First, I should mention that I almost never write reviews - but I was motivated enough to do it this time because I had such an unexpectedly good experience. I spent a lot of time lot of research before deciding to have RES install a new furnace, AC, and water heater in my townhouse, and I have no regrets about entrusting them with the job! Honestly, I had never heard of RES a few days ago, but I was very impressed by my interactions with them. Tra, the company founder, quickly responded to every email and patiently answered all my questions. He presented several reasonable options and explained the pros and cons. And his prices were more than fair. To give you some idea, another big-name company quoted me a price that was 50% higher for the same well-regarded equipment Tra was offering (Carrier for HVAC, State for the water heater). That's a ridiculous markup! With Tra, I didn't feel like I was getting taken for a ride, and he didn't engage in strong-arm sales tactics used by some others in the business. What mattered even more to me was all the positive feedback I came across online about RES. Tra's was the only HVAC company with a perfect 5/5 score across every major platform -- Google, Angie's List, Yelp, and Facebook. Could this outfit be legit, I wondered? Can I trust them? I'm delighted to say "yes", and I can now count myself among your many satisfied customers! Tra's crew had a tough job on their hands because they had to work in a very tight space, and the new water heater was much larger than the old one. Favian, David, and Freddy worked for nearly 10-11 hours straight to get everything installed properly - with just one day's notice. Yet they didn't rush things even though it was getting late, and they must have been tired and cold by the end of the day. Before leaving, Favian patiently explained how to use the new system and walked me through everything they had done. And he was all smiles and still in a good mood! Amazing. I was particularly impressed by their workmanship and the obvious care they had taken to get it done right without taking shortcuts. They all came across as seasoned pros who knew what they were doing, and genuinely nice guys, too. Tra and his technicians are consummate professionals, and their attention to customer satisfaction is superb. I look forward to having them maintain my system for years to come. After trying to narrow down which company to call from the yellow pages and internet searches, I discovered RES Heating & AC on Yelp. I wanted to read reviews that were both complimentary and critical. I didn't want to rely on a single point of view and I wanted specifics, not just compliments or sour grapes. I understand why they are so highly rated. This was my experience: Mary, their dispatcher, and Tra, my technician, made this the best HVAC service I've ever had. They were both courteous, professional and very efficient, but their service went far beyond that. There are, of course, things that can come up that might affect a scheduled arrival time. The prior job or customer might need a little more time and attention. As rush hour approaches, traffic congestion changes. We all live in this area, we get that. What was unique is that I have never had a dispatcher work so hard to keep me informed. Phone calls, text messages, and working to shift technician assignments to get someone to my house as soon as possible...Mary, you're a gem! Tra was another rock star! Polite, respectful and considerate in every way. He clearly explained everything he was doing and why he needed to do it. With his knowledge, skill and experience, he was able to get a very, VERY old AC unit up and running again. I'm fortunate that he could squeeze a little more life out of it and give me time to plan for it's replacement. What I appreciated the most was the education he gave me as he was troubleshooting this service call. He was honest and clear with each explanation, and genuinely concerned with what would be best for me and my situation. There was a power outage that took place at the garden condos, where I live at three (3) nights ago. Our power did come back on after two (2) hours, unfortunately woke up to an extremely cold condo, my heater not working, and my thermostat was not communicating with my heater. After many failed attempts to check my circuit breaker or reset my heater - I reached out to RES Heating & AC later on the evening. This was my 2nd experience with them, the first time was last summer when I hired them to install new AC units in my family home. I was able to get scheduled for the next morning, which I was completely relieved about! Even though their diagnosis fee was higher than other competitors, I knew their quality of work from the past was worth it. William came out to review my heater and thermostat. He was extremely professional and called me with suffice advanced time prior to his arrival. William was polite and explained the issues he found right away. The power outage caused damages to control board fan relay and caused my old thermostat to lose signal with my heater. I was very stressed out since this was a condo I recently bought two (2) months ago. However, his patience and knowledge provided me to be at ease. He was very patient with answering my questions and concerns. William even went out of his way to make sure my new thermostat had a wall plate to cover any visible wall plaster damages. I called at the worst time of the year. My heat pump failed to cool and also had trouble heating during the winter. I called a few companies (Michael and son, Metcalf, and M&M.) M&M wanted $850+ for freon and more to "test for a leak using dye." It was not until I called Residential Express that I was informed that a new system would be the best option since I had been refilling my refrigerant every year. Needless to say my unit has failed every summer for the past 4-5 years and had cost me hundreds of dollars in refrigerant. Damian, one of the RES HVAC technicians, came out to appraise my situation. He gave me a freon charge (at no cost) and a quote on a new system. I had obtained several quotes and RES HVAC was the best price and offered a labor warranty on alternative systems from other companies. After speaking with Damian I chose RES because of their communication skills as well as price. The two installers (William and Robert) were very punctual and explained everything to me as they took out my old system and replaced it with the new one. My system is now running smoothly and without any signs of my previous issues. Not only were they professional but they took the time to teach me a lot about my AC system. I would not hesitate to call RES HVAC again for any issues that may arise in the future and highly recommend them