Zero stars. Went for the cigar social with a friend. I was harassed by security the minute I walked inside. I was told that I had to have my id scanned for a count for the door and to see if I was "banned". There's 8 customers in the whole place. I will never go back. This bar is all about the travelling circuit crowd. They don't give a shit about the locals or the gay community. Don't waste your money there. You'll get bad drinks and bad service. After 4 bar/nightclub attempts in maybe 6 years at this single door, no window storefront, the present owner has hit the mark. Eagle Wilton Manors has managed to tame the large space by creating 3 distinct bar rooms along with the dance floor and stage. Similar to other Eagle gay bars around the world, the ambience is dark, masculine, testosterone-fueled, cruisy and sexy. The DJ music is deep and loud, but not as ear-drum shattering as other bars on the Drive. The almost exclusively male venue attracts a racially and age diverse crowd that doesn't mind taking their shirts off (usually mandatory in the intimate Code Room bar Wednesday thru Saturday). Many guys wear leather or colored harnesses. Signs posted in the Code Room indicate NO cell phones allowed, but security is constantly admonishing oblivious guys to shut them. The Eagle somehow has managed to be the most poplar bar on Monday nights with the weekly jockstrap night, plus a crowded underwear night on Wednesdays. Lockers are available for a nominal fee. Thankfully no smoking inside, but it is allowed in the covered back patio. The managers and bartenders are among the most welcoming crew on the Drive. They strive to make all feel comfortable in their own skins and fetishes. There is even an Eagle Leathers store onsite. The only complaint I hear from friends is the more-often-than-not weekend cover charge for 'special events' which seem to be almost every weekend. Too bad they appear to have dropped the 'free for FL residents' offer. Another worry...their pandemic Sunday Bloody Marys were absolutely the best in South Florida, full of fixins' but I have seen it lately. Eagle Wilton Manors is one of many bars, no there is no franchise or trademark, using the name "Eagle" which has long been associated with the gay leather community and since the early 70's. Eagle bars have long been considered a safe space for the leather lifestyle. Fort Lauderdale area once had five leather bars, but dropped to one long term survivor, the Ramrod, which exists in all of its glory today. The big difference I find with Eagle Wilton Manors is that unlike the Ramrod or most other leather bars is that it prohibits smoking, so there are no cigar night themes and you won't end up smelling like an ashtray; a welcome relief for me. When I stopped by I was delighted to find that Eagle Wilton Manors was sticking to leather lifestyle traditions with its "Code Room" dark bar wherein you are required to be shirtless or in leather. Overall it's a great place with a colorful décor and pleasant bar staff. It has a leather store and pretty much sticks with the correct background music. And though it has a "no phone" policy, you really can't enforce it on the violating queens. Unfortunately, as with all of Wilton Manors, parking can be problematic. read more

So a dude came out of no where telling me I was ugly and useless. (I don't think I'm ugly). I mentioned this to a security person and they did nothing to remove him. Very threatening. Very abusive. The situation became very unsafe real fast. So I left. I told the front door guy and a security person who seemed disinterested. So much for security. They are good at walking around. They are poor as to what to do in a situation. I will call 911 myself if I ever have that situation again. Three stars since the bartenders are nice and very attentive. Good bye Eagle. I've been to the Eagle twice and the staff are always friendly. That all said tonight was my second night and had the chance to meet Rick - he's an incredible bartender and very personable! The music is lit - thanks to the ONLY DJ TANNER! Expect a "RED" experience, but if you know me you'll know RED is my color. Stopped in for happy hour making our rounds in Wilton Manors. Bartender was cool but appeared to be bored as there were no customers in the bar. Ordered our drinks and sat outside as there is only bar seating inside but no tables. A couple of friendly blokes approached us and struck up a conversation but appeared to be a little "off" or high on something. It's opening weekend so I'm going to preface this review by saying that I'm probably going to come back in a couple of weeks and do another review to be fair to the owners who have but a lot of time and effort into getting this bar up and running. I wasn't too impressed by opening weekend. The drink prices were skyhigh but it's opening weekend that's to be expected. What I especially did not like was that I got served a warm bottle of Bud light. I immediately told the bartender all he did was dip it in ice for one second and hand the same bottle back. I gave him back the full bottle and told him I am not drinking warm beer. I asked him to throw it away. The bartender he was not concerned one iota that I just threw away $5 and his tip. I'm sorry but that's a piss poor customer service. I went to the back bar and blow me I got another warm bottle of Bud light. Seriously. This is running a bar 101. I'm going to put the warm beer down to opening weekend teething issues but I hope that the issue gets fixed. The owners created a new dark bar that is photography and cell phone free. I like the concept but they didn't think the layout correctly. The only entrance to this bar is through the dance floor. The dance floor is therefore a through fare which is frustrating for the people on the dance floor and for the people trying to get to the dark bar. I didn't love it. Eagle usually signifies a leather bar. This is twinks playing dress up. It's turned into a sex club in the back room. It just has a weird vibe. They have drag shows. Super unpleasant experience at this two-bit dive. My partner was yelled at by a bouncer for SOMETHING HE DID NOT SAY. A group of us were standing on a handicap ramp. We were yelled at to move. We were not asked; we were yelled at. Mind you this is a bar and we were drunk. So excuse us for standing around idly. So as soon as we're we're barked at, we commenced moving off the ramp. Someone sassed one of the bouncers. That someone was NOT my partner. And yet my partner was yelled at and "threatened" with expulsion from the bar. This roid-rage bouncer would benefit from even a modicum of customer service training. And maybe a hearing aid. Or maybe just shake it off when some drunk idiot yells at him, rather than take it out on random patrons. Is this his first day in the job? Would his pent-up frustration been better expended on telling people on the dance floor to put on their masks? After all, those are the bar's rules. No, his pride was hurt by some sassy mouthed drunkard, and he took it out on my partner. We were paying patrons, and as any other good customers expect to be treated respectfully. Alas, no such luck. I want give a monumental Kudos to this place for being responsible for putting hand Sanitizers and implementing a policy far exceeding many Healthcare Facilities . Great job for protecting staff and taking cate of community . After all this is a contact tsunami of invisible droplets about to force everyone into behavior modification .
