However, Optimum Concrete has been one of the few subs we've worked with for our home renovation that have professional, on time, good at their craft and clean on the job site. They really are the best in town for concrete jobs. They care about their product and the owner himself shows up to the job site and works. Optimum poured a concrete wall for us, our pool dec, covered patios, custom bench and porches. They did a 5-star job and they'll be doing our driveway too. We went with a cheaper option earlier in our project and the work was subpar. They're not the cheapest in town, but they are the best. So grateful that Optimum finally was able to squeeze us into their busy schedule. Highly recommend.

Concrete thickness and exposed aggregate color were special specifications that I required. The exposed aggregate color match on the additional driveway extensions was impeccable. Optimum Concrete LLC is a super, dependable family owned company. They do top notch work and great to work with. They are passionate about what they do; Someone who loves what they do is much more likely to get the job done well. Crews were there when they said they would be and work was completed on time. We wanted our overgrown plants thinned and trimmed back. Instead, they were razed. We asked to have two volunteers removed. Instead, they were just cut back -- and the enormous roots were left for us. We paid for thoughtful service -- and instead, a bunch of idiots with high powered weed whackers turned up and destroyed our garden. They were a disaster. I was so excited to come home from home and find our courtyard looking nice -- and now I am gutted because it looks terrible. Do.Not.Hire. Oh -- and after I sent an email complaining, I received a reply saying that what we had gotten was what we had agreed to. What a crock. No one would have agreed to the disaster they left.

The two (2) man crew (Manuel and Raul) made short work of digging post holes that were loaded with rocks, installing and leveling posts, then adding the concrete, to the post holes. Early the next day Manuel and Raul made quick work of installing the metal panels and by midday, Raul was at the door saying "Mr. Vogler the fence job is complete and would you please check the work to see if everything meets your approval", which it did! Lots of back and forth about marking the water lines that run under the fence line between the meter and the house. I didn't want the project to start until those lines were marked and Rudy didn't care. Rudy told me installation could begin because he had clearance from the Tucson Water Department. But it turns out that the city only clears the line running to the meter, not the lines from the meter to the house. I found out, after calling 811 (Before You Dig), that the lines to the house are considered private and that I needed to hire a private contractor to locate the lines, which I did. Despite the lines having been marked, the crew broke one the first day on the job. Rudy told me it was an irrigation line (happens all the time according to him). After several unsuccessful attempts to fix the "irrigation line", a plumber was called hours later to fix the broken water line. All in all an extremely unpleasant experience with a happy ending -- a very nice fence.

They were very conscientious and completed things according to my every request. This seemed to be a different crew from last visits but it didn't matter, they were very well informed and answered all my questions. Good to know that all your crew are a reflection of how your company operates. They maintain our landscaping and irrigation system on a monthly basis, do every request, and get the job done in half the time of our previous company. Called Joe on Friday, scheduled me for a 40"X40"X4" slab the following Monday. Immediate responses on text, reasonably priced and was exactly on time at 6:30am. I increased the scope on site to cut out some old cement and remove a steel 4" pole cemented into the house foundation - had all the equipment with him to execute and upcharge was nominal and more than reasonable. I saw on Yelp that they were reading/reviewing the request when I sent it, multiple days before. Did they respond? No. I followed up with some irritation that despite being recommended, they are doing nothing. What irks me is that they say they will respond 100% of the time - which clearly isn't the case. Why would anyone want to do business with them, when they have zero desire to return any message at all? Normally I avoid these types of postings - with just complaining without seeing results - but folks need to be aware of this supposedly "service."

I am a resident of that community, and I was impressed enough with their work on our roads to hire them to correct a drainage problem and repave a portion of my very long driveway. When installing new pavement for our community roads, they did have an issue with one of their asphalt suppliers providing substandard material; however, they corrected the problem by replacing the substandard material. They also addressed any other issues brought to their attention by authorized community leaders. A minority of members of the La Cholla Airpark community did not want to incur the expense of replacing our exhausted roads, even though the majority of the community voted to do so. In my opinion, the internal community conflict over that expenditure has led some community members to unfairly characterize Pima Paving's work. I would use this long-standing Tucson business again. I informed him that I would not be home at the time he chose for installation, he said that would be no problem. But the install date came and no gates . I waited thirty days past install date and was told another month the gates would be finished. Numerous excuses and delays. Finally he showed up to install the very large and heavy gates alone. Being it was late in the afternoon he dropped off the gates and said he would return the next day. We noticed on one of the gates it was a foot too short also numerous areas that had damage. We took photos and sent them along with our concerns to him. His response was very angry and unprofessional , that's all I have to say about it. He came to our home the next day and took the gates and never returned to finish the job . So i even tried reaching out to have the job completed and was told no not interested too busy.
