I have had nothing but positive experiences here. It is pretty typical in any medical practice to have to wait longer than one would like to see a doctor, but I have not had that experience at all in three visits here. Two of my three appointments were made on relatively short notice , something that can be difficult or impossible elsewhere. I have also found this office to be tidy and pleasant. Went there for an ear cleaning. The dr was great, I was in and out of there in a minute. Not happy with their billing department. Was charged a $150 new patient fee even though I went there twice before for a cleaning but that it wasn't within the last 3 years. That's not right in my book. That place is a home for Dr.Hardy Dr. Hardy I'm 70 years dood,seen them all " the good, the bad and the ugly" Everybody has separate Dr. Hardy from the rest is not that h own definition of the doctor, specially good. What separate Dr. Hardy from the rest is not that he is brilliant highly educated doctor and surgeon but he is a HUMAN AND THE PATIENTS ARE HUMANS. He has something what l call IT. IT you either have it or not and separates the best from the artists, by all means he is the ARTIST. I shall remember you. After the Inspire procedure in recovery room there was a lengthy commotion whether l go home or stay in ICU over night, due to my oxygen level. I wanted to go home very badly but Dr. Hardy and the ICU doctor convinced me to stay. My overnight nurse a Mexican man didn't even offer Tv, everything he did was correct and by the book but somehow annoying, got the arguments ended up with him ordering security to restrain me to the bad for no other reason that show me who is THE BOSS. Not hard to schedule and appointment on time. All went well. Doctor did not talk much but he did solve my hearing problem.

I came in with a swollen cheek. I thought I was going there to get an antibiotic. First off they charged me $250 before I even saw the dr. $250 for a check up. Outrageous. Next thing I know the dr says meet me at the hospital you need surgery. We need to drain that. So I went through a surgery and now my ear pops crackles anytime I eat or drink anything it pops. It feels like when your in an airplane the pressure. Can't even afford to go back to this dr because who Knows how much more this is going to cost. No payment plan here. The girls in the office are less than professional. They are mean. They are not empathetic, they are young and don't know how to care for a patient. They are not in retail they are helping sick people. What kind of a drs office is this? Not one you want to visit. I was uncomfortable even going to my follow up visit. 1 front desk girl actually was arguing with me. I am the patient. How dare you treat an ill person like that. I would highly not recommend this drs office. I just noticed that they have 1.5 stars. I should have read these reviews first. I'd advise you find another specialist. You honestly expect me to pay your outrageous balance of $165, when you and Lutheran General Hospital have already robbed me and medicare (funded by all of us taxpayers) of thousands of dollars in unneeded and unjustified charges for a simple thing like simply looking in my ear and removing the small particle blocking my eardrum!? I came to you complaining of feeling my ear was plugged for several months, and that I couldn't hear completely, from it. You charged me $227 just to walk in the door and $105 to irrigate (clean out?) the ear. Then you had your audiologist test my hearing and advised me to have an MRI performed at medicare's expense, to make sure there wasn't any tumor causing the problem. None of these actions did anything to improve or solve the problem, and none of them would have been necessary, if you'd only just taken a look inside the ear! Now, after continuing to live with the problem, several more months, I go to the Ukraine to visit family and friends and save thousands of dollars on dental work I need, because having it done here would've cost 2-3 times what I paid there! So ... while in the Ukraine I also went into a walk-in clinic, without any waiting or appt., and go right in and see an ear, nose, and throat specialist. This doctor looked into both my nostrils, my ears, and my throat. She did the same for my wife, who was with me. She then stuck an instrument into my plugged ear and rubbed it around, and pulled out and showed me some earwax. She then took a little closer look and stuck another instrument into my ear and pulled out a small particle, and showed me! This examination for both my wife and I took all of about 15 minutes and we were charged $15 total! Ever since then my plugged hearing has been resolved! And I no longer feel the sense that hearing is muffled from that ear anymore! So, what with this doctor, simply doing her/your job of looking in my ear for the problem; seeing it; and taking care of it; why couldn't you do that? Because you are not in the business of helping people - just making money! And not only taking it from me, the patient, but also from the govt. (the taxpayers), because they've got plenty of money to spend on their insurance and in their tax payments! Right? After all, when you take the millions of dollars taxpayers put into the medicare system ... who's gonna miss a few thousand, here or there? So, learning how this real nose, throat, and ear specialist, solved my problem, by simply looking in my ear and removing what was plugging it ... do you still expect me to pay the almost $165 balance you say I owe, when medicare and my insurance, has already paid almost $250 of your bill, along with several thousand more for the MRI bill, and the other doctor solved the problem in 7.5 minutes for $15? read more

