I've lived in TorC for 2.5 years, it was my first time at Bigfoot last night! My daughter, Son in Law and Grandson were in town at Riverbend Hot Springs and I took care of my Grandson & Doggies at my place. We went for an early dinner. Came here for lunch on a holiday weekend (Sunday). Inside was packed, but thankfully the outside had plenty of open tables and the weather was lovely. Ordered: Cheese curds: spectacular! Bigfoot burger and rosemary fries 1000/10 Cashew chicken, which came with a choice of rice (I got fried), sautéed vegetables (delicious) and an award-worthy egg roll. Chicken was good, but not as good as the burger. I think they use chicken breast, I'm more used to having thighs in these types of dishes. Just a personal preference. The egg roll, however was delicious. Two pints (and then two more) of the hef on draft to seal the deal. In short: go if you get a chance, go without any hesitation! Found this restaurant on Yelp. It had a good rating but I must say that it exceeded our expectations! We had lobster rolls which were served warm. That's how we prefer them. (Never got used to the cold version in Boston.) It was a mixture of lobster and other seafood but quite nice. My side was a green salad with a vinaigrette dressing and it was really fresh and good. My dinner companion had the truffle fries as his side. I couldn't resist stealing a few from his plate and they were very tasty. He ordered a Santa's Nightcap seasonal cocktail made with eggnog, rum, coffee liquer, whipped cream, and topped with a gingerbread man! I had an espresso martini. It was fine. I have nothing to compare it to since it was my first. The inside was nice but a bit on the small side. The booths had been reserved so we sat at a table in the middle of the room. The woman who waited on us was very welcoming. I must also mention the dog-friendly patio, complete with heat lamps. It looked magical decorated with hundreds of tiny lights. We come here every time we are in the area. Everything on the menu is delicious. The staff is always friendly and efficient. They even have a nice wine selection as well. If you want to eat inside make sure you make reservations. They also have a very nice outdoor seating area. read more

After reading the reviews I saw where you needed to call for reservations. We were about 20 minutes outside of town and they had an opening so that worked out well. The inside of the restaurant is small but the outside patio was large. Our server was Jean and was very pleasant. Food was good, hot and plentiful. Wife ordered the French dip and liked it, grandson had the chicken strips and I had the fish platter. The grandson ate one of my pieces of fish along with his chicken strip and liked them. Walking in was a bit strange...we didn't have reservations and the inside bar was full. It seemed like they were trying to encourage us not to stay... said thy were full. I said we were happy to wait and was told it would be a LONG wait, at least 45 minutes. I said no problem, at which point he said here were two seats at the end of the bar. Weird. Moving past that. Cocktail menu, different and very interesting. My friend had a "snowball" which reminded us of a bulldog, but with some added caramel. I had a "lime martini" that reminded me of a jolly rancher. They were pretty drinks and very, very good. We wanted to try other cocktails but had to drive. Food...wow. First bites were just "wow." My friend had the Yeti burger that was easily one of the best burgers I have ever had. I opted for fish and chips which were done perfectly. Nice meaty piece of cod and thin breading. We both had the rosemary fries which have forever changed my view on a french fry. My dish came with a salad that had the most amazing vinegarette, and I still cannot place the herb used in it, but it set it apart from any other dressing I have had. My dish also came with homemade tartar sauce. I hate tartar sauce! yet I found myself loving the dill and finely chopped pickles in it. Finally, the staff were amazing- particularly after our rocky start- Welcoming and attentive. Military vet here, it does not take much to impress me however this little place in the middle of the desert is A+ Awesome! I had the Chicken, Brie, Roasted Tomato sandwich on Ciabatta bread and Pop had the Fish & Chips with Rosemary fries. All of it was super good. Ambiance was warm and cozy, and they had steady, full tables for dinner. Very nice selection of drinks, beer, and mixed liquors from the bar. Staff were incredibly cool and the vibe is easy going. As usual the food that Steve puts out is good, good, The staff is always friendly and professional. We ate on the patio which is very inviting. The only downfall is that the table closest to the pet patio is the folks facing SW at just a little bit before sundown are almost completely blinded by the sun. Not sure what to suggest but we've been seated there and I've mentioned it to the servers but I'll sure that they get busy and forget. Possibly a screen of sorts. Love this place ! Easily the best restaurant in Truth or Consequences, NM no contest. I had the brisket sandwich and was seriously impressed. I'll admit I was a bit skeptical at first about lingonberries on a wagyu brisket sandwich, but wow... they nailed it. The sweet-tart flavor of the lingonberries paired perfectly with the rich, smoky brisket it was unexpectedly delicious and completely memorable. Honestly, it's easily one of the top 2 brisket sandwiches I've ever eaten. Great food, welcoming vibe, and creative menu choices that actually work. This place deserves 10 stars. I recommend you make a reservation if you prefer inside seating. No reservation? This friendly place might just find you a spot inside, if you don't mind sharing a table. We could have sat out on the lovely patio but decided to table share. We personally loved it, met some very nice people. The food is delicious, you can tell the owner takes pride in all that is served. His original recipes are out of this world delicious. I advised that he was a service animal and she still made us go to the pet patio. it was directly in the sun and extremely hot. By the end of the meal I was completely overheated