John was extremely helpful in planning our route and answered any question we had leading up to our adventure.

Jody, the salesperson was fast and informative in the numerous questions I had on the bike. I showed up in the morning, signed the papers and was out of there within the hour. Spent the next two and a half days riding home, hoping the bike would perform as expected. It did. Very happy, needless to say with the experience there.. My only complaint is that they didn't list all the extra features the bike had already had installed... not a bad thing at all! Thank you Jody and moto authority.

Buyers are going to pay NM excise tax on the purchase price of the vehicle and registration fees no matter where they buy a vehicle BUT at Moto Authority buyers get gouged with an excessive document fee for Moto Authority making the trip to MVD. Moto Authority gets a commission for selling your bike and on top of that they gouge the buyer with an excessive document fee for their time. They should be satisfied with the commission on the sale of a bike they have no money invested in. They do provide floor space to display the bike and their overhead and operating costs are real BUT the sales commission should cover the trip to MVD. Moto Authority says that "For Over 17 Years: New Mexico's Preferred Choice for Motorcycles..." BUT that reputation was built by the old owner. The new owner(s) acts like a car dealer with inflated after the sale fees. When you want to sell your bike the smart move is to spend $5 and advertise your bike on Craigslist. The buyer will pay you directly and you won't pay commission to anyone. Then the buyer goes to MVD to pay the tax and registration fees without paying a document fee. That's MORE money in YOUR pocket and more money in the buyer's pocket. 10/11/25 EDIT to the owner: Your "document fees" are excessive and that is a FACT. If your consignment customers don't list their bikes on Craigslist and keep more money in theirs and the buyers pockets then they deserve what they get at Moto Authority. Your "pride" in your document fees won't get you what you think. I supported Moto Authority in the past and always got a fair deal from Steve but I wouldn't buy a quart of oil from you.

I'm a motorcycle instructor, who primarily teaches on the street. My motorcycles are my life, and livelihood. The ninja's wreck will see me get an R3 or Z300. Both perfect for demonstrating and riding with most of my students. I'll return to R&S, and hunt down Jay and Alec on the floor, let them duel for the sale in a low speed race. The guys at R&S are fun to deal with. More importantly to me, they can RIDE the sh1z out of whatever you throw under them. They know, because they do. In addition to the 2 I've purchased from R&S, I also have my "war pig" 2021 Yamaha FJR1300ES. The service department keeps my fundamentals in order, and does all the work I don't have tools to do. Today, they hunted down the needed tool to do a wheel/rim swap out. Then they flipped the Angel GT II carcass from old to new rim. The extra mile to make sure a customer can get out and ride! I wanted my bike to stand out, and it does! Every couple years I replace the fairings, R&S keeps me covered.

I wasn't looking to learn any tricks, but had become comfortable enough on the road that I wasn't feeling the need for much rudimentary work. I had taken the MSF class a couple years ago but never rode again until recent weeks, at which point I had taken the bike out for a collective 100 miles or so. Do I really need a riding lesson? Come to find out, I totally needed a riding lesson! I didn't realize how much I would benefit from physically getting to know the bike, from experimenting with my weight, counterbalance techniques and handle bar steering, being encouraged to make tighter and tighter turning radii. It was all so basic, yet all so enlightening, and 3 hours flew by. Cassie is a tiny little lady who handles a big@ss BMW adventure bike like a dang legend (and she seems to be in proper standing with some other legends in field too). Even my annoyingly self-confident husband handed it to her. But also, she's super unassuming, very knowledgeable, and intuitively perceptive about what needs explaining and how. As a female rider, my experience with male riders (husband included) has been that they are less likely to understand my fear of dropping a bike, falling over, or breaking a hip! Female riders have been more understanding of that initial timidity, and Cassie offered just the right level of empathy and encouragement. That said, she doesn't only coach gals. Her website actually advertises "Everybody Only. Motorcycle Training for Anyone." And you better believe that she's prepared to train you, regardless of your gender, your riding level, or your goals for motorcycling. For the record, her prices are very reasonable, and she offers individual and class training environments. She travels to location too. We met in a big parking lot off Pan American, but from what I could tell she was willing to meet me in a location of my choosing. Highly recommend this trainer, and can't wait to go back!
