Fore! My wife and I had the opportunity to play one of Michigan's premier public golf courses in Bath Township 10 minutes north of our State Capital in the central part of the state. Eagle Eye is consistently rated in the top tier of Michigan's golf courses by Michigan Golf Advisor. Driving up to the rambling 65,00 sq. foot clubhouse, we could see that Eagle Eye Golf & Banquet Center was serious about their banquet and event business. The clubhouse has several large rooms and all have beautiful lake and golf course views. We were here, however, for some serious golf. My wife and I met two good friends at the "Eye" and had a chance to warm up on the driving range and putting green before our morning tee time. We found the fairways to be beautifully maintained. Five sets of tees provide total course yardage from 7,274 yards from the tips to 5,105 from the forward tees. The greens were quite large, had many challenging undulations and like the fairways, were also in flawless shape. This course has plenty of picturesque water holes and what seemed like a ton of strategically located sand traps that gave our foursome plenty of challenges. The highlight of our round was playing the Par 3 Hole # 17 which is an exact replica of the "Island Green" hole at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Verda, Florida. What a thrill it was to stick the Island Green from 136 yards on my first try and go on to nail down my Par. Bingo! Overall, Eagle Eye was a solid 5-star experience and a great way to spend a sunny June day with good friends in Michigan. read more

I just wanted to say how impressed I am with your course and your exceptional staff. I am fortunate to have played many incredible courses throughout the world and the customer service provided by your staff is "on par" with any private/country club I have experienced. I would especially like to thank Billy Hundt at the check in and Jim Neubecker as the starter. Both were very courteous and extremely helpful to everyone in my foursome. The course itself is a sure "5", but the Managenent and the rangers are awful! We spent a fair amount of money to play, had food and drinks, but had an absolutely horrible experience with the ranger on the course and even worse experience talking with the pro shop afterwards trying to explain his unprofessionalism. read more

The previous review from two years ago still holds up. Range balls and complimentary bottled water from the bev cart are a plus. Challenging course but very fair. Worth the $65 rate for twilight, but not sure I would feel about paying $85. A course really has to "wow" me for that kind of coin. But regardless, this has to be one of the best mid-Michigan courses without question. If you can play 36 I'd look into the Eagle Eye / Hawk Hollow 36 Hole package. read more

We played on May 22. Covid 19 here and I Obviously understand safe distance. But the outside staff 2 young ladies did nothing but talk to each other.. I asked for a towel she pointed to one laying on the ground. Didn't wipe down the seat it was raining.. bathroom doors locked. But the golf course Beautiful. Fun to play will be back.. read more

I have played many of the top public golf courses in America and this is at the top of the list. It is currently rated about 50 in the top 100 public golf courses and I think that is low due to the area (it gets overshadowed by all the great courses in the UP) and the lack of notoriety. We played on a Saturday afternoon after a tournament and the conditions were much better than expected. The greens held their form after hundreds of footsteps on them. I thought the layout was absolutely magnificent. The course was designed by Chris Lutzke, "in collaboration with Pete Dye". I'm not sure what that means but it definitely had some of Dye's characteristics - railroad ties and split fairways. I thought the coolest part of the design was when there was a gap in the giant man made mounds on a tee box that showed an island green (and only the island green). Another view that made me appreciate the massive amount of land moving was on one tee I peeked over a mound and noticed how flat the surrounding terrain was. It proved just how little natural beauty the design started with and how much it ended up with. The pace of play was slow following the tournament which I would usually mind but for how great the course was - and for how cheap it was (in comparison to other top ranked courses in the country) I didn't mind a bit. Had a wait before our tee time and had a delicious turkey sandwich on what I consider an ideal patio overlooking the 9th and 18th holes. read more

I recently just had my wedding at Eagle Eye, our ceremony was in the garden and our reception was in the Eagle's Nest. The Eagle's Nest is the smaller of the reception rooms, but the view was amazing and the staff did an amazing job making the room seem larger. It was the perfect set up for our small and more intimate wedding! From the beginning, we met with Carla who is the senior events manager, she gave us the tour of the venue and I instantly fell in love. She stayed in contact with me and made sure that everything was organized and timed out to our liking. They do an amazing job making sure that your day is personalized, but give their professional opinion to help the night run smoothly as well. They give you a vendors list with your welcome packet and it helped us find our DJ and Officiant which in the grand scheme of planning a wedding is a huge help! We were able to go to a taste testing and bring two other guests, so we brought our mothers. It was a great experience to really try some of the food and the cake before the wedding and overall just a great bonding experience. I think that it's amazing that they offer this and I must say the food is amazing! For the rehearsal they have an event coordinator come and help you run through the process. The staff was so friendly and willingly to help. It made the rehearsal less stressful and without the staff it would've been much less organized so I definitely appreciated him giving his professional input. The room was set up beautifully, you have different options for how the tables will be set up, color options for the napkins and different styles in which the napkins are set up on the tables. Again they really let you personalize all the details for your special day! We decided to have the sauteed green beans, garlic mashed potatoes, chicken florentine (chicken breast with white wine cream sauce, mushrooms and spinach) and we upgraded $2/person for the beef tenderloin. The salad was fresh and the bread they serve is AMAZING! Everyone in the room was raving about the bread. The beef tenderloin was cooked perfectly, moist and carved per order. We were so impressed with the quality of the food and the service. Lastly, the cake! We used Naomi and Batterbee cakes which is their in house baker. She is truly talented and her cakes are amazing! We chose to go with two flavors, a white cake strawberry champagne and then a chocolate cake strawberry amaretto! The cake was not overly sweet, moist and the flavors all just came together and complimented each other very well. I fell in love with Eagle Eye from the first time I walked in the door, but for how it all came together in the end, I could not have asked for a better wedding! The weather was going to be a little tricky that day and they kept communicating with us all day to see if we were going to have to bring the ceremony inside, the staff there is so organized and really just have your best interest in mind. They really did go above and beyond my husband and I's expectations. I would recommend Eagle Eye to anyone who is looking for an affordable price with amazing views and great customer service!!!! read more

Had a scholar athlete banquet for my daughter here this evening. Dinner 40 minutes late and sub-par. Bland, warm staple food. They were supposed to have a microphone for the people that were speaking. It didn't work, so guests ended up talking without one which was hard to hear. For what's supposed to be a fancy country club, they sure tried to look like a dump. Not impressed. read more

Myself and my wife decided to get married here, we were told that we would be allowed to golf before the wedding and we did however we were followed around constantly under supervision I have never been under on a golf course, even asked to skip a few holes rather than allow myself and my brothers to enjoy the experience. read more

Great golf course and decently priced for a cart/ride. Gets a lot of use by golfers who don't know the rules, though. Be prepared for messed up sand traps and divots in the fairways. But the course itself is in good shape, and it's a challenging course with plenty of water and sand traps. Range balls are free with your greens fees; curbside club service is excellent. Came here for an awards ceremony for work. It was really nice and quite big. It would definitely be a nice place for a wedding. However, its not local for me so unless I go there again for this conference next year I probably wont be back. But definitely a nice place! read more

Great course! Stay and play package was well worth it. Two rounds at Hawk Hollow and one at Eagle Eye plus two nights stay for less then $300. Treated very well by the staff. Hotel wasn't the best, but our foursome didn't care about that. Play golf, have supper and drinks and sleep. Four hours away, but would make the trip again. read more
