Very nice place, I liked it. It is perfect for movies with kids. The price is very good and the popcorn is great.

What's not to like? It's a walkable theater showing first run movies. Popcorn was popping fresh and smelled great but were were coming dinner from lunch. Poor planning on my part! And the theater chairs are comfy. They rock and have drink holders in each arm rest. Okay, that was written before the movie started. We were in Theater 2 and it was so hot and stuffy we had to take a break midway through the show and get some wet paper towels from the restroom. Wow. I happened to have one of those little misting fans with me and it did a little good. PRO-TIP: The restrooms are downstairs and there are also theaters on that floor. It was *much* cooler down there. My advice to fellow summer movie -goers would be to go to whichever movie is showing in one of the downstairs theaters. read more

Definitely the worst name in history but in fairness they had their name first. Regardless, still time for a name change. We saw Star Wars Episode VIII while in Aspen. We purchased tickets online a day before and when we arrived at 6:15 for a 6:30 showing, the line was all the way out the door. Seats were comfy and they do not offer preassigned seats so arrive early to get good seating. It's a large theatre considering how small the town of Aspen is. Bathrooms are located deep in the basement down a very long staircase. Good place to see a movie in Aspen. read more

I was really impressed with this movie house. I really didn't know what to expect, for some reason I was expecting old seats, old school flat floor style...etc. I wanted to check it out being a movie buff and even though I'm living in the Aspen/Snowmass area, I had been going to the theater in El Jebel (many miles away). So excited to have found that the Isis is AWESOME!!! They have normal pricing (nothing in Aspen is normal $$$), excellent service, yummy popcorn, the screen room I was in (#2) was big, with stadium seating, nice vinyl rocker seats (which I personally prefer to the recliners) and get this...they serve bruskies! Sure, the Isis Theater is the only game in town if you want to catch a movie, but it's actually a pretty nice theater. It's not exactly very big: they used to have five theaters but recently had to convert one into retail space to remain solvable, but the theaters are actually quite modern and comfortable... And I was shocked to see how clean the place was, unlike some of the megaplex theaters I got used to frequenting in California. The movie selection is obviously limited, but I managed to catch "Ocean's 13" in its opening week (pretty good movie by the way). And guess what, this may well be the only thing that's cheaper here in Aspen than it is on the coasts: $10 for an adult ticket!... read more

Love the smaller theater atmosphere. Comfortable seats and great popcorn! I saw Jurassic World today with my family, and all of us agree that the surround-sound in the movie theater was even better than in most larger theaters. Overall, the whole theater was clean, comfortable, and the service was excellent. I love how comparatively inexpensive tickets are here as well - $8 per ticket is much less expensive than most large chain theaters. read more

Pros: Cool Egyptian Theme, Serves beer and wine. Cons: Uncomfortable chairs, heater/air conditioner ALWAYS BROKEN.... It is like a sauna or a refrigerator in there at any given time. Also, the bathroom is on the bottom floor and there are a million stairs in between. Can't really sneak out quickly for a bathroom break without missing a good part of your movie. If they fix the HVAC and maybe get some more comfortable chairs this place would get a 5. read more

I was going to give this movie theater 5 stars. It's really clean and the reclining chairs are so comfy. But about an hour after we left the theater, my son realized he might have forgotten his first ever pocket knife there . We asked at the concession stand whether anyone had turned it in, but no one had. They said the next showing had already started, so we couldn't check in the theater, even though we were leaving town forever as soon as we left the theater (we were passing through while on vacation). So we left with tears in my son's eyes and no pocket knife. :( read more

Great spot to catch a film! While a great deal of Aspen has changed to accommodate luxury restaurants and boutique clothiers, the Isis remains a local institution. They do a lot with a small location. read more

The old Isis theater in Aspen has been there since the 20's. My kids grew up going to events at this family run theater. It was really the only venue of its kind in town. That's all changed now, but the Isis has had a massive upgrade at the cost of many millions of dollars. The building looks pretty much the same, but inside and beneath the ground there are big changes. You'll have a state of the art movie going experience. It now hosts four theaters with state of the art sound, and even elevators...hard to believe. If you're in Aspen and you want to take in a first run movie go to the Isis, it's the only game in town, but it's a great one. read more

Great theater located in the heart of Aspen. The theater has several of the newest movies to choose from with several show times. There is a little concession stand inside and the theaters themselves are clean and up to date. read more

Sweet theater, newly renovated and everything up to date and clean. Comfy seats! We weren't expecting to come to Aspen and see a movie, but the rain made us glad for options, and this turned out to be a real treat. They let the movie theater fill up and then they kicked us out and cancelled the movie. They knew they would cancel the premier of Star Wars and they sold us tickets and let us sit in the theater for a half hour anyway. Horrible management that knows they can get away with what they want in a town with only one theater. read more

The seats are comfy and there is rarely a line. It's clean and they always have a good selection of movies. There is rarely a line unless there it's the first couple days for a movie to come out. Friendly and very helpful staff when you ask. read more

This place is great! It is often quiet and yet lots of the most current movies come through here regularly. Service is quick and courteous, popcorn has always been good and fresh with the right amount of butter. It is clean - even the restrooms- and the matinee and Tuesday prices are a nice break in an expensive town. Only annoyance is that you can enter rows from only one side is a couple of the theaters. Just need to get there early if you have a preference on aisle vs. center. read more

Aside from the theater being old with few film choices, I got hurt badly in the theater by sitting in a chair that was broken, and got speared by the metal piece under the seat cushion which had flipped up. It is impossible to contact anyone at Isis to report the incident. read more
