Loved this place! I had the turkey and bacon sandwich, and my fiancé had the philly cheese steak sandwich. They were both delicious! Mine was more fresh, while his was rich and a little heavy, but both full of flavour. I highly recommend both sandwiches. We also got iced coffees. Mine was an iced latte with almond milk. As I am from Australia, our sugar syrups are a little different, so I asked the barista which was better out of the honey sugar syrup or regular sugar syrup. She suggested the honey, as well as a bit of cinnamon too. Such a great combo! I think I will have to have this everywhere now lol. It was definitely the best coffee I have had in the US. My fiancé got the iced americano drip/ brew coffee, which is again different than in Australia, and it was also the best of it's kind that I have had in the US. If you're looking for a quick decent breakfast in Greenpoint, Eagle Trading is a decent choice. My husband and I each got the Breakfast Burrito ($8) which comes with eggs, avocado, pico, pepperjack cheese, spinach, beans, corn, and salsa picante. We each chose to add a meat to our burrito - me sausage and him bacon ($2 upcharge). We sat outside as it was was a great overcast day and there sidewalk seating is very nice. We were served our food pretty quickly in a little red basket with some hot sauce. The burritos were decent - a lot of spinach but decent nonetheless. The sausage was far superior to the bacon so if you like both go with the sausage. I'm not the worlds biggest fan of breakfast so I feel like it needs to stir my soul to make me want to go back and this really didn't. It was good and fast but nothing special to me. At the risk of sounding cliched, the hidden (coffeeshop) gem of Greenpoint! Need to grab a quick bite? Need solid coffee to get you going? Need to get just put your head down and get some work done in a calm open setting? The answer to everything is ETC! My favorite place to get work done (and I can get sidetracked easy). The coffee is great and the ambience is very calming. The sandwiches are just right for a quick bite. If you find that perfect table by the corner, you can settle in for the long haul with good food and coffee. They also shut at 6 pm so it forces you to get your work done quick! I stopped by here with my wife to grab some coffee and work on my computer. The coffee is really good, the music selection is nice but not too loud, and it has a vintage look to the place. They also have a variety of salads, sandwiches, etc that look great, but I didn't eat anything this time. We came around lunchtime and it was a little crowded but mellowed out in the afternoon. If you're looking to use electronics, they have some plugs by their tables but none along the window seating. They have free wifi and there is plenty of street parking in the area. I dog sit in this neighborhood a lot throughout the year. Sometimes for a week, sometimes a weekend, or somewhere in between. However, no matter how many days Im in the neighborhood, i ALWAYS visit/order from eagle trading. Their service is great, their decor is wonderful, and the food is tasty! I order something new i think everytime. I've had the turkey avocado sandwich, buffalo chicken, meatball sub, and tots. I also love that they have coke in glass bottles. Came in today to get some work done and enjoy some coffee and breakfast. Had the A4 which has turkey, avocado, tomato, egg and spinach on a baguette with a large cafe mocha. The sandwich was delicious. The baguette was fresh, chewy yet crispy. If you don't wish to have your sandwich on a baguette, you could choose one of a few other choices they have daily like wraps or 7 grain bread etc. By the way my coffee was very good. The barista was doing her thang! Anywho, like I said I came to get some work done but I didn't see any outlets to charge my laptop while I worked so I didn't stay as long as I anticipated. I lugged myself and my laptop to this place near the end of Greenpoint for some different scenery to watch my Amy Schumer videos in (besides the cavern of my room). It was a nice atmosphere to relax in- very hipster with its communal seating, vintage decor, and hip servers. I ordered the smoked salmon & avocado sandwich with arugula, tomato, cucumber, and beet horseradish on a baguette, along with a blueberry iced tea. The beet horseradish was either indistinguishable or not there at all, but the sandwich was very tasty otherwise. The blueberry iced tea was refreshing. Service was great. Great sandwiches! We got the meatball sub, which was super tasty though could have used a tad more sauce, the wasabi tuna melt, sweet potato fries, tatartots and an Arnold Palmer . Came here to meet someone for an interview. The coffee was decently strong and their avocado toast was on point. There is plenty of seating for you to eat there. Also seemed like a great place to study. It has a very industrial feel, which goes with the area. The only downside is that it was very cold instead, definitely want to keep your coat on if it's cold out (it was snowy the day I went). The interior is cement, so the cold makes sense. I loved