The metro mall is similar to a small indoor flea market type of setup, with a small variety of different mom and pop businesses in it, mostly catering to the urban scene downtown. It's never been a "good" area, but these days it's pretty ridiculous. The last time I was there 6 people tried to bum money off of me and one guy swore I fathered his last wives baby (?!?). I've been told by City workers that the Mayor allegedly tells folks to "steer" tourists complete away from this area and more toward the Aquarium/Park area a few blocks away. No city leader has ever seemed to really try to tackle the problem. I guess they figure if they keep places like this the way they are, they attract people who would otherwise venture into those tourist areas and make the City look bad. As someone else said though, the security manager is INCREDIBLE - a no B.S. type of Robocop kind of guy who will kick the ghetto queens and thieves out like a sack of potatoes, even using his stun gun if need be (there are videos online of this - wonderful). We need 1000 more of him throughout downtown, that's all I can say. He deserves a metal. Anyway - not much a "review", but the fact is, there's little reason for everyday people to go to the Metro Mall. It serves a sub-niche of clientele, which imo does not include conventioneers or tourists; you have other options. Unless you like to practice your survival skills.

This turned out to be one of the most fun experiences I have had in a while. Let's get one thing right before we begin--the QUALITY of the products you get to make rival that of any other high end perfume or scent focused boutique you will visit in ATL. This isn't just a great activity for yourself and for others; you get to take home a product you made that is truly quality. The instructors were absolutely fantastic - so attentive and incredibly knowledgeable. They walked me through all the different scents step by step, which prevented me from feeling overwhelmed by all the choices. For the perfume portion, they were especially helpful in teaching proper scent layering and how to maintain your perfume professionally. The whole experience felt very personalized and well-guided. The space is gorgeous with a really cute pink theme that adds a lovely feminine flair, but it's balanced enough that it would make a perfect date night spot too. It's tucked away in a more secluded location (you wouldn't stumble across it by accident), so make sure to park on the gravel area when you arrive if there's space. Otherwise, the area some street parking options. The venue actually seems connected to another space where you can order drinks, and it's BYOB which is a nice touch. They have the glasses, you bring the alcohol! Even though I went alone, I had a wonderful time chatting with a couple who was also taking the class. Both my candle and perfume turned out beautifully! They provide great containers for the candles and have an amazing selection of scents to choose from. One thing I appreciated is the flexibility - if you're coming with a friend and want to do different activities (one person doing candles, another doing perfume), they can accommodate that. I chose to do both the candle and perfume making, and it was absolutely worth it. As a birthday bonus, they even gave me a special birthday treat associated with the class, which was such a thoughtful surprise! Overall, I absolutely adored this experience and would highly recommend it! The combination of knowledgeable instruction, beautiful venue, flexible options, and amazing results made for a perfect birthday celebration. Whether you're going solo, with a friend, or on a date, this class delivers an exceptional experience

The only thing that threw me off was it was described, or at least I thought it was (there may have been a drink or two before this) as a cat bar so I thought cats would be roaming around. Honestly, I wondered how safe that was and what if people don't want cats crawling around them. It made a lot more sense when I got there and realized you had to pay to visit the cat den. It was just a back room with a bunch of cats, but the nice thing is that they donate those funds towards animal charities. Personally, I don't care enough about hanging out with the cats so I skipped that part, but otherwise they played great music on a Tuesday. The bartender was awesome too that night. Very friendly. We had a great little chat and then I promptly noticed a high heel shoe chair and made my coworker shoot a pic of me sitting on it. Big fan of the kitch!

Their hours are perfect for people who want an exciting thing to do at night but with chill vibes and even chiller cats. They have a limited selection on drinks but they are always fast. And they host some pretty cool events here from paint nights to cat yoga, recently they held a tattoo event with a local shop. Super fun and totally worth the visit.
