'An armed minority is harder to oppress'" I dig that a gun shop has this stance as it aligns with my personal views. The sales people are very friendly though a bit solemn sometimes. Once you get them talking they are very open though. They seem to have some nice pieces in stock if you want to buy from them directly but if you need a FFL. This is the place.

They have always had some of the most product out of any home owned mom and pop shop so I have never lacked for selection and variety. Also they prices are very competitive and you even get a little break if you pay with cash. Ian Bailey has usually been my go to guy giving me the God's honest truth about pros and cons to make sure I know exactly what I am getting. He's extremely knowledgeable and clearly has a lot of real-world experience beyond just working at a range. He explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, answered questions thoroughly, and made sure everyone felt supported throughout the class. I was initially a little hesitant about taking a co-ed class since I had no prior firearms experience, but Luis immediately set a very welcoming, relaxed tone. He was calm, approachable, and easygoing, which made a big difference. I never felt intimidated or out of place, and he was very patient working with me as a complete beginner. By the end of the class, I felt comfortable, confident, and genuinely excited to keep practicing and come back to the range. Beyond the instructor, the facility itself is great. The staff was friendly and helpful, the environment felt respectful, and even the other patrons were welcoming. I also really appreciate that Bristlecone offers a wide variety of courses for different skill levels, along with discounts when you take classes, and special offerings like free Tuesdays for women. Overall, this was a really positive introduction to shooting, and I'd absolutely take another class here especially with Luis. I did find it a bit "clicky" and it's very clear they have regulars and cronies that get served better and faster than those of us new to the store. Their prices are on the high end of retail, very near MSRP which is traditionally high. They have a great selection of the high end stuff like FN SCARS but the prices are higher than most. I also didn't really enjoy fending off two shop dogs that were constantly sniffing me. They do have a Silencer Shop kiosk and that's much appreciated.

The man that owns and operates it is named Warren and he loves to chat about guns. He is a veritable encyclopedia on modern and older firearms. His business is primarily taking in consignment firearms and selling them as well as buying estate items. He does have a few new handguns that are worth perusing. Parking was simple and the building is clean and organized. I have a few rifles I don't use that I might employ him to consign for me.