the E.T.C! I will definitely be coming back here. I must say I was torn between all of their scrumptious-sounding menu options. I ended up going for the somewhat classic M7 sandwich (turkey, swiss, cranberry, arugula, dijonnaise) which was nothing short of delightful. Very fresh and tasty. Enough about me though. Not only does this place serve some of the best coffee in Brooklyn, its range of imported beers and exotic sandwiches/meals is drop-dead delicious. I love eagle trading. This is my go to for a delicious breakfast and coffee. It's so convenient right around the corner from me. You know everything is super fresh because you do have to wait a little bit for your order to be ready, but it's definitely worth the wait. The avocado toast with a fried egg is outstanding! This is a nice spot for lunch. Everything you'd expect from a place called Eagle Trading Company in Brooklyn. Staff is pretty chill, it's all very nice and clean. Only reason they get four stars is because a co-worked had an issue after we ate here with his payment a few months ago. He had tipped $8 but somehow they charged him an extra $28 instead and he had to dispute it with his bank. Seemed like a lot of trouble for some avocado toast. TGI Fridays of being a hipster. Everything is so perfectly done to fit the hipster mold, the old looking signs on the wall, the fonts, the menu. Plastic vintage. It's just so soulless. There are a bunch of hotels around here, and I can see how people may adore this if they are not from NY and the ratings are so high, but it's all just so contrived. It's so perfectly contrived. Food was fine, but the sandwich was so sanitary. It was like each element of my egg sandwich was done on an assembly line, it didn't meld together at all. It was just like this place, all the elements were presented but it didn't have any soul to it. I do not know the owners or the backstory. Maybe it's a mom and pop, I don't know. If it is, they should just be themselves and not do exactly what they think they should. I really can't believe all the 5-star ratings. They must be friends, paid, blind or just green. read more

On my way to Cafe Grumpy I saw this place and the parking right near it so I decided to change my plans. I sat at the bar with a friend. The barista asked us for drinks and, this is the only thing that bothered me, she took her order and went to make it without asking for mine. But it was fine we were not rushed. My friend got an ice coffee with almond milk and I got a cortado with almond milk. The almond milk that they use here is sweetened. I really like the cortado; from the definitions I saw that a cortado was espresso with little steamed milk but it is half the amount of milk in a latte. My friend ordered the b7 sandwich without turkey and it had avocado, egg, cheese, tomato and arugula. I got two fruit cups (has blueberries, raspberries, bananas, strawberries, and grapes) because they are quite small but are only $3 each. The decor is really cute and the workers are nice. This place has so much charm and so much potential. The truth is, the food just isn't that amazing. We dropped in for breakfast sandwiches and coffee on a weekday morning. The ambiance was relaxed with a TON to look at. I couldn't get enough and just loved it! However, the egg sandwiches we ordered were boring and sort of greasy. I wasn't impressed and had trouble finishing it up. I'm glad they serve Toby's because the coffee was spot on. I also loved the variety on the menu and would want to try some of their other options in addition to breakfast. I'll be back but probably to try something beyond breakfast. Yes to their food. I order from here consistently and it is always great! I love the chicken gorgonzola salad, their breakfasts are good, and my kid loves their options - I also like the decor and ambiance, plus the owner is super nice. Most if not all of the menu items are really tasty, though I am not a fan of their coffees and teas. Somehow, despite a great, big, fancy cappuccino machine, the espresso-based drinks are just meh (though since they do not advertise themselves as a coffee shop, I am willing to overlook it). The hot teas are good but the iced teas can be a bit more creative / flavorful. Otherwise, A+ for food and service to this great community asset. read more

This place has everything you could want from a corner spot that sells sandwiches and coffee. It's open and airy and incredibly clean and well decorated. The staff and owner are friendly. It's always easy to find a seat and the sandwiches are great with a minimal wait time. I favor the wasabi tuna melt which is the best tuna melt I've had yet. Kinda spicy and doesn't feel greasy or heavy. All the other sandwiches I've had here have also been killer. Meat, fish and vegetarian sandwiches galore. Also: very solid fruit cup. This place is great. I'm coming here three to five times a week. If you're in Greenpoint and are a sandwich connoisseur you have to go here. The coffee is also awesome. Only issue is that several sandwiches have golden raisins in them and it's not mentioned on the menu. I hate raisins. read more
