I hate to do this, especially after being a loyal customer for over 20 years, but I was astounded…read moreby the way I was treated today. Back at the end of the 2023 season, I made an appointment to have a leaking cap replaced on my system. Instead of changing just the cap, the technician replaced my entire unit. Now, fast forward to the beginning of this season, I turn my water on, not my sprinkler system, just my water, and water starts shooting out of that very part that was replaced, the part I didn't even need. I called Steeplechase to have it repaired and the technician came out and replaced the entire unit a second time. When I received the $533 bill I called the office and explained that I didn't even need that part at the time, but it was changed anyway, and now I'm being charged to replace it. I didn't think that was fair. I offered to pay the technician for the visit and his labor, along with the charge for opening the system for the new year. I was told that wasn't acceptable, seeing as the problem had occurred because I turned on the water in February(winter time) and it split the pipe. The water was on for less than 30 seconds. I didn't even turn on the system. I seriously doubt that could have caused the problem, but ok. I tried offering a resolution a second time, but once again, I was told there was absolutely nothing they were willing to do. So much for loyalty. If this is how they conduct business, I'm looking elsewhere, and anyone reading this considering using their services, probably should do the same.

We thought we would be able to start the project right away, but decided to hold off while we saved up for it. Ed was very accomodating to us and Gill's waited until we were ready to start the project. We started the project about 2 weeks ago and began with the hardscaping. Gill's employees were at my house bright and early every morning and diligently worked until the project was done. Our project manager this time was Sean, and kept us informed with updates along the way. Mr. Gill also stopped by to introduce himself and thank us for his business. The project was completed last week while my husband and I were away in Colorado, and Ed sent us pictures via email to keep us apprised of how things were going and what the final product looked like. We are totally amazed. Our home looks like a different home! As with our past experience, we are beyond thrilled with the service we received from Gill's Landscaping. As a result of the superior service that we received from Gill's, we are switching to them for all of our landscaping services (fertilization program, cutting, sprinkler service). They are very competitive in pricing compared to our previous landscaping company and very accomodating to our needs! After a few exchanges of ideas, we found a perfect design for our backyard. Fast forward to last week the John and the Rainmaker crew started sculpting our backyard. By the end of the first day our ground was level and graded to perfection. Within a short period of time the backyard really came together. Since I have them, they only show up to turn the sprinklers on and off. I've had "only" them and my lawn has constantly died due to poor sprinkler types and lack of water getting to certain areas. Sprinkler care and lawn treatment seem to be horrible in Bergen County. You have to receiving a communication from this company is nice to know that they monitor these posts however when you turn a sprinkler system on it is customary to check the sprinklers for proper condition and if if they are doing the proper job not just turn it on and walk away from it. I would not have lost my lawn this year if my sprinkler company had my best interest at heart and checked each sprinkler head and the placement and the coverage they were supplying not just turn the sprinkler on. This past time when I requested that they come out they had to replace several heads and adjust locations that the sprinklers were supplying water to. That tells me that when they came out a few months ago they did just what the woman said was turn the system on and walk away and didn't check anything and for over $100 that's not good service I would hope that they change the way they service my property. It seems that they are very comfortable with a DISGRACEFUL three star rating rather than trying to earn more stars and be more considerate of the customer. Now I look and the three replaced heads are refurbished and not new new heads that I paid over three hundred dollars for. These pictures represent the failure of what I paid for and did not get. My neighbor has "no" sprinklers and his lawn is near perfect. Unfortunately the company is run from the office and no one monitors the worker's performance. The Proof Is in the finished product!

We asked what could be done . Corey had great ideas and a unique vision. He asked us to come out to Johnson's nursery and he would show us trees, bushes, and perennials that could be used to give our home more curb appeal. After deciding what we wanted Corey sent us a picture of our house with the new landscaping in place. It looked great. Johnson's landscaped our house beautifully in less than a day.
