Where Eagle soars....Bluestar blew...chunks! Despite promises of discounted round trips, Jamie W. and I waited in the chill of a Portland autumn on a cold silver bench at the airport. We waited and waited for the Bluestar Airporter to come, but it never did. We received the taunts of other company limo drivers for our ill-conceived patience. We finally reached our breaking point and asked the driver of the Eagle Towncar Service to take us to town. He charged the standard $14 (add $2 if you use a credit card) and took us directly to our hotel downtown. Not only that but the driver generously returned with the black bag I forgot to pick up on the way out. I was so cold and tired that I forgot I even had the bag. That driver deserves five stars for exhibiting the integrity I now associate with Portland. As it turned out, the Bluestar round trip ticket would have been a wasted expense since we discovered it only cost $2.05 to take the Tri-Met train back to the airport. Bluestar. Blue balls....Eagle. I've used Eagle Town Car many times over the past several years, and they have always been on time, with pristine, comfortable vehicles and professional, courteous drivers. If they weren't reliable, I wouldn't keep using them. It's hard to reconcile my experience with all the complaints here. I'm sure this company - like every other human endeavor - occasionally falls short of perfection, but seriously, I'd estimate I've relied on them around 10-15 times and they've never been less than 100%. Last night our flight arrived 4hours late - at 1:30 AM, and our driver was right there waiting when we emerged from baggage claim. To be clear, I emailed them when I found out our flight was delayed, but even so, we ultimately arrived over an hour later than the first estimate. I wasn't worried, because these guys have always been where I wanted, when I needed them. If I had a bad first experience with a town car service, I might write a negative review, and I'd for sure take my business elsewhere and never look back - there are always other alternatives available. But I've had a positive experience with Eagle Town Car every single time, so I'm sticking with them. read more

Booked a week ahead for a 4am trip to PDX. The company called to confirm the day beforehand. The driver showed up a little bit early and called up to tell us he had arrived and took us to the airport. Like most taxi drivers in the city he was on his Bluetooth the entire time, but he was nice enough to talk softly as to not jar our sleepy minds. The rate was pretty standard, but they were prompt, courteous and dependable. The "dependable" part is why I'd never count on a taxi to get me to the airport in the wee hours. In a city that doesn't offer 24 hour public transit, and with most budget tickets flying out at absurd hours, you simply need to take a shuttle sometime. I plan to use them again next week. read more

I called several days in advance to arrange a car to take us to the airport. They were to be at our house at 1:15 pm. That time came and went. I called the same number I'd called to book the car and could only reach a message service. I called again when they still had not even called me ten minutes later. We ended up throwing our luggage in the car, driving ourselves, and barely making our international flight. I still have not even heard an apology from the company for their mistake. This is a tale of two cities. About a month ago, Eagle was supposed to pick me up very early (before 5 am) and take me to the airport. But they didn't. The driver forgot and I was in the lurch. Had to drive myself and leave my car at the airport for three weeks. Sounds like a horror story. BUT, while on my trip I called Eagle and the owner profusely apologized and reimbursed me for any expenses incurred beyond what I would have paid him. He took full responsibility for his actions (or inaction in this case). Based on that, which is somewhat rare among businesses, I consider him a man of honor and accept that his failure with me was highly unusual and would not happen again. Consequently, I'm giving the company a high rating and, personally, will try Eagle again the next time I need a ride to the airport. read more

Excellent service, called to change my pickup time, no problem, driver called me about the traffic accident on his way over, no problem, took the correct street route directly to PDX avoiding the horrible freeway. Nice ride. Would use this service again. read more

My husband and have bought a house in Portland and are in the crunch time of moving from the San Francisco Bay Area. Yesterday, I drove my pick-up to the house, spent the night, and today I needed a ride to the airport, on one of the most insane holiday traffic days of the year. The driver was on time, engaging and polite, and knew her way around Portland so well that she was able to take alternate routes to get us out of the parking lot that the freeways had become. I was at the airport in plenty of time. I will absolutely use them again when my husband and I travel in the future. read more

