaves associate throughout the process and they thoroughly assured us this job qualified, which we told E.B Windows). They did a beautiful job installing our basement windows and left the area completely clean. But no one asked if we wanted the original wood window frames wrapped in aluminum- they just went ahead and did it. It looks good but now our basement window frames don't match the rest of the house. Not gonna lose sleep over it but still kinda annoying. read more

These guys are awesome. Great prices, great customer service and very knowledgable! After much research on our options to replace odd-sized windows in a circa 1873 home, we found E B Window and Siding Co. Went in on a Sat. morning, asked about the size and she knew exactly what we were looking for. We ordered 6 windows on the spot. Earlier in the year, we replaced one window with some help/advice from home depot and the window didn't fit correctly. In addition, after only 6 months, it failed, with the glass separating from the casing. All of the windows from E B Window and Siding Co. fit perfectly. All six went in in an afternoon! Not only is it a score to have a home improvement project go off without a hitch (cause they never do) its a total bonus to do business with a longtime, local established business. Hired them to install windows in an apartment blding I own. Price was fair and work done quickly and well. I also had some repairs needed in some other apts (maybe an afternoon job) and asked them to do them with the bigger job. They can and measured etc and said they would do the repairs Two years later and several calls later after saying they will do the work they never have Big jobs hire them but small jobs even with the bigger ones for repeat customers they can't seem to be bothered? I'm going to come right out and say it, there simply aren't enough positive things to say about EB. Many times when I review businesses there are certain elements to the service that I would consider 5 star, but then some that may be 4's or 3's. Not with EB. Everything from start to finish was incredibly professional, fair, and done with excellence. I needed some aluminum trim for my windows and the sides of my home sealed up. Not an enormous job but big enough. For starters, they answered their phone. I know that sounds funny, but you'd be amazed how difficult it is to get anyone in the construction/contracting field to even acknowledge your presence, much less care about your issue. The ladies in the office were incredibly nice and friendly, and treated me as if they wanted my business, and not just another annoying customer they had to deal with. They scheduled an estimate right away. Then came Colin to do the estimate. We only had a brief exchange but he's so personable and friendly, I felt like we had been friends for a while. He gave it to me straight, which I appreciate, and the quote turned out to be less than I thought. After a return visit, it turns out one of the sides of my home was in worse shape than we originally thought, and it turned into a bigger job, which of course, meant more $$. Again, Colin was direct about the issue, but I could tell he also felt bad about delivering the news to me. It wasn't his fault I moved into an old house, but he handled the situation with care, which made a huge difference in how I reacted. We went ahead with everything and within a couple of weeks, the guys showed up to do the work. The whole job lasted 3 days in the hottest part of the summer. Poor guys! I work from home so I was with them the entire time, and again, it was if I had known them for a while. They were super friendly, incredibly positive, and did an amazing job. They walked me around the house where they had done work so I could make sure I was satisfied right there on the spot. I never once felt like they were slacking, or cutting corners. I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. Lastly came the final bill. And it ended up being about $1000 less than I was expecting! Woo hoo! Again, as I was squaring up with the ladies in the office, they were so kind, and personable. What that says to me is everyone enjoys where they work, who they work with, and really care about their customers. It makes a HUGE difference. I cannot recommend this company enough if you need any sort of work done. It doesn't matter who you talk to, you will walk away from the experience completely satisfied and confident that everything was handled with your best interest in mind. read more

I have worked with Colin and his crew on 4 or 5 projects over the years and they always offer exceptional service, are friendly and professional, and the price can not be beat! I would recommend anyone call EB for any window or door project. My latest project required a custom build of of a double hung window with an arch at the top that that was damaged in a fire. The window has an intricate grid design and to match an existing window on the other side of the house. My only grudge is that the build took a long time from the factory (which is somewhat out of their control anyway) but they got it done at less than a 3rd of the price and it looks awesome, an exact match of the existing window. Where do I begin?? This was the most horrific experience ever! Should it take 5 months to order, install, order again because it was the wrong color and wrong color hardware which I was told I was color blind by the "general manager" and that I would pretty much have to live with it ....sorry I just couldn't live with the wrong color door!! It was one of the worst installation jobs and supposedly these 2 men were the best! There was a laundry list of mistakes beginning with "can I use your bathroom" not once, but twice to do his business ...finally I did not want to deal with anyone but Ed who I fact did make it right but if he continues with these employees and installers he won't be in business much longer... I had Ed and his guys replace aluminum trim and gutters on my house. I was unhappy with a detail , so he came back out to fix it the next day no questions asked. I have also been replacing my windows 1 or 2 at a time, and you can't beat their price! I install them myself, but $159 for a low-e argon filled window (.30 U value) with constant force balances is terrific! They've got a customer for life. read more

Do not do business with this company! My husband and I started the process of replacing a kitchen door unit in our home in June, 2017. We started to become uncomfortable with the sales representative when it became very difficult to get timely responses. He was "on vacation" or "did not see emails", however we perservered and by August placed our deposit and had the unit on order. Again, frustration with lack of communication on when the unit would be ready to be installed. Finally, in September we were told that the door unit had been completed, but was damaged and would have to be re-done. Now we are into mid October and are now told that the second unit also came in damaged and would have to be started again from scratch. Needless to say our frustration level was building. After talking with the owner "Ed" he offered us a $500 credit (which the sales representative never mentioned) and wanted to come over himself to review the project and begin, yet again. We agreed to this and set up an appointment for this week. My husband made the appointment, while I was listening in on the conversation and we noted the date and time on our calendar. Our final straw with this company happened when Ed did not show up on the agreed upon time and proceeded to argue with us that we had set a time for a different date, a date that we had specifically stated would not work for us. The only positive I can give this company is the fact that our deposit was quickly refunded. After our 5 month ordeal I can say that on every level the service of this company was bad and fair warning to avoid any business dealings with EB Window and Siding. read more

We are so happy with Ed, Steve, Kathy and EB Windows and Siding crews. We had the full makeover, so we dealt with three different crews from EB-windows, doors and siding and some minor construction. Our circa 1900 colonial was a challenge at every turn, from our rope and weight windows to our severely unevenly slanted 3 season porch. Steve, the head guy, was great to work with, and patient as a saint with my questions and concerns. These guys were working in painfully cold conditions, and they got it done right! Kathy in the office was super friendly and responsive. She or Ed answered every email, and even checked in with me throughout the job. I would not hesitate to recommend them (and I will!!) to friends and family. Prices were fantastic. We had gotten several quotes, and EB came in very fair for the large scope of work we had done.
