I have only really used this location as a FFL when ordering guns online but they are very nice when I come in. I chose this location solely because their website says: "Westminster Arms is dedicated to the safety of all those in our community. We believe the 2nd Amendment applies to all law-abiding Americans regardless of the color of their skin, LGBTQ or income level, etc. We value your business and will work hard to earn it. 'An armed minority is harder to oppress'" I dig that a gun shop has this stance as it aligns with my personal views. The sales people are very friendly though a bit solemn sometimes. Once you get them talking they are very open though. They seem to have some nice pieces in stock if you want to buy from them directly but if you need a FFL. This is the place. read more

I dropped off my late husband's gun to be sold on consignment and had a great experience with the employee (Johnny?) who helped me. He reassured me that he would call me if they received a lower offer than the asking price, which was documented on the intake paper. I received a call an hour later, asking if I would take $100+ off. Ummm...nope. About a month after I dropped it off, I received a call from Chloe (a super sweet employee) saying that my gun sold! Awesome! I asked her to mail it to me, as I live out of state. She was happy to do so and let me know that it would go out in the next day's mail. Fast forward to a week later and I received the check. I looked at the amount and immediately knew it wasn't right. They sold my gun for $400 - not $450 (listed price). I never received a call to ask about the offer and was very upset that they sold it for a lower price (especially due to it being my recently deceased husband). I emailed them to ask them why they took an offer that I didn't authorize, but the employee (or owner) was defensive and said that the paperwork stated I would take a $400 offer. NOPE. I have the paperwork to prove it. They continued to argue with me over several emails, about their theft and never admitted they were wrong. They are incredibly unprofessional and I would never recommend anyone go here for consignment sales unless you want to support a lying business that will steal your money! read more

Neither employee I dealt with during my four visits could actually give me instructions working backward from a successful firearms purchase to my needs. I am prior service, I have plenty of money, and an absolutely clean criminal record, As well as several DOD security clearances in the past. it doesn't appear that anyone there is an actual veteran or prior LE. I overheard about a customer's need to surveil and hunt his neighbors, which was kind of a downer. Also, having worked retail the job is to help the customer get to the purchase - isn't it? Having to wait 45 minutes to an hour each visit to find out that they don't have correct or internally matching instructions FOUR different times is also kind of a downer. They have a very pro- Zionist agenda and one of their biggest selling points Is that *the same rifles they prefer to sell are being used in Gaza right now.* i'm not really that proud of people committing war crimes myself but OK. John and his staff take customer satisfaction SERIOUSLY. I don't want to bore you with details but I do feel obligated to give witness to one transaction from one of the finest retail businesses in Colorado. I purchased a small item from Saul who treated me as an old friend though it was only maybe the 3rd time I'd ever been in. A few days later I went to Machine Gun Tours to look at some parts for a rifle build I was working on. The man behind the counter insisted that what I had purchased from WA wasn't only inferior, but dangerous to use. He suggested I hang it on a wall or give it to someone I don't like. I felt duped. I reached out to Westminster arms while I feverishly scoured the internet trying to corroborate what I had been told. Some of what MGT told me made sense but big picture things didn't add up. The more I looked into it, after having reached out to John from WA, the more I realized MGT was full of that stuff you dry out to make fertilizer. I wanted to go over and apologize to John and Saul for the rather nasty message I erroneously sent based on macho/I-know-everything information from MGT. By the time I made it over to WA it was 6:30pm. They had been closed for half an hour. I saw there were people in there closing up and figured I'd try. Saul was working the counter and you could tell he had a ROUGH day (almost guaranteed because of my message). John saw me and came out from his office. He offered to buy back the item I had purchased, which I didn't want to relinquish after I REALLY looked into it. I told him that was ok and reassured him that Saul did nothing wrong. In fact, Saul did everything right, making sure I had every part I needed as well as the proper box. John wouldn't let me leave until he was 100% confident that I was satisfied and he did everything right. He offered me a free magazine parts kit and some other parts for my trouble. The entire time he was generous, calm, and warm in demeanor... like dealing with someone from a distant past who cares of nothing more than working their butt off to make their customers happy. Folks, here's the big point. Nowadays, if you don't spend the big bucks, you won't get the attention from most stores. This item we're taking about was under $80 - in terms of firearms, that's peanuts. For John to bend over backwards like he did is not only rare, it's unheard of. He has more than earned my trust and he will absolutely receive repeat business from me. Also, I think there is a valuable lesson in this. As always, do your research. Some gun guys know it all. They read every forum on every rifle and have serious opinions based on the opinions they've read. This means they really dont know much about anything other than guns (ie metallurgy, machining, common pars used in aircraft or trucks, etc.). There's also old school gun guys who do business the old fashioned way and have your back no matter what. Like a good old cowboy looking out for you when the sun sets. They responded quickly to my initial request, but appear to have provided the wrong contact information. Once I got the right information they were responsive and friendly. The shop was very busy both times I was there, but they were paying attention and I can't say that anybody waited longer than necessary. Place is small, but appears to be well run. I only needed some repair work done and was able to get my part in quickly and got it back in a reasonable time for about as much as I expected to pay. Overall a pleasant place and good staff. I'm giving this place a "two" because they did get what I ordered. That's the only thing that went right. I was supposed to get called when the pistol came in. Didn't happen. I purchased a very generic firearm from them and ammo both of which the website said were in stock. 11 business days later they have not contacted me with any updates. They obviously did not have this item in stock and and are now scrambling to fill their orders. Calls to their listed phone number go straight to voicemail and the only communication they have made is one telling me how hard they are working to fulfill the order the took from me and promptly debited my account for. Response to comment from owner: Yeah this isnt my real name. You have not responded to my email I sent with my order number on it, yet you took the time to reply to my bad review. You still aren't answering your phones and your mailbox is full. This has been the story for 2 weeks now. Don't take orders you can't fulfill in a timely manner. You debited my account in 24 hours yet you can't respond to my emails in the same time. Don't do business with these guys folks. It's not worth the headache. Additional response to comment from owner: If you're not sure what gave me the impression that the items I purchased were available in your store, your website clearly stated the items I selected were "available" while other items were listed "out of stock." Silly me to misconstrue that. Lol. It's not the wait or the issue with panic buying. The issue is your not answering your phone for weeks and responding to reviews of your business faster than my emails. It seems that you're quick to respond to quell your negative reputation as reflected in the overwhelming negative "actual" customer reviews Yelp and Google (seems as if there are only 5 star and 1 or 2 star reviews, a sure sign of fake and shill reviews being planted) but not worried enough to build an actual good relationship with your customers through open communication and good business practices. I liked the place over all my experience was a little odd but it was the end of the day so maybe it was that. Ill explain. I walked in w my good friend whom in which was greeted while I was not. The store was pretty busy as in there was about 9 others just checking out inventory. I walked towards the left side if the store another customer came in not too long after myself... And was also greeted. Maybe I'm crazy but im 6'6 and hard to miss. Anyways I towards the main counter with a question and the gentleman went above and beyond with assisting me with both of my questions. Once our conversation was over he left the room. I grabbed the latest model accessory for my rifle as well as a few boxes of ammo... Heres the odd part... I easily have A few hundred dollars worth of items and the place has cleared out other than my friend, nyself and one other customer and i was basically ignored for around 10 minutes. Everyone kinda had their head down, so im clearing my throat, the guy i spoke w earlier stands up I take a step forward he keeps it moving. I look towards my friend because I'm becoming aggravated and getting ready to open my giant New Jersey mouth and one of the guys asks MY FRIEND if HE needs help..... To which he replied, "No But my friend here does..." And the guy looks at me in all of my 6' 5" splendor like hes surprised in standing there. My friend was standing a foot to my left and 3 ft behind me. Haha not sure what was going on but if I was invisible I know a few things a whole lot better than standing in line I could've been doing. .. This was my very first firearm purchase, and the gentlemen at Westminster Arms were knowledgeable, professional, and great to work with. I had tried going to a larger "sporting goods" store and they basically didn't give me the time of day. In contrast, the guys at Westminster Arms made me feel important and took the time to show me multiple options. They were very busy with the CoVid-19 Pandemic, but despite the longer wait time for approval, they had a good system and I still was able to receive my firearms within one week which impressed me. Update: As mentioned in my initial review, I'd left the shotgun I'd purchased from them with their onsite gunsmith to be overhauled, having been quoted 2 weeks--latest 3--to get it completed. 5 weeks went by with no updates, so I called and talked to their gunsmith who quoted the end of that week to complete. Another 3 weeks went by with no updates, so I called in the morning before they opened and left a message advising them it had now been 2 months, that I needed a callback that day with an update, and that if it couldn't be completed the next day, I'd have to take it elsewhere. I left all my info, including claim number. No callback. I went in the next day to pick it up and suddenly it was done, the gunsmith advising he "was able to knock it out yesterday," and that "it must have gotten into the wrong pile." I understand what I was told had occurred, but I can't help thinking I may have been "bumped" a few times priority-wise. If this was the case and I'd been alerted to it, no sweat--I would have picked it up weeks ago and gone somewhere else. As a supervisor of a customer service team myself, I feel this could have been handled better. read more

