The atmosphere of this landscaping center is what drew us in. It had been years since my last visit, but I recall this place being set along a heavily wooded area and having a somewhat dreamy setting about it. It also doesn't hurt that it's a stone throw from Traders Point Creamery for ice cream after. ;) We popped in to see what spring selections they had available to kickstart our bushes, vegetables and more. We were a few days ahead of some shipments coming in so we weren't able to find too much quite yet. It was still an enjoyable visit to see the earlier blooms and how everything is laid out. The only thing that held it up from a fifth star was we felt like the staff was withholding or not taking us seriously when we were asking for interest in ordering a magnolia tree. We were asking for price ranges and they wouldn't seem to give it to us even though we understood that they didn't have them available currently or that they may need to look it up. I can't help but feel like I thought we wouldn't be able to afford it or something of that nature. Otherwise, a not so bad experience. You will find everything from wind chimes, tropical plants, fairly mature trees, and birdseed here. read more

I've driven past this nursery a lot, but hadn't gone in until today. I have about 35 shrubs and trees to buy as we're landscaping our front area and I wanted to get pricing. Walked into the office (there's a bell on the door), waited for five minutes, nobody came. Went outside to look around at flowers and give the cashier time to return. Saw other people working but everyone was engrossed in their own tasks. Returned about ten minutes later - bell on the door again (it's loud enough for the entire office to hear) - this time, someone was in one of the offices in line of sight of the register, working on a computer. Didn't want to interrupt - figured she'd say something like "be right there" or "I'll get someone to help you". Stood there for a good five minutes without a word or anyone coming to help. So, I left. Could I have interrupted? Sure. But I didn't get a good overall vibe - having to beg someone to help me spend thousands isn't the best business model and by that time it had been 20 minutes without a cashier. read more

I have been here twice but just stopped in even in early December they still have a good array of shrubs and great selection of Christmas decor. Very helpful staff will help with plant selection and they offer a one year plant warranty. They can also do more robust design work. Also they can do hard scrapes. read more

The reason why......the owner and family member of Eagle Creek Nursery showed kindness and helpful information picking and choosing a christmas tree for a very late purchase - lol! Eagle Creek Nursery has handled all of the structural landscaping on my Speedway property. I love their attention to detail and use of natural materials to coincide with the characteristics of the property itself. While Dennis' vision as the landscape architect is second to none, the actual crews are amazing. Most of the work on my property has to be done by hand due to how the yard is situated and how tiny the parcel is and they have been quick and kept me in the loop throughout the entire project. I also really appreciate their understanding of drainage and how important it is to preserving every asset on my property. Word of advice--they are good, so book early. You won't be disappointed by the result. :) read more

Eagle Creek Nursey has always been a great nursery with a wonderful selection of plants, trees, annuals and perennials, sod, stones and large boulders. I didn't find what I needed today but only because they have sold out since it's so late in the year. All annuals are 50% off if you need a few pot fillers or replacements. We did find 2x2 aggregate patio pavers for $15 which we'll be back to grab a few. read more

Wonderful variety of different product. Everything was packaged very well, as it was shipped quickly and arrived on the promised date. All the trees we ordered were accounted for and have done extremely well after being planted. I rated this nursery two stars for the following reasons: My husband and I visited this nursery yesterday just before their closing (we were unaware of their business hours). Not at any time during our short visit there did anyone greet us or ask if we needed any assistance. When eventually I was approached by someone, it was to tell me they were closed. I asked this person whether or not a particular plant they had for sale needed to be winterized. She answered with a very blunt response, "if its a tubular". I said that I did not know whether it was a tubular or not. She responded, with the same blunt response as before, that she didn't know either unless she was to dig it up. Now I can understand being tired and wanting to get home, but I spend a lot of money supporting the local nurseries during the spring/summer season and I would have expected for her to, at the very least, say she was sorry they were closing, but please come again to look around and these are our hours. My husband and I left and visited another local nursery where we were greeted, asked if we needed help, and when we left, we were asked to please come again. As a consumer, that's how I expect to be treated. So, although I believe Eagle Creek Nursery has a nice selection of both indoor and outdoor plants (at least of what I saw), I was treated poorly and with disrespect to my patronage. Eagle Creek Nursery prepared a landscaping design for us last year, then at our request actually did the landscaping this spring. The plants are beautiful, and I believe will be relatively low maintenance beyond appropriate watering. The installation went quickly and professionally, keeping us updated on all progress and some slight changes that were needed. My only comment is that I would have liked an end-of-project walkthrough to review the planting against the plan, discuss in more depth the care required, and discuss possible locations within the planting for the addition of some bulbs in the fall. I was very pleased with the work and would use them again. read more

If I could give a rating of no stars, I would do so based on the complete rudeness of their owner Charlie, poor coordination of services, and total lack of respect or follow through on what they promise. Today they are planting the third tree (second under warranty) based on their poor planting skills and the quality of the previous trees planted, as validated by a third-party and highly respected Arborist. I have an additional tree, that while healthy, contained within the root ball Honeysuckle, an exotic and highly invasive plant for which the Indiana DNR recommends eradication. I will never use their services again and would highly discourage anyone from purchasing anything from them. There are plenty of other nurseries in the metro area that are more deserving of your money! read more
