I wanted to use E. Clarke Travel for this trip to Lisbon because I had been so pleased with using them for prior trips. This time did not disappoint from special planning for dinner reservations and private tours to finding the most convenient hotel for our stay. What amazed me most and confirmed how excellent the agency is was when our flight to Lisbon was cancelled the morning of the flight. After hours on the phone to the various airlines, Karen was able to get ua a flight out and change our return flights. Once we settled on a hotel, Diane went above and beyond working with everyone from the concierge to the culinary staff to make sure we would be taken care of. This took a number of follow-ups on Diane's end and she was relentless in her pursuit of making it happen. Upon my arrival, the concierge knew exactly who I was and made sure to show me that our restaurant reservations noted the food allergy. E Clarke goes above and beyond to assure that all aspects of your trip will go smoothly and when something unexpected happens, like a cancelled flight in a foreign country at 1AM in the morning... you can call them, not have to wait on hold with airline representatives, and get a quick resolution to get you home. My wife and I were interested in traveling to the Dominican Republic, as this destination was highly recommended by some close friends in are neighborhood that recently went. We did have several questions so I thought it would be prudent to utilize a travel agent. E Clark Travel had good reviews when I looked them up using the google on my home computer so I decided to call the next morning promptly at 8am when they opened (might have been 9am, I just don't recall but I did remember setting my alarm clock to ensure I was the first one to call in) My initial concerns were cost and security. I had actually thought the Dominican Republic was located in Mexico and when I asked "how strong the US dollar was to the Mexican dollar" the staff was somewhat confused with the inquiry but then They informed me that In fact that the Dominican Republic was it's own island They provided me with several cost options and a tremendous amount of very helpful travel Info. Love this travel agency. My family uses the Closter location. My parents have used them to book vacations to Belize, Costa Rica, Brazil and a cruise around Cape Horn (mostly with Jolie and also Karen). My husband and I used Jolie to book cruises to Alaska and the Panama Canal, and we used Karen to book a trip to Peru/Machu Picchu and the rainforest. The cruises were great, but they really excel with the vacations! We never had to worry about anything and felt totally taken care of. Someone met us at each arrival and departure, we had guides to drive us around and transport us and the hotels and food were all top-notch! They work with your desires and your budget. It was the most luxurious way to visit Peru and saved us from all the planning! I would not hesitate to use them for future vacations! read more