This whole place is a joke. All they know is how to bill your insurance but never deliver any treatment. I was suffering but found this doctor only cared moabout my insurance plan rather than truly helping me. Do yourself a favor and look for a real doctor and office that's truly interested in your health. My issue is not so much with your billing as it is with the doctor showing zero interest in my problem and only seemed to be concerned with billing my insurance. Once I was approved for the inspire surgery ( after the doctor telling me his office is good at getting it approved but I eventually get denied and when I called your office they tell me there's not much more they can do yet I contacted the inspire rep and got them to finally get involved to get it approved ), trying to get your office to answer questions and get me scheduled was nearly impossible as communication on your end was non existent. Then , to top it off , after trying to get scheduled with your office by me starting in July 2020, I receive a phone message from your office asking if I'm still interested in getting inspire done ! Your office calls me in December and leaves me that message ! Where were you 6 months prior when I was trying to schedule ? Your office is a joke. Work on finding a doctor who truly cares about helping his patients and get support staff who has a clue. AVOID AT ALL COST I was referred to this place through my PCP due to inability to smell or taste anything following a positive COVID test. The test came back in May 2020 but I didn't seek medical help until August 2020. The doctor who saw me told me flat out that he could do an exam but that there is nothing they know of that could help my situation because it's a new illness. So I left without an exam being performed as we were in a global pandemic and my family needed to pinch every penny in order to make ends meet. A few weeks later I received a bill in the mail for an exam that was never performed for $350. I disputed it with their office and was told they wouldn't change it. I disputed with my insurance who said they couldn't change it unless the doctor approved. I called their office again to dispute who said they'd look into it. The next month I received an additional bill with a late fee attached. I called again to dispute and was told they're looking into it. I didn't hear anything for months until I noticed my credit score drop almost 100 points a couple days ago. When I looked into my credit reports, there's a medical bill in collections from their office for the amount they said they were looking into. I have received nothing in terms of communications from any collections agency and no one at the office will talk to me because it's already in collections. This office took advantage of their patient during a global pandemic, lied to the insurance company, refused to communicate with the patient regarding the bill, then slipped a fraudulent bill to a collections agency who refuses to attempt to contact the people who they are attempting to collect from. Absolutely disgusting practice all around that needs to be investigated for insurance fraud. This review is not for the care given, its for the general experience of seeing a doctor. Prepare to wait. They say they require you to be there 15 minutes before your appointment. And they call you on time for your appointment time, to go sit in an office. Prepare to wait at least a half hour. To me its disrespectful and dishonest. If I didn't really need to go here because of my current condition I would look for another provider because I hate waiting. *** Update, I bumped up my rating because I was in a crunch needing another surgery and they saw me on short notice. And looking back I suppose you wait at most medical providers, but the waits at this place have been historically long, especially factoring in them making you show up early. read more

WARNING! Do not go here! The doctor looked up my nose - with his eyes- DID NOT INSERT A CAMERA and they charged me $400 for a nasal endoscopy that never happened. There are two other Yelpers who have complained of billing issues and I can imagine there are more. I should have read the reviews before going there. The doctor was not friendly and was somewhat rude and implied I did not have sinus problems at all and I was stupid for coming there. I have a deviated septum and came to him for a second option and he said he thinks its a neurological issue causing my recurrent pain. I am 100% it is sinus related. He was with me for maybe 5 minutes and then prescribed steroid medication for breathing- which I did not take due to the side effects. DO NOT GO HERE! The billing department acts annoyed with any issue and they still have not learned to code properly. Maybe try getting a medical coding certificate or teach your doctors to stop exaggerating and lying about procedures that didn't happen. read more

