She had to go all the way to Eugene which is a two hour ride. I found Portland Luxury on Yelp and the owner Billy put me and my wife at ease. He tracked my daughters flight information, picked her up directly at the airport and texted her before she landed with all of the directions on where to meet. He even texted me when he picked her up and at the end of the ride to confirm she arrived safely. I am from the New York area and did not have a connection in Portland but I am so great full for Billy and Portland Luxury. Kawika was our driver and boy did he have a challenging bunch of rowdies to deal with! He was so incredibly nice, accommodating, punctual, thoughtful, helpful, FUN, patient...the list goes on and on. We chose an awesome 26 person party limo that was to include all the bells and whistles (Bluetooth stereo, lights and what not) and purchased decorations and set up the playlist for our guests. Literally 5 minutes before the limo bus was to arrive, we get a call from (a supervisor?) Sarah saying that there was a mechanical issue with our limo and that they would be sending an alternative one. Well, what arrived was a 50 person charter bus with no working Bluetooth radio. I had to run in my house and grab a small handheld Bluetooth radio just so we didn't ride in silence. And while it was nice to have a larger bus, it was actually too big. People were so spread out with the traditional seating, we weren't able to socialize (the whole point of us choosing the other style). Our driver Raul was fantastic and the bus was clean and stocked with plenty of water, but he arrived late and we didn't leave on time. That ended up cutting our first stop's time by 30 minutes. Also, we had a strange situation happen where the back door blew open while we were on a bridge and our driver had to pull over to close it. Pretty wild waving to the cars riding behind us while in motion. While our event was salvaged by our understanding party goers and a happy birthday guy, I am deeply upset with the switcheroo I felt was played on us. I didn't want to go online and complain but we did not get any follow-up from an email sent requesting a partial refund as we didn't get what we prepaid for. $2k is a lot of money to be spending on a basic bus with no stereo. I would not recommend this service as they didn't provide the product paid for, and they didn't try to right the situation afterwards. 1 star for the friendly driver and clean bus and water.

My friends and decided to visit Portland for the weekend. For some, it was their first time there,…read moreso I wanted to take them around to see the city, eat donuts, and drink beer. Since we had multiple stops and there were 15 of us including 3 toddlers, it would have been a huge hassle to call so many Ubers/Lyfts. Not to mention all the heavy car seats that we would have had to carry with us to each location. My solution: renting a private bus! I reached out to multiple shuttle companies, but Shanghai really stood out to me. Dusty responded almost immediately and was very helpful in providing details about their pricing and buses. While my main goal was really just to safely and efficiently get my group to the various spots, it was a plus that Shanghai's bus also included a karaoke machine. Once we decided on the terms and details, Dusty sent over a contract within the next few days. The morning of our ride, Dusty texted to let me know our bus was on the way. Our driver, Ron, arrived a few minutes early, so by our reservation start time, we were all set to go. He was professional, kind and drove cautiously. As it was raining, I appreciated that he dropped us off as close as he safely could at each location, and then picked us back up when we were ready to continue to the next spot. The cooler was also stocked with ice, as promised. We ended up riding the Solid Gold bus, which is literally a converted school bus. I must admit this was very different from our typical sprinter party bus experience. For one, I had never ridden a party bus with kids before, and blasting "Wheels On The Bus" instead of dance music was such a different vibe. Lol! The bus was unique and had a vintage feel -- very Portland. Given our situation, I actually preferred this over the dark, tinted windows of the sprinters we are used to. The Solid Gold allowed us to see the city during our rides. We got a lot of stares every time we pulled up to a donut shop or brewery, but it was a fun experience. Everyone had a great time, especially the kids who now point out every bus that passes by on the street and say they want to go back to the party bus!