Went in to set up an appointment for the NRA Basic Pistol class, everyone was very helpful and I knew immediately this was my store (I just moved here). John & Robert helped me out with my new Kimber 1911. My only regret was not going to Westminster Arms first to order my Kimber. But that's OK, I'll make it up in the future. Robert did an awesome job in the Pistol class, especially at the range at the end of the day, he was there to make sure we had as much individual attention as we could handle. He is a complete POS and I would love to see him try to talk to me the way he did outside of your little shop. As a business owner myself I have seen a million guys like him. Well let's just say "They've earned my business"! At first I was just wanting to meet and purchase a new AR for training and needed a place that would assist with the transaction and FFL. Keaton the customer service specialist was more than helpful and even gave the AR a good look over before helping me with the transaction even though I was buying from a private party. He confirmed I was getting a great deal and ensured everything was up to par with the AR. Soooooo, this shop is great. We were helped by Hollis who is an Encyclopedia of gun knowledge with a sense of humor. The greatest aspect of my experience is that I may not have walked out of the store with what I had in mind and asked for when I entered but I left with a gun that I was comfortable with and that didn't get pushed on me. I was treated in a way that wasn't judgmental for being a small framed female because let's face it there are some sellers out there who think they know what's best for their clients in the wrong way. Hollis gave me an opportunity to look at and feel AT LEAST 10 firearms with out any OMG just make up your mind attitude! He is genuine in his customer service and care for what you can handle. Even with the minor thought of how does the slide feel when you pull it back is it a struggle or is it easy. When waiting for the BG check you could tell as the other employees worked with customers and shared their knowledge and love for what they do it's truly a mom and pop shop to say the least. Slow, poor service, bad attitudes--like another recent posting indicated. What's not to hate about this place? I drove a substantial distance to the store based upon good reviews. I walked through the store for 20 minutes just trying to find anyone who would make eye contact to recognize they knew they had a customer. I wasn't expecting them to drop what they were doing, but some acknowledgement (you know like in a well-run retail operation), would have been nice. Then after what seemed like an additional eternity, one of the sales guys deigned me fit for an audience with the king (i.e., him). It actually went downhill from there. Rude, condescending, uncaring and a "F" you attitude in general.
