Instead of taking the easy route and simply using laughing gas, Dr. Allred took the time to really listen to my concerns and went out of his way to schedule an anesthesiologist so I could be as comfortable and relaxed as possible. What meant the most to me was that he made the extra effort even though he may not have had the time in his schedule. He genuinely went above and beyond to make sure I felt taken care of, and that level of thoughtfulness and dedication is something I really appreciate. I had three crowns placed at this office and have experienced ongoing problems since the procedure…read more Issues I experienced after the crowns were placed include: -Pain when chewing (especially nuts or gum on the left side) -Bite changes where my teeth now catch in ways they did not before treatment -Crowns contacting other teeth in a way that chipped a natural tooth and a previously placed crown due to the rubbing against the crowns placed by this office -Open spacing near the gumline between crowns where food consistently gets trapped -A crown shape and color that do not match my natural teeth, despite discussing this with the office beforehand -Food sticking to the chewing surfaces, which was not an issue before the crowns were placed I reported these concerns during follow-up visits and raised them again at my last appointment. However, the issues were not addressed, and I was told they would be handled if I returned to have an additional crown placed. After I left a one-star review, Dr. Allred asked that I contact the office as if my concerns had not already been clearly communicated in person. I have had routine checkups and cleanings at other dental offices following my treatments at Velux and was never told that the additional tooth they recommended for a crown required that level of treatment. In fact, I had never even been told that the tooth needed a filling. I have since been informed that one of the crowns may need to be replaced because it does not make proper contact with the adjacent tooth. Because of these issues, I have sought care elsewhere and will be replacing the crowns placed by this office. Since my dental insurance already paid for the crowns placed here, I will now have to pay out of pocket for the replacements. I would not recommend this dental office.

Amy, the awful billing lady yelled and argued with me over the phone that it's not their job to check if the tooth had been worked on in the past by another office. These people are lazy as sh*t and will NOT check any sort of tooth history just to trap you into paying their blown up fees. Watchout, this is a strategy of theirs! All other offices I've been to will not hesitate to call your insurance to gather pertinent information about the tooth that needs work. The filling, by the way, was no good. As you can see from the other reviewers, Dan Mirci absolutely sucks at performing fillings. Save yourself the headache and avoid this office and the awful billing lady! The secretary then told me that if I had any other insurance, they needed to bill that instead, because Medicaid is considered a last-resort payer. I was surprised by this, and later I received a letter saying that if my insurance didn't pay within 30 days, they would bill me in full--about $300. After that, I called Medicaid constituent services, and they conference-called the clinic and me. The billing issue and the threat of full payment were eventually resolved. However, the visit itself was also very upsetting: the dentist put her finger in my mouth in a way that felt inappropriate, and when I arrived, Taylor's song was playing loudly on the radio, which felt intimidating to me and to others in the clinic. Instead of addressing my concern, they called me "crazy" because they believed the radio was "harassing" me. Did not take a history. I don't think he even read my chart or any of the paperwork I filled out prior. Did not give information regarding future care, or what I should be doing for myself. I could hear him berating other patients and staff. As a type 1 diabetic I already brace for medical professionals to be misinformed and judgemental when I step into their office, and I was still so incredibly floored by how poor his bedside manner was. Even as a regular human being this man was incredibly unkind. Dentistry is already one of the most expensive and daunting forms of medical care, especially in America. There is a huge power dynamic and at no point did I feel comforted or relieved that this man was caring for me. It was also incredibly expensive and seemed very shady. For being someone who has chosen to be a carer for people in vulnerable situations it truly seems that he takes pride in creating even more barriers for patients.
