Terrible experience. Had a turbo replaced and they failed to put coolant back in the engine causing me to overheat and be stuck on the side of the road. They came out and said it was only "down a little". Short time l later my engine has a host of issues and new shop says related to the overheating incident. Eagle said they had no liability in the incident. Would not recommend this shop to anyone. Lacks integrity. Does not return phone calls in a timely manner and distorts information to absolve themselves of any wrong doing. read more

GREAT SERVICE I orriginally came into the shop to get an allignment done on my 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500, and look into getting some new tires. When the mechanics began their work on the allignment, they encountered some issues with my CV drive line, front axle case, wheel hub bearing, and rear break issues... The quote was a pretty fair price for all the work they were going to do, and even reduced the total cost because I had just purchased tires from them. A week later I dropped off my pickup to get the work done, and they were able to get it all done in about half of a day. Although there was a small snafu with some communication, the staff made things right for the total cost. Overall, I would recommend this service shop to anyone who needs work done on their vehicle. Their staff is quite professional, kind, and explain the work/service to be done in a way that doesn't make you feel less intelligent. Under manager Phil, I had many excellent experiences with Eagle Tire Helena, buying tires for many vehicles, getting the free rotations, and having some other work done. Unfortunately since Phil retired some months ago, this shop has really gone downhill. When I had my free rotation and, as always, asked what tread depth they read, the guy totally lied to me, giving me a way too low reading I knew was wrong. I had him get the tool and check them as I watched, and sure enough I was right. I don't like lying employees. He obviously hadn't checked the tread as he's supposed to in the first place. More recently I called for a quote on some other new tires. The guy promised to call me back and now a week later, he still has not. I own multiple vehicles of all sorts. Hey Folks... So I just want to voice a few things here. I don't even know the owners of Eagle Tires, maybe he is jerk. But as far as his business goes...I have used their services twice in the last ten years. They have been out of bounds FANTASTIC both times. I could not have asked for better communication, integrity, and proactive treatment. And their prices were extremely reasonable. I have had NUMEROUS worse interactions with companies across the country servicing my car. As for Mike A, Larry H, and TL S 's reviews...I am fairly sure that all three of those profiles belong to someone or someones involved with Lewis and Clark Brewing, who just recently moved in next door to Eagle Tire, and apparently both companies have had disagreements about parking. Lewis and Clark Brewing: You should be ashamed of yourselves. Using yelp to defame your neighbors because you have had personal issues with them. Stop acting like an angry baby, and deal with your neighbors like people. read more

I really like Eagle Tire! I have gone to them for 15 years. I feel they are honest, keep you safe, decently price, and up hold their price quotes. As a single woman, its sometimes intimidating to get your car fix. Lucky for me, I took three years of autos in high school.... I never have felt they've tried to take advantage of me. Just today, I had my power steering pump fixed. I was quoted $275. I got there and was told $350. I politely asked why and told him my quote. Phil, who I have ALWAYS had good interactions with, dicounted me $61. Kept me within budget. I can understand where they have space issues with the brewery next door. Don't do it!!! The owner, Phil, is a complete jerk. A while back, I went in to have my tires rotated, which I purchased the life time American Car Care road hazard on, and he told the gal at the front desk to charge me for the rotation. This is after I told him that I had the road hazard and left my information packet on the dash for him. The gal at the front desk waited for him to leave and then didn't charge me. He treats his customers and his neighbors the same way, HORRIBLE!!! read more

I went in there to ask about some maintenance on my car and, after checking it out, they did one quick fix, told me I didn't need all the other stuff I had been told, and didn't charge me for what they fixed since it was so simple! I've been taking my car to Eagle Tire for about 16 years now and I have to say this is a great small business! As long as I can remember they have been doing business in Helena. The larger big name tire shops have a hard time competing with an owner and employees who strive to help the customer in every-way they can. I've shopped around town and have realized I'm always going to get a good deal and excellent service at Eagle Tire. I had to stop by one last time before I moved and wanted to thank them for all those years of quality service. I'm a little confused by the earlier posts about the owner treating his neighbors poorly. Usually cars are parked for longer than normal periods of time because they are broken. I found that post kind of strange. Eagle Tire is the best one stop shop in Helena for all your auto needs. The staff is always honest and straightforward with you. And I always feel at ease taking my car to a trustworthy tire shop! If you are in need of auto care give Eagle Tire a try. I highly recommend it! read more

Had tire issues on my RV when I was in Helena visiting about a year ago. Eagle fixed me right up. I have since notice a slow leak on one of my tires, nothing major. I am again visiting in Helena and asked EAGLE if they would check this leak. They dismounted the tire, cleaned the bead, replaced the valve stem and remounted the tire - cost? NOTHING! You don't get this kind of customer care in California where I'm from. And, by-the-way, Phil's a great guy! read more

There have been some positive changes at Eagle Tire since I reviewed them about a year ago in Feb 2013. They no longer park their company vehicles on the areas closest to Lewis & Clark Brewery and just over all they seem to be a better corporate neighbor. Sometimes people change for the better. I have begun to take my rig there again, most recently for an alignment and a slow leak repair. Same high quality work as I've always received there except for one tune-up when they were new to providing that service. When my current set of Bridgestone Duelers wears out, I'll be right in to see 'em again. read more

