It gets 5 stars though because of the amazing memories I have here. I truly found who I was and comfort in being a deaf person at Aspen Camp. My stepfather worked there for many years before he joined my family. I attended for 8 straight years until I was too old to be a camper. By then I was busy in high school and working full time in the summer. But never have I forgotten the beauty of this place. It's full of lush landscaping, mountains, wild animals, and inspirational energy to help you find what you're looking for. The programs ACDHH offers are designed to match many people's ages, preferences, and goals. Summer camp for youth are the best. Nothing beats being around your peers without limitations. Here you just have fun being you. :) Nothing is better than that. I am forever grateful to this camp and will be a lifelong supporter and donor. I'm lucky that my mother is now the Executive Director because now I can visit any time I want. How wonderful is that!?

I first went when I was 8 years old, before several of the facilities were renovated or built, actually.. The last time I went there was as a staff there, when I was 19 years old. Aspen Camp provides a safe place for children to grow, learn, and discover. It also provides a safe place for young adults to grow, learn, and discover. I can vouch for both since I went there as a camper six times and as a staff twice. I'd always recommend Aspen Camp to parents of a young deaf child looking for a summer camp or to young adults looking for a summer job. This place is the place to be, truly magical and inspiring..
