The drive is treacherous, but we felt entirely comfortable knowing the driver was so familiar with the road and seeing how carefully he drove. I was in quite a pickle. My car was buried under a mountain of snow in the driveway of an Airbnb that had been plowed in such a way that completely boxed me in. There was no way to maneuver and it was impossible to get my chains on. Enter Eagle Towing. Jennifer worked hard to get me some help and was lovely and calm throughout the whole situation. And Art, the tow truck driver that came to help me, was patient, kind and very skillful as he towed my car out of the driveway and calmly walked me through my snow chain install. Are you ready for a story? You can get some tea, I'll wait... Ok, I had to be in Shaver Lake for work and knew it had snowed recently, so I brought some tire chains. The 168 was plowed, so no issues until I turn onto Music Creek Ln. Then it becomes apparent that the road is still hiding under a few inches of snow. So I put on my chains even though I'm not that good at it and make my way to the very end of Sunset Rock Rd. Where the driveway to the house I was going to had not been shoveled at all. One of my chains comes off as I'm trying to turn the car around, because this is a skinny little road. No mind, I have a shovel and can fix it. Not an easy task, but I get it done once I'm done with my business at the house. I get about 2 houses down the road and end up stuck in an icy dip in the road. The chains are still on but they just won't move the car. I put on my big girl pants and decide to ask a stranger for help (typical millennial, I know). I knock on the door of the nearest house with a car in the driveway and LO! someone is there and he helps me. So SHOUT OUT to the random neighbor on Sunset Rock Ln for helping a super upset lady move her car. He tightens the chains and gets me out of the dip. I happily go on my way (Narrator: she was not happy for long). Turns out, a slight incline covered in snow is no match for last minute tire chains. I get stuck trying to go uphill. I try getting help from my car insurance, because towing is part of my premium and they say they contract with enough people to get you help within 90 minutes. Well, apparently, they don't contract with pretty much the only tow company in Shaver Lake. Because they said someone would be there to help me...IN 4 HOURS. So I text one of the people I had been working with for this order, and she recommends Eagle. I call them up (side note: amazing cell service in Shaver Lake), get an immediate answer, and a quote to be pulled out of there with a 4WD vehicle in 15 minutes for $150. They can't get their large tow truck to turn around on the narrow roads in that development. Well, you don't have to ask me twice, I had more work to do and did not fancy being stuck in the snow, blocking a public road, for the next 4 hours. The two gentlemen who came to my aid were incredibly amiable, did not make me feel silly for getting stuck at all (which I was already feeling), and knew exactly what they were doing and how to direct me for steering my car while it was being pulled. We got back to the highway, they took my card info, and they bid me safe driving. Oh! and the next house I had to go to was up the road a bit and they had personal knowledge of the road conditions there so I was able to complete my work with confidence and without getting stuck in the snow again. My only regret is I didn't take any pictures, since I was too busy being distraught. But Eagle came to the rescue and knocked it out of the park. 10/10 would recommend. read more

After 52 hours of excuses I gave up and called a Fresno tow service. I am a 25 year resident and I have never been treated by a local company as I was by Eagle tow. Excuse after excuse , no call back after repeated commitments to do so . Tow service from Fresno charged my insurance $392 for 18 minutes of work . You lose Eagle Tow ! Missed opportunity. read more

We were driving up 168 just near Huntington Lake and got a flat. Our car was packed full and the tire looked terrible. Some trail angels help change to our emergency tire and suggested we head back to Shaver Lake for a tire. AAA tried to help but the shop was closing and the tire would have to come from Fresno. Eagle Towing, but more specifically, Eric was wonderful and towed us to Clovis. Excellent service, company and talked us through the repair process. It was an interruption to our trip, but turned out fine. read more

