My e-foil lesson with Ben and Casey was honestly the highlight of my trip to Hawaii. This was AWESOME! Way more fun than surfing. I was scared at first for a number of reasons. What happens if the Efoil zips out from underneath me? Will I get hit by the propeller if I fall off? They had a guard for the propeller so there's no way it would hit you and the propeller turns off as long as you let go of the trigger when you fall. Equipment was top notch and fairly new. I was in a group of four. We had some slight board experience with snowboarding and wakeboarding. Plenty of space around to not run into each other. The water was pretty calm at 8am. It started to get more windy at 9am which made the water a bit choppy. But if you're flying it doesn't matter. All four of us were flying at some point. Bonus is we saw so many turtles out there. Great experience. Kind staff and tons of fun. Little harder than I thought to get airborn but for some great pics.

Ben and crew were there and set up before we got there, signed all necessary documents. We were provided with USCG helmet, life vests and communications device to hear Ben advising us out/in the water with 2 instructors and 2 rookies. Spent :30 minutes in ground school learning the basics and boarded our board to start our new adventure. Practiced and rode waves with the instructors always present in the water until we got the hang of it in about :30. We rode for the rest of the time flying and landing cleanly. My grandson is 15 yo from PA and I am 70. We also bought picture package and got great shots for a truly memorable experience.(attached) it was worth every penny and the videos and stills were priceless! Great experience! Feels like you're flying! Was able to get up on plane within an hour. Great instructor. Really does a nice job walking you through the proper technique. And in a few days I got a supervised rental and was able to stay in the air long enough to look around , enjoy the feeling of flying and take multiple turns. We found Ben through a Google search as we wished to try efoiling after watching someone do it in the SF Bay Area. It's actually quite technical and we firmly believe that whether you have a great time depends on whether you have a great instructor. To that end, Ben is an INCREDIBLE instructor! He explained so much in such a short time, in an extraordinarily easy-to-understand way. He provides dry land instruction, followed by on-water instruction (where he speaks to you via a head piece). The first 30-45 min was really about finding balance on the board and figuring out how to maneuver on the water, then, after a short snack break on land, it's back into the water where everything clicked. My daughter (13 yrs) and I (old) wanted a board based activity. E-foiling is difficult, but do-able. We were both up and riding in little time. Getting the hang of flying is more difficult but can be accomplished in the first two hours. Ben is an excellent instructor. He has a good sense of surfers' (meaning our) strong points and weak points. E-foiling isn't a gimme if you are a surfer but it is definitely possible. The location (Sand Island) was perfect. Tucked away. Mellow. Lots of space to make mistakes and experiment. Ben was very responsive to our initial inquiries and booked us lessons in no time. read more

We had an absolute amazing time!!!! We had six of us total, and all of us got up a lot and were pretty darn good by the end. The instructors were super knowledgeable and supportive. We always felt like we had clear directions, but also a "just enjoy yourself" kind of vibe, because that's honestly why we were out there to begin with. They have walkie talkies out there and eyes on you, so you're not really alone anytime. It was incredibly rewarding once you can get up on the foil, or just lay down or on your knees to just cruise around. We highly recommend these guys, and when we're back visiting family we'll be coming back to do it again. I will recommend going in the earlier time slot, we were later in the day because we booked last minute so the wind was picking up (also there's a storm coming in so that's a factor too), but I still wouldn't change a thing:) if we could give 6 stars we would! read more

First time to do efoiling. Ran into their reps in front of International Marketplace and decided to give it a try the next day with a hour group lesson with my teen. Had such a blast we went back the next day for 1 hour supervised time for each person. My teen flew on the first day in less than 30 minutes. I was able to fly many times the 2nd day. Great experience for someone like me as I have never been able stand on a surf board. I can stand on SUP and this is way more exhilarating than SUP. Much less physically demanding than SUP and no paddling needed unlike surfing. Easy to learn the remote control and you get ground time to learn tips before water time. Safety vest and helmet with one way radio so they can talk to you for instructions are provided. The owner Ben made sure we had a stellar experience and gave valuable feedback for me to get better. He and his brother Dan are so cool and laid back they make you feel like you're part of their 'Ohana. I've done all kinds of activities on the 4 main islands that either cost this much or more and usually they are one and done activities. I definitely plan on doing this again next time I'm on Oahu and will probably plan for more than one day. If you're on the fence about it, just go for it. Very safe, very fun, YOLO! read more
