Called Residential Express for a full-system replacement quote in October. Was pleased with the experience, which simply involved taking measurements and asking what changes I might want with the setup--much better than the high-pressure sales pitch from the bigger companies in the area. We pushed off the replacement thinking our unit would survive one more winter, but of course of furnace went out unexpectedly in the middle of the night during one of the coldest stints of the season. Called Residential Express the following morning, they pulled up my quote from 4 months prior, verified the price hadn't changed and were able to schedule me for a full HVAC replacement the next day. Freddie and Flavian arrived on time and were very professional moving through our house and working in our backyard and utility closet. They explained any changes they needed to make, went over the new setup and recommended service intervals, and hauled all of the old equipment away, leaving our house looking better than when they arrived. RES installed new HVAC in September 2021. Freezing temps last night and my heat wouldn't kick on. Needless to say, it's cold in the house. Literally wearing a sweater and two sweater wraps. New HVAC filter, reset breaker. Thermostat batteries are fine. Still not kicking on. Sent Yelp message to RES because they have always been quick to respond. And they did this time as well and the woman who gave me a call was nice and tried to help. Pretty disappointed that they can't quickly swing by today. From what I've read, it's likely a dirty flame sensor or the ignitor switch (neither of which is a long job - I just don't have the tools). HVAC less than 5 years old, so parts are under warranty with RES; however, I had to call someone else. Bottom line: Someone else is coming today, but I could end up paying for parts. Kind of feels like my current needs weren't lucrative enough for RES to make a concerted effort to swing by. read more

Our upstairs airconditioner broke on July 4th. We called and left a message, and Mary called back on Saturday, July 5th and set up an appointment for Monday morning. We originally requested a quote to replace our AC back in April. The team that came out was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and took the time to answer all of our questions. We had a very good experience with R.E. for our home heating and AC. We started with a general checkup of our heating and cooling systems which they did at a fair price. We know one boiler was no longer working properly and they found the same issue - a repair was not possible, and they provided a very fair quote to have it replaced (we had an earlier quote from a different provider which was 30% more). They found a better boiler to replace the old one, and the replacement was performed quick and with minimal downtime. They team was courteous and kept us informed every step. The old boiler was too big to get out of the basement, so they even had to cut it in half - which was no problem for the team. I had to have a new evaporator coil on an air conditioner unit installed, which also included recharging the refrigerant. This was after a previous diagnostic from William, who had worked on the system before, and did excellent work. I was able to get a repair call scheduled within two days of the initial diagnosis. Robert and Daniel were delayed a few hours because of a prior job. Prior to their arrival, their central office called me and told me they would be delayed, and took $100 off the job. Both Robert and Daniel were superbly professional, very knowledgeable, explained things on request, and finished the job an hour faster than the original estimate-- in spite of the wait, it was worth it.