and feeling faint. we tried to explain to the waitress that he is a service anima and that we are supposed to be allowed inside. We had a late lunch/early dinner here. The huge Bigfoot invited us in and I am so glad we did. First of all, super dog friendly. We had our chug and pug with us so it was nice that they were so welcoming of them. We started with an appetizer of perfectly crispy fries and gravy. For the entree I had the Chupacabra Burger with Vinegaratte Greens and my husband had the Fish and Shrimp with Vinegaratte Greens. John who was attentive and friendly suggested a red beer which was excellent. Corabeth and Floki explored the dog dining area, off leash because of the gate which we closed. After a hike through the Gila during our long weekend, my gal and I were ravenous and called Bigfoot to make sure they were open on New Year's Eve - they were, and once they knew we had a dog with us, they said they wheel out a portable heater to the dog section, which was a great start! They have an extensive wine selection, though we both ordered beers - they have a solid, if somewhat limited, draft selection. Our server was very friendly, helpful and prompt - top notch service all around. Bigfoot's outdoor aesthetic deserves mention too. It was warmly and tastefully decorated, with a section dedicated to dogs, so the owners can eat while their pups sniff around. My girl got a veggie burger, while I got their special breakfast burger, with a friend egg, bacon, and gouda. My rosemary fries were stupendous. Both our dishes really hit the spot after a long hike. My husband and I were staying at Caballo lake but needed an oil change so we came up to TorC for that and thought we would grab a bite here. Hubby had looked at the menu online and saw that they had a blue cheese burger on the menu, which was the deciding factor. We started with the fried calamari. It was cooked perfectly. Nothing rubbery and the breading was seasoned perfectly. The cocktail sauce served with it had a slight hint of horseradish.. very tasty. We are blue cheese snobs (we didn't intend to be, we just really like good blue cheese. The blue cheese here had a sweet taste and turns out it's a general cafeteria grade bleu cheese. It made the burger taste a little strange, but again, we have a taste for high end bleu cheese so if you don't, you wouldn't probably notice. The burger was well cooked and tasted amazing other than the bleu cheese. I had the lobster roll. It's always sketchy to try seafood in a land locked state such as New Mexico. You know that unless you are mortgaging your house to pay for it, it's been frozen. However, they really did a great job with the lobster and I really enjoyed the garlic infused butter it was served with. The rosemary fries we both had were very good. I wish I had room for dessert because their selection sounded really tempting. The only reason I docked a star is because they serve soda in a can. They give you a glass and a straw, but the food is amazing and serving soda in a can with that food is an insult to the food. I'm so glad we stumbled upon this place. It was a hot triple digit day and the only seating was outside, but the host turned on the misters and it made it for a comfortable place to be. I have to say the staff was so friendly and our server made great recommendations. Three of us had the chupacabra burger and all three is us were so impressed at how delicious it was. I raved about it so much that my sister and her friends visited Big foot the next day and tried it for themselves. They loved it as much as we did. What makes it so special? Well besides that the burger is juicy and cooked to perfection, but also the nice crispy bacon and full hatch green Chile make it heavenly. The burger is also accompanied by tasty truffle fries. I also enjoyed the flight of rose. Next time we are in town or drive through I-25 we will definitely be stopping by. Three disappointments and I'm out. I love supporting local business but not when I can never count on them to be open and keep consistent hours and service. First visit was in July I believe. We had to park down the street because of the size of the parking lot. Google had no mention of a temporary closure. Sign on the door said they were gone for the month. Came back for Labor Day and was glad they were finally open. Took us over an hour to be served our food. It wasn't warm or memorable. Decided to give it another try the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. Was turned away and told it was reservation only. This place always leaves me hangry. Yeah, I didn't see it coming but it was a great time. Came here with my fiancé and my soon to be in-laws and wasn't expecting this to be as delicious as it was. We had a wide array of dishes from burgers to vegetarian appetizers and nothing missed. There isn't one thing that I would point out as the goto must have. Nothing blew my socks off. But it was definitely worth it. After hitting the hot springs in Truth or Consequences this is just a quick jaunt north and the perfect place to top off a night. I had the toasted ravioli as an appetizer, delicious! I got the fish, shrimp and fries for dinner. It had a very tasty salad on the plate and everything was EXCELLENT!!! Fairly large portion so I have plenty left over for lunch today. My husband got the spicy chicken stir fry that came with an egg roll. He was completely satisfied with his choice as well! Although I didn't taste his dinner, I had too much myself, it sure did look good! If we're ever in this area again, we wouldn't miss stopping by this wonderfully delicious spot! She rolled her eyes and sat us. From that point things went downhill, the service, food, and the overall experience was awful. The service and atmosphere was top notch. The food was incredibly bland. I ordered the battered fish/shrimp and the the cashew chicken. I believe the fish may actually be local, but the shrimp is definitely from a bag. Everything was deep fried to perfection, unfortunately there was just no flavor. On the other hand, the fries had far too much flavor. Completely over seasoned for my taste. Desperate for something like Chinese food, I ordered the cashew chicken.
