Ear Curls is owned by jewelry designer, Shirley Searle, and her business has been around since 1999, but I only just recently got one of her pieces.
Sterling silver is my favourite metal for casual jewelry and Ear Curls has lots of sterling silver items. They sell ear climbers/ear crawlers (which they call ear curls), ear cuffs and other unique pieces.
I recently bought a sterling silver ear cuff from Ear Curls. So ear cuffs are pieces of jewelry for your ears that clip on and don't require an actual piercing. If you just want to read about the actual product, skip to the next paragraph, but if you want to hear a story, read on. When I was a teenager, I went out and got multiple ear piercings (I have 5). My friend and I went to a place known to pierce minors without needing parental consent (!) Yeah, I know, sketchy, but as a kid, my priorities were different. Luckily, I did not suffer any infections, neither short-term nor long-term as a result of my piercings. The shop has long shut down, so kids please don't message me asking me about the place, lol. Anyway, I recently got an itching for another ear piercing. However, now as an adult, I am much more hesitant about the permanence (even if you let the hole close up, it's never the same again), pain, and potential infection risks of another piercing, oh and the potential of a keloid formation. I have things to do, and I value my free time, so I don't really feel like adding a piercing aftercare routine to my life, haha. So this is what lead me to the ear cuffs at Ear Curls.
The ear cuffs at Ear Curls only come in one style (at least at the time I purchased mine), but you can choose from different beads. I just got a plain sterling silver bead, but they have hematite, various Swarovski crystal pearls, and genuine crystals from Austria and the Czech Republic.
Shipping was very quick and the ear cuff was packaged with extreme care. Shirley even signed the packing slip and drew a smiley face. How cute is that?
I love the ear cuff. It's lightweight and comfortable to wear and looks pretty too.
I love that the jewelery is handmade here in Canada.
I'm eyeing one of the ear curls now (The Wave model). You do need a piercing to wear their ear curls, just FYI.
Very happy customer here :) read more