Eagle does a great job! We have used them several times. They are always on time and get us home quickly, even if we reserve the just day beforehand. They are courteous and the cars are clean. One driver seems to smoke in the car, so we will ask ahead next time. But otherwise, we are very happy with Eagle Town Car. read more

These guys are THE WORST. If you read through the reviews you will notice that "no shows" are their specialty. I had them booked to pick us up at home for an event and then wait for us until the event was over. When they did not not show for the pick up, I called only to be told "my mistake, I will call you back", which they did not do. I called them back and they said someone was on the way. 40 minutes later they arrived, only it was a 16-year old kid with a goofy top-hat. I had to give him directions, he nearly got us broad-sided and when we finally arrived at the event, I told him to leave, as we would make other arrangements to return. I later went outside the venue, and he was still there. I again told him to leave and he said "My Dad told me I should wait", and so I told him to do whatever he wanted, but we were through using them for the evening. They charged my Visa $260 for a one-way $15 cab ride with a likely unlicensed driver. They would NOT issue us a credit despite nearly ruining our evening. DON'T USE THEM. read more

Yet another no show story to add to the pile (I should have read the Yelp reviews prior to booking with them). I had scheduled a 4:30am pickup and after they didn't show, I called them. I likely woke up the owner who put me on hold, then came back on the line to tell me that "the e-mail to his driver didn't go through" (is that a thing?) and that the driver would not be showing up. Unbelievable. He briefly apologized and then I had to scramble to get myself to the airport so that I didn't miss my flight. Most surprising is that he did not call me back later in the day (when he was awake) to further apologize and do some damage control. I will not be using them again. read more

I am giving Eagle only 1 star because they didn't show up. I called and made a reservation for myself and my fiancé to get picked up from the airport. We were eloping and besides having 2 large bags we had a wedding dress and wanted to arrive to our first destination in style. I thought it was weird when I called and was told they didn't need my credit card for the reservation but followed the directions I was left with and found the location where we were supposed to have the car waiting. as we were walking to the car I noticed a silver towncar that had the Eagle logo on it. I was a little disappointed because it was pretty junky and I was expecting something nicer and black. When I walked up to the car I noticed a family getting in it so I asked the driver if there was another one coming. He took my name and confirmed that there was no reservation under my name. So annoyed with the whole situation. I wouldn't recommend them based on my experience with them and based on the condition of the car I did see. read more

I was quite pleased with my recent experience hiring a car with Eagle Towncar. We live out in the country and it's sometimes difficult to find our house. My driver arrived exactly on time (i.e. 5 minutes before we were scheduled.) He drove carefully to the airport and was open to my suggestions for the route. On the return, my flight into Las Vegas was late so that I missed the connection. No problem. When I gave them the new flight information, a driver was waiting at the airport for me. Both drivers were pleasant, not overly talkative but quite interesting when I wanted to engage them in conversation. read more

Tried these guys and they were late and unreliable and unprofessional. Not recommended for business travel. . I was in my driveway 5 mins early and waited 10 mins. I called and was told there was no way to reach the driver by cell or radio (really?). Then transferred to be left on hold. I finally hung up &I ended up driving myself. I finally got a call 40 minutes late. Driver claimed he was parked across the street but I saw no one in the parking lot which is about 10ft away from my drive. Did he not see me loading cases into my car? Also. Over priced! read more

We have used Eagle Towncar probably more than 10 times since 2005 and they have been fantastic. They are the most professional car service we have ever used. They always answer the phone when I call unlike other companies I have called that always go to voicemail. They call back to verify things or confirm reservations, if necessary. They are always on time. They know the best route to take everywhere. The cars are clean. The drivers are very professional. They have always been able to accommodate us even with just 12 hours notice. I highly recommend Eagle Towncar. read more

I would say that Eagle Towncar is operated at a very high level. The cars are clean and comfortable, the drivers are neat, well groomed, and courteous. I have used Eagle Towncar about 10 times each year for the last 10 years. That is about 100 times, so I think I have had enough exposure to their service.
