He also called a relative while at my place and on the way home to give me their suggestions on dealing with the smell, which has nothing to do with HVAC and is above and beyond in my opinion. Yes, I did have to pay the $100 fee to come out. I paid in cash to not have to pay the 10% processing fee. I was fine with paying this to have someone come out so quickly, and on a Sunday. As a small business owner myself, I can recognize when someone truly values their craft and their clients. Tony from AW HVAC Services came by last year when I thought our freon/coolant was low. He arrived on time, did a full check, and instead of upselling me on something unnecessary, he uncovered a much bigger issue caused by our home warranty company. Turns out our condenser and compressor were completely mismatched in size, which explained why our AC wasn't cooling properly. What really sealed my respect for him was that he refused to charge for the diagnosis. I booked him again to create a detailed report so we can take the home warranty company to SCC. Called Friday morning and the receptionist was amazing and got someone to our house that morning. Full diagnostic told us the compressor went bad. Our unit was 13 years old, so it was about time for a new system. We decided to replace whole system as replacing a compressor is quite expensive basically half the cost of a new one. Mike came that night to price out a new system. I got two quotes from other companies. But decided on Shanahan because of their reputation, service as well as pricing. Talked with Mike and Conner (the owner) about our options and they came on a Saturday to install even though they didn't have an opening until Thursday. The owner himself came with a couple guys and replaced our system. They were very polite, did excellent work and we were back up and running. Plus they had very affordable pricing. These guys care! McMurrays spent the next 2.5 months searching for a replacement top frame. Replacement parts were unavailable due to the age (13 yrs) of the unit. Any other technician would have given up and walked away but McMurray's kept at it and found a machinist to reshape my original frame. After an 8 p.m. call on Thursday, a technician was at our door by noon the next day. Unfortunately, we discovered that the compressor in our system was completely gone. Mr. McMurray came out shortly afterward to size a replacement, and the new system was fully installed, up and running by 3 p.m. Monday. And this was no straightforward installation--it was a top-floor unit in a condo building. Throughout the entire process, Mr. McMurray went above and beyond. In addition to getting cold air back into our apartment, he patiently answered all of my questions, explained the process from start to finish, shared advice on how to better maintain our system, and worked directly with our building manager to ensure everything went smoothly. As an added bonus, replacing the old system gave us the opportunity to upgrade to a much more energy-efficient unit. Second they not gave us an estimate but options for payment. The overall cost was close to but less than the other guys, but Perdue was no pressure, they offered a better warranty on parts and labor and options for payment. Lastly we support businesses that are local, family owned, and/or veteran owned. It really helps when they don't charge you as if you are bezoar or musk. If you are looking for great service and fair prices give the Perdue's a call and let Eric or Bob help you out. I plan to keep them on my HVAC speed dial.

Since completion of the job, they have come back on routine maintenance visits to keep the system up and running and the cost of which was included with the original work. Separately, I used them for plumbing, specifically replacing a sink faucet, repairing a garbage disposal, and repairing a leaky shower fixture. I was very pleased with this service as well. Especially the garbage disposal because all it needed was a minor turn of a crank to loosen it up instead of a full replacement, which saved me a significant amount of money. Obviously, overall, I'm very happy with their services. I will be using them again and highly recommend.