I took my car in to get checked because the brakes were squeaking. They replaced one set of brake pads, but the squeaking kept getting worse. I took it into a different place soon after, and they told me the other break pads were what was causing the squeaking and needed to be replaced asap. They also looked at the job done by Eagle Tire and found some issues. The staff wasn't very friendly either, so I would recommend spending a little bit more at a different place to get a quality job done. read more

I went into Eagle Tire looking for new brakes. After the inspection, they informed me that I, in fact, did not need new brakes. They put air into my tires, cleaned my break pads and didn't charge me a cent. I went in there with full intentions on purchasing new breaks but they were honest and told me I did not need them. Integrity and honesty to this degree doesn't really exist anymore. Next time I really do need my car worked on, I am coming here. read more

We have kicked ourselves over and over that we did not take our car to Jason over at Guaranteed Muffler. He probably would have saved us a butt load of money but telling us not to put money into this POS we had just purchased used. Eagle Tire, however, was quite eager to roll up their sleeves....and wander back and forth from the service bay area to the service (and I use that term loosely) desk. I kept wondering. Seriously, I thought state workers had a corner on the market for milling workers but the honors need to go to Eagle Tire. I thought the action was picking up steam when I saw about 6 of them gather around a table in the shop area. Are they going to do some idiotic team building exercise before they begin work? I wondered. I inquired about our car. The guy had no idea. It wasn't in the shop. OMG. I could go on and on. The final surprise came with a bill a few hundred over the quoted price. (We had the printed estimate in hand.) Two of the front desk people tried to suss out the reason for the increase and after about 10-15 minutes of shuffling, head scratching and puzzled looks, we found out why. Something else was broken. To their credit, they did reduce the bill. But they forgot to fix another issue. So it was back to watching the tennis game. GAH! What was most infuriating though was this. We were heading out on a 1,000 mile drive after retrieving the Demon Car. The first hiccup happened in Dillon. Stalling out. That really warms a mother's heart when her 16-year-old, who is driving, gets to experience that. It was one of the reasons we brought it in in the first place. We managed to get it down to AZ where the $%^& now sits unable to drive. After shelling out over $2K in repairs for a car that should have been brought to the junk pile (again, Jason at Guaranteed Muffler would have told us) we are hoping to off load this thing to some soul who enjoys the thrill of unexpected break downs and expensive repairs. In time, this will be a humorous story (I'll regale you later about how hubby backed the Demon Car out of a parking lot Fred Flintstone style because the broken linkage) but for now we just have a cautionary tale. I'm very disappointed with Eagle Tire's customer service. The people at the front desk are often surely to the point of being rude and most times don't seem to have a clue about what's going on. Today, my husband dropped off our car because it had a flat tire and since we bought the tires from Eagle, they were under warranty. When I called to see if the car was ready, the person on the phone told me he didn't know. I told him my name and the make of car. He said he didn't know and that there was no paperwork on it. He said he figured the car was probably ready to go. I asked if we owed them anything. He said he didn't know. I asked him how I could find out and he begrudgingly said he'd go check. After several minuted on hold, he came back and, with no level of urgency, told me he couldn't find my car. I told him to please find my car and that I'd call him back in the few minutes. When I called back he said he didn't know anything more. I asked him again to please locate my car. He said, "Well, I guess I could look out back." After several more minuted on hold, he came back and said, "Your care is done." When I tried to ask followup questions about what had been done and if we owed anything he acted very annoyed and rushed off the phone. I CAN NOT believe the low level of service. If someones car is missing, a shop should do everything in their power to remedy the situation! read more

I had a wonderful experience with Phil (the owner and/or manager) before I purchased new tires, having various discussions with him over a number of months regarding which tires to purchase. (I'm very picky about my tires.) Now that I have tires from Eagle, I went in for the first free (included with purchase) rotation. I was in and out within ten minutes and the tech who did the rotation went out of his way to confirm I had gotten the little form (for warranty proof) filled out and signed before I left. Very friendly people, very efficient. And when I had done some price comparing before purchasing tires, they came out ahead of others who sold the brands I was looking at. read more

I've been doing business with Phil and Eagle Tire for 37 years, since I graduated from high school in 1976, the year they opened. I have them do tire repairs, front-end alignments, brakes, engine problems, almost anything I've needed done to repair vehicles they can and have done for 37 years. They've been there after hours and on weekends when I needed help and even worked on my old RV to keep it safe and road worthy. Don't tell me Phil is a jerk, and that they don't care about their customers, that's bogus. People who write negative reviews about this business have ulterior motives and while I won't get into that, they have been prompted to write negative reviews that are simply made up. Go into Eagle Tire, ask for Phil, introduce yourself, and then tell him about all the negative comments on Yelp and ask him to explain them. If you don't believe him, if you have a bad experience (you won't), then by all means opine. But that crap I'm reading on Yelp about Phil and his business is garbage, and you can bank on that. Eagle has been an incredibly strong supporter in the community, and everywhere you look they are sponsoring kids activities, or donating to different causes. I've been doing business with Phil longer than most of these negative posters have been alive, and if you believe the filth they are spewing forth, then you don't deserve to be a customer of his. People who say bad things about this business are motivated to do so by those who would do harm to Phil and his business for devious and specious purposes. Don't believe it.