If you can avoid it DO NOT call Eagle towing for any help. I am an EXTREMELY unhappy consumer and community member about a situation that happened to me yesterday. While on my weekly Kaiser Pass trip , two lug nuts snapped on my wheel. Being a AAA plus member for years, I called in for a tow which they assigned Eagle towing. I didn't have very good service and was told by AAA that a tow was on the way. I sat for 2 hours waiting for Eagle Towing to show up when a voicemail popped on my phone. They would not come and get me unless I paid them $900 up front !!!!!!!!!!!!!! $300/hr even though I'm a triple AAA member and a lifelong local community member!!! I don't have a credit card because I think they are bad. AAA only covers to the elephant gate , okay I get that-- but the amount of tow they weren't going to cover was under 10 miles and Eagle refused to get me unless I paid them $300/hr past the gate and said it would take 3 hours !!!!!! I have gone up Kaiser pass thousands of times since I was in diapers there is no freaking way it takes 3 hours from the elephant gate nor is it bad enough to charge $300/hr. I've been on that road in cattle trucks, friends tow trucks, almost any rig possible I have been on Kaiser pass... Granite trash and propane takes their rigs back there almost weekly. It it outrageous and ridiculous. I explained to them I work in shaver and I don't have a credit card and they ended up leaving me and my son stranded for FIVE FREAKING hours even though I was in distress and they were going to get paid by AAA for over 75% of the tow. I understand we all have to make a living but at what point is this unethical monopolizing business price gouging! Not to mention leaving a fellow community member single mother and child stranded over a couple hundred bucks with absolutely no compassion helping out each other how we are supposed to do with our local community. They put me in a position to be forced to drive out Kaiser pass with half my lug nuts and a wobbly tire possibly causing an accident and loss of life. I have had to get towed out of my cabin in Sequoia National Park before which is by far 10x longer one lane road and 10x rougher road and it only cost me $300 TOTAL for over 100 miles of which half was a one lane Unmaintained road. $300/hour is RIDICULOUS ! It is 300% over the national average TOTAL towing costs. As defined by the Better Business Bureau and California Consumer State Laws this is unfair price gouging . I'm very disappointed that a local company treats people in this manner and takes advantage of people in their misfortune even when AAA members. Eagle Towing will never ever get a dime from me, my AAA, or my insurance EVER nor from my friends or family . I will make sure to share my horrible experience with everyone possible. Do not use Eagle Towing, call a friend with a trailer instead. Don't waste money or your time waiting FIVE hours for nothing like I did. I call upon anyone that would like to make some extra money to please start your own tow company up here so we can end this Eagle towing monopoly price gouging to our local residents. On Oct 21 , 2018 our Expedition broke down at Kaiser Pass near Shaver Lake, and required a significant distance tow to Fresno. Eagle Towing provided us with great Sunday service, and made what could have been a bit of a disaster into a bit of an adventure. Very disappointed. We were minutes away from you guys and you turned us down about hauling our truck and trailer. What you guys couldn't do.. Eppler towing did. You don't realize how upset I was to get a call from AAA dispatch and them telling us you guys can't tow us. My van decided to freak out and refuse to start due to extreme elevation change over 9000 ft at Mono Hotsprings! AAA would not come out on the 16 mile treacherous one lane roads because they aren't county maintained. Eagle towing sent out Cody and he was pretty quickly considering the driving conditions. They charge $150 an hour for this kind of service but honestly I was amazed at how skillfully he maneuvered that giant truck through extremely twisty cliff edged roads. I never felt that I was being taken advantage of and Cody came across as an honest and decent fellow with good values and no intention of trying to take advantage of our misfortune. He even gave some mechanical advice and when we were dropped off at the mechanics as it was closing the area and its peoples seemed pretty sketchy so he drove us over to a safer part of town where we could hang out safely while we figured out what to do. We were two ladies and a teenager and he seemed very protective. I have had quite the opposite experience with truck drivers and we really lucked out. If you get stuck around that area call these guys if you want to deal with honest caring people who will make having your car towed a less traumatic experience than most. read more
