Christmas Breakfast Burritos: one red and one green.
    Rick H.

If you aren't paying attention you will drive right by this gem in the middle of west central New Mexico. I first fell in love with this place 33 years ago working construction in the area. And after all these years, they are still offering some of the best home cooked food in the state. For breakfast we had the burritos: one red and one green. The sauce is what makes or breaks these dishes, and these are nearly perfect. Flavorful, bright, and just enough heat. They have a chicken fried steak on the menu that I enjoyed so long ago, that has not changed....the steak itself will cover your plate. If you are traveling in this area, adjust your plans to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner here. You won't regret it and the staff will make you feel like you are right at home.

I was going through this town and stopped here for lunch, I loved it! Not only do they also have a convenience store, gas and bar but they also have a restaurant! My food was very good and well priced for the portion and our waiter was phenomenal! She was very fast and super friendly!

The meat at this place is soo good. People who complain about fat must not like a flavorful steak. I loved it. Their pies are also really good.

Food was good, and cooked exactly as asked. Service was awesome from start to finish, attentive, personable, very friendly. The atmosphere inside was very laid back, nostalgic and like taking a trip to the past. Wasn't overly crowded with tables, and though the place was full, there wasn't a lot of background noise.

Special was corn beef and Cabbage and shrimp salad and both were outstanding! Great coffee and homemade pies too!

Amazing food! We were excited to eat some wholesome hood with fresh everything including fresh green greens.

This place is your one stop shop in this small burg of approximately 60 people. A gas station, meat market and yes... The Eagle Guest Ranch. The service was spectacular. The food was nothing less then awesome. The prices fell below what they should be for the amount of food you get. It was well worth the 1 hour drive.

This is inside the store. Funny!

Traveling through the backroads, I happened upon this little town and stopped here for lunch. I had the Mexican cheeseburger. It's a large seasoned beef patty with cheese inside a tortilla and then covered with your choice of red or green sauce. It was really good! The restaurant is closed due to Covid but they have takeout. It's a neat little town. I got to meet some of the townspeople. The also have a gas station and inside there is a meat market and small grocery store. The owners are very nice. My food came out fast and prices are very reasonable. Looking around the store, it's perfect for campers who need supplies. They have everything. On my way out of town I saw a few campgrounds. Once Covid is over I'm coming back to camp. The town is very small with some abandoned buildings. The scenery is stunning. Especially right outside of town.

Loved Eagle Guest Ranch! Definitely worth the drive out from Socorro, NM. Was out here for work and it was suggested by coworkers to try the best bacon wrapped ribeye and it did not disappoint!! Toni was a doll! Thank you for the southern hospitality also really good margaritas!

Considering the remote location, this is a great restaurant. I don't eat steak, but other people recommend them for the steak dishes.

Steak was good, had a bunch of flavor but a whole lot of fat. Approx 50% was far. The pecan pie was great. Skip the berry one.

We enjoyed talking the owner and the servers But the capstone was the pie. Breakfast is the perfect time to have a piece of pie with ice cream. We had the apple pie and most apple pie is disappointing. This was seasoned just right and the crust was perfect (hard to get good crust in a pie). We even took a whole pie with us. If I lived nearby I would be 300 lbs, as this is huge win. I had wanted to come to this place for some time, so arranged our travel this year and I'm so glad we did. Don't miss stopping here. We came to pie town to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday because he loves pie. We stopped at Pie O Neer and immediately felt unwelcome so we left (you can read my review on their yelp). Went there first only because I knew it was open late on Sunday. A short drive down the road was The Gatherin Place and we saw their hours- we got there maybe 20 minutes before closing but they were warm, welcomed us in and fed us. Food was pretty alright, pies were limited but I imagine that was because they were about to close. Pulled pork was great, simple. Fries were kind of hard. The green chile wasn't hot at all. But we got some pie to go since they kept eyeballing us- I assume because they were closing or because we are city folk and thusly ones to gawk at. But we got way better vibes here than Pie O Neer (good lord that place is horrendous- I wouldn't recommend.) But at least 1 restaurant out of the 2 in pie town filled our bellies after a long drive and were welcoming, funny even! Their pies were tasty- crust is lovely and the tartness of the cherries is nice. Apple/green chile with pinions was a winner. Thanks Gatherin Place!

He walked away as I approached the counter. I was confused as I wasn't aware I had to order on the tablet on the counter. When I began using the tablet I was in search of the new mushroom burger they sent me an email yesterday about. Of course you know it's what I wanted to try. Sadly it wasn't on the menu on the tablet. When I called the employee for help I basically got the vibe he didn't want to be there and he was hesitant to approach. When he did come to the counter I asked about the burger even showed him the email to get told it's not out yet and it was coming soon. I found myself wondering why I even got the email if this was true. Needless to say the food came out really fast. I thought well that's good at least. The presentation was better than the experience. The cheese on the queso fries was pretty skimpy. There were way more fries than cheese which was disappointing. The burger I wasn't a fan of either. It needed more cheese and the stackers sauce tasted strange like it a chipotle sauce it wasn't the same as I recalled. I'm sad to say this is the second location I've had a bad experience with. It's really disappointing because I really loved this place. I guess I'll have to stick to the central food hall because so far that's the only location that hasn't disappointed me like this yet.
