What an adventure! We broke down in Tucumcari NM last night. The closest Harley shop to us was almost 200 miles away. Mike worked on the bike and put a bandage on it and called Thunderbird-Harley Davidson in Albuquerque NM and told them everything from year to issues and they told us to bring it in and they'd get us on the road. Little did they say is the bike was too old and they baited us there to buy a new bike. Refused to help us. Customer service has gone to the shitter! btw they also own the Santa Fe Harley Davidson. So if you're traveling through New Mexico on an older bike....make sure you're running sound on you'll be stranded. read more

Well, dang it. So much for the no motorcycle rule in our house! But if we were going to break it, at least it was broken in style. I came out of the bathroom in our house to see two gentlemen in our driveway delivering this beautiful pre-owned black leather and orange bike that looks brand new! Seriously - there's not a single speck of dust on the thing! My father-in-law bought it for himself for his 75th birthday during this pandemic. And therefore he had to buy it with the governor's regulations to see it online only and have it delivered. The staff did a great job making sure the photos of the bike were thorough and the description was extremely accurate! Not only did they give him an AMAZING deal of a price, they also gave him a certificate worth $350 towards a helmet - which I love! I'm still not thrilled about the motorcycle - I'm not going to lie. BUT my husband and father-in-law are going to take classes together on how to ride the bike and I love that they will have that activity together! So that's a major plus! I took a fork in to get seals and a new reflector. I had the part in hand and off the bike already. The quote they gave me shook me. I could buy all the tools needed to do this job myself for the price they quoted me. I have attached the quote. 2 hours of time for a couple seals and some oil. Absolutely outrageous. Thunderbird Harley Davidson's service is a complete joke and waste of time. They have had my bike for 5 days to evaluate clear manufacturing defective cracks in HD Dunlop tires that THEY sold me. Instead of going to bat for their loyal customers they choose to come up with every reason under the sun from this is a cupping issue, to weather in NM, to you've gotten good life out of this tire. To my knowledge cracks are NEVER supposed to happen EVER during the life of a tire PERIOD! This isn't the first time Thunderbird has not gone to bat for their customers. I fought with them over an intake leak for 4 months, which Harley ended up replacing because I proved it out, not Thunderbird. I will drive to El Paso and order off the HD website to never give Thunderbird another penny of my hard earned money. I would go to Santa Fe but it's the same owner. read more

I upgraded the Boom radio on my bike to the current GTS system. Harley requires that the radio be flashed by the dealer after install. When I called Thunderbird, Will said he could fit me in if I came early in the afternoon. It was raining, so I guess they had some extra time. The Tech activated my radio and allowed me to watch. After I got home, I realized that CarPlay was not working. I called in and Will offered to fit me in again on the next business day, if I showed up at opening. I showed up as asked and the tech was able to fix the issue by deactivating the WHIM. I appreciate their help, and am happy everything is working now. read more

Thunderbird has a bad rep! Scott Fischer Enterprises should take a good look at its own business and consider why they have falling sales and customers who refuse to return or seek help in their maintenance. On three separate occasions, Thunderbird did me wrong! First event- clutch cable went out so they had to order one. Three WEEKS later it was fixed but item(s) from my bike were missing. I was assured that no one would've taken or STOLEN items from a customers bike yet we stood there with proof that one item in particular was gone (an accessory to the bike). No attempt was made to make it right. Second event- bike was taken in for service as the LED lights , that they installed one month earlier, was not working as it should. After dropping off the bike, I was called and asked if I had the instructions for the light kit. I responded stating they had installed the light kit and how would I have the instructions when I purchased aid kit from them. Nothing was done, nothing was fixed, and I was charged a diagnostic fee. Third event- prior to COVID and knowing the bike would not be rode in a while, I had the oil changed (using up my last free oil change under my warranty program). 8 months later and 600 miles on the bike, I thought it would be good to change the oil as it has sat for a long time. While emptying the oil, I noticed how dark and black the oil appeared. Thunderbird never changed the oil! That was the last straw! I contacted THD and again got the run-around! No attempt to make thing right! Well, as of this past Tuesday, I am the proud owner of a new Indian Roadmaster. I've been thousands of dollars at Duke. It's HD and Thunderbird HD. Duke City had it together whereas THD.....well....they fall short! I will never again purchase a Harley from any of Scott Fischer Ent.! I'm unsure if I will ever purchase another HD. So far, I am one of six who have switched to Indian. More looking to make the jump as well due to the poor professionalism, poor maintenance, and shotty overall practices exhibited by Thunderbird staff. AVOID this place and do yourself a favor if you must purchase a HD; go to El Paso for your purchase! You'll get a better deal and a better experience! The fuel gauge wasn't working on my bike when I bought it so they said they would fix it. Over the next 1 1/2 years they managed to break everything inside my fuel tank. They replaced my plastic fuel lines with rubber, kinked the line, blew up my fuel pump, melted all the wiring inside the tank. Then instead of fixing it they broke the plastic hinge assembly without telling me. Lied to be about putting in an aftermarket pump as an OEM is unavailable and refused to work on my bike. I spent nearly $700 of my own money to fix the the parts they broke and replace the parts they wouldn't install. Finally took my bike to Loman's to get it running. The service manager completely refused to do anything and the owner, given multiple chances, refused to make it right. I would trust them to change my tire let alone anything else. read more

Love hanging out at this dealership, staff are friendly and build friendships. Nice lounging area to relax and free fountain drinks/coffee. Events and promotions usually every month something's going on. Reason not 5 stars is primarily the service department hasn't exceeded my expectations or proven to help much. My new bike I bought from here ended up having a burnt headlight within a month. They had plenty of bulbs in stock for an above normal price $16 and then the guy at the service desk at the time told me it'd be a shop minimum of $30 for them to replace it for me. I have a new sportster with the small fairing over the headlight and hard to get to Allen head bolts. At first he gave me a screwdriver (which we then found out was a Allen head bolt) to use myself to avoid an additional $30 charge to replace a new bulb that shouldn't be blown anyway. So took that back and one of the parts guys Sean was actually very helpful and talked to one of the mechanics who took my bike in and replaced it within 5 min no further hassle. After buying parts from the dealership they base around brotherhood, I just would expect better help from the service department especially for simple things like this. Other than this, I love the environment around the shop and enjoy the events the have. Love the rewards system and I commend Sean and Dwayne in parts for always wanting to help and offer to go above and beyond. read more

Overpriced like crazy! These bikes are severely overpriced because the two Harley locations are under the same management so there is no competition and they can mark up the prices all they want. Even during sales prices are raised a few weeks before and marked back down to original price to make people think they're getting a deal. A lot of fun events with live music and food on some weekends but that's the best thing about this dealership, something that has nothing to do with the product. That should say something. read more

I was swapping out my lady's bars when her tank fell off of the frame destroying the fuel rail RIGHT before a 1000 mile road trip. A quick trip to my local HD showed that the only shop in the western United States that had this part was thunderbird HD. I explained the situation to the parts man there and he got that part from NM to okc in 4 days. My local HD parts man told me it could take up to 3 weeks... shout out to thunderbird HD for the wicked fast and friendly service. I believe parts mans name was Chris. Could be wrong on that.