to everyone. RES has demonstrated great professionalism in a timely manner, initial there was another company assigned and they did an assessments on my air unit and said I would have to call someone else because they couldn't fix it. I called my home warranty service center and they assigned RES to the case and right away technician (Tra) assessed the problem, performed leak test and found the evaporating unit was leaking in multiple areas. Tra explained in detail my options, called the warranty customer service gave the the assessment report; the warranty center called me and told me what my uncovered cost would be for modification and disposal of the evaporating unit. I must say that (Tra) was very respectful, knowledgeable, and professional including giving us step by step information on what he was doing. Tra came out to my house to fix my AC unit when I was having serious issues. I never write reviews on companies because my time is very valuable to me. I'm ashamed to say I was pretty frustrated from work plus my Cooling unit was not working. I may have came off wrong when getting the service done. Tra kept his professionalism from start to finish and reassured me everything would be ok. Tra diagnosed the issue with ease and explained everything so I could understand even before the repair. Tra was my therapist and HVAC tech that day. I really appreciate everything he does and stands for. He is a great guy who you can count on and trust. This review is based on my initial interaction with the company, which has been fantastic. The manager Brandon has been extremely helpful with questions and putting together quotes for us. He always answered emails within a day, and got us several revised quotes right away when we asked for them. We ended up having to wait to get the work done, but the company honored the quote a few months later, and sent out Tra to assess our needs. Tra was very patient and willing to explain the various options to us, and it was all an extremely positive experience. We had quotes from a number of different companies, and have decided to go with RES based on their warranties, price, and customer service. I'll update this with another review once the work is done, but in terms of customer service/attentiveness, I don't think there's a better option out there in this area that I could find. read more

SUCH A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE. My technician, Maged, was available early and arrived an hour before my appointment window. I shared about my challenge (AC unit shutting off due to clogged condensate line) and about what a previous technician from another company did to address it. He completed a thorough diagnostic, including cutting into PVC piping to determine that the clog was a result of a clog in my downstair neighbor's unit and not within my own unit. He communicated everything clearly and ensured I understood what he was doing as well as pricing, before taking action. He wrote up a very detailed diagnostic note and advised me on next steps, which was much appreciated as a first time homeowner! Also, the price of service was less than half of what the other company charged. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I'll be using RES for all HVAC needs moving forward. read more

I cannot say enough about how honest and genuinely helpful Residential Express Heating and Air has been. Tra went out of his way to guide me through an entire hot water heater replacement process -- including being upfront about going to Home Depot for parts -- and talked me through an emergency situation with real care. What stood out most is that he took the time to help me and walk me through everything even when he wasn't getting paid for it. This was by far one of the BEST experiences I have ever had with a vendor. Transparent, honest, professional, punctual, thoughtful, detailed, thorough, hardworking, and knowledgeable. They cleaned before and after their arrival. They explained every action, need, tool, and smell. We've used them for a heating repair and an annual maintenance on another property.Unlike the past few companies we've used in the past,they didn't try to upsell us on replacing our current system,in fact told us favorable news and may just need minor modifications. I'm writing this review because of how honest the technican William was. I came home at noon to discover my house at 53 degrees and with a new baby and wife coming home at 5pm I had to act fast. My gas furnace unit is old, really old and I know I'm in borrowed time. William gave me a quote on a new unit, encouraged me to strongly consider it, but said he could get it running for the time being. His honesty and ability to get it running to buy me some time, is the reason I will be purchasing a new unit from you guys in the very near future. I hope you understand how not focusing on just turning a quick profit on new units has helped my family get through this month. From beginning to end, these guys are the best. Woke up one morning to our 2 year old HVAC unit not functioning properly. It was hot and humid outside so the temperature kept rising. Sent RES a message via Yelp and they responded within minutes. They had a technician at the house within 2 hours to diagnose the problem. The part I needed wasn't available for a few days but when it was, Tra came out to replace it. He also pointed out many features of my system and told me what I should and shouldn't be doing, and gave me a lot of information regarding HVAC systems in general. What is there to say? Every aspect of our experience with Residential Express was excellent. They were the first to respond to our boiler request, seemed the most knowledgeable relative to our home's needs based on our due diligence and research, offered the best warranty package at close on the best price, communicated extensively throughout, completed the removal/replacement in a mere two days, and left our boiler room pristine... even going so far as to help me carry out bags of solidified cement that the removal of our old boiler uncovered. After a failed attempt by a handyman and several phone calls to other heating/HVAC businesses with no response back to get our furnace checked out after our heater stopped working in the beginning of January, I finally got in touch with Tra. He swung by the house on a Tuesday afternoon, poked around, was able to diagnose the problem in a few minutes and and got our heater running again in just about 15 minutes. This was quite honestly one of the BEST experiences I've had with a company I've "found online". The gentleman who came out to the house was extremely detailed in explaining what he found, what was happening, what he was going to do, and things he would suggest.