I have had problems with my ears for years and I just had another episode where my ear was plugged up for about one month. I tried everything possible but nothing worked and since I am new to Park Ridge, I had to find an ear doctor now. I made an appointment and saw Doctor Kevin Ziffra and he was just fantastic. He was very professional and spend all the time needed to answer any questions I had and explained the cause of the problems I was having and the solutions he recommended for the problems. I feel great now after two visits and there are no follow up appointments unless I have problems in the future. I definitely recommended to anyone having any problems with their ears. My experience was at the Buffalo Grove location. The absolute worst experience I have ever had with a physician. I was ten minutes late due to traffic. When I arrived I attempted to check in. I was told that the Dr was cancelling the appointment due to me being late and I would have to reschedule for the following week. THERE WAS NO ONE WAITING IN THE LOBBY FOR AN APPOINTMENT. THEY ARE AFTER MONEY AND THAT'S IT. Dont go there or get billed outrageous amounts that you would have to pay. Avoid this place unless you desire to be royally screwed. First they make you sign a statement that they can bill you anything they want and you are responsible and then they skin you. I went there to have a bead taken out of my ear. A simple process that took no more than a few seconds. I happily went back but my happiness was short lasted util I saw a bill close to $450. Per my insurance I was responsible for around 40% of this. I called the office and asked them to fear God and not bill the gentiles like this but no use. They billed me for Doctors consultation and surgery. There was no surgery, hack you call removing a bead that visible from outside a surgery and which took 5 seconds or less. While I took care of few things with my insurance after 30 days they staked up another $40 as late fee on my bill. I have not seen such practice or application of late fee. I will call the office pay the bill and ask that $40 be taken off. However, my humble advice is not to give this place any business of yours. AVOID!! Unprofessional service, condescendingly inappropriate office billing manager, and incompetent physician. The Dr. incorrectly coded my office visit, causing a nightmare billing issue. After months of dealing w/the doctors office and the insurance company (which said that the office can easily fix the error made), it eventually came down to the office manager screaming at me over the phone to pay the office bill and then abruptly hanging up on me. Followed by a condescending letter in the mail after I paid the bill with a piece paper that simply read "thank you" in bold print. It definitely wasn't a letter that an office would professionally send out. I work healthcare, and that is NOT how you treat patients. If I treated one of my patients that way, I would have been fired. If this place plans on improving business, the first thing they need to do is get rid of Sandy (office billing manager). I usually don't mention names, but this woman was highly disrespectful, and made me feel like I was nothing. No one deserves to be treated like that. I'm never going back again. DO NOT COME HERE if you care about money. I saw Kevin Ziffra for my tonsillectomy, everything went well, besides the fact that this office never discloses costs and insurance to you. I was billed 800$ for a leg compression device used during my surgery to prevent blood clots, yet no one checked to make sure this was covered by my insurance. The whole surgery and everything was accepted by my insurance. The Office of Kevin ziffra accepts my insurance yet they were negligent and didn't check that the compression device would be covered too, leaving me with an 800$ bill to cover. NEVER go here. This is the first review I have ever written for any business. I have never been more compelled to share my story than now. I was referred to see Dr. Tojo's practice by my long trusted allergist. However, I never even got the chance. I was thwarted by the office manager who would make no exception to an overly fierce office policy that states that no one can be seen without official policy numbers. Never mind that my husband has started a new job and that our insurance company called to confirm via phone that I am indeed covered, but not completely processed in their system. The insurance rep wanted to send an email to confirm date of employment and coverage and to confirm that we should be in the system by Tuesday and could provide the numbers then. This was not good enough for the office manager. I was on hold the whole time with our benefits rep, bless her, while the insurance rep made the call. It was mind boggling to the insurance rep, our benefits center rep and I that anyone could be this fierce and unbending as to not allow someone to see a doctor in time of need after the insurance rep was willing to call and fax proof. I hope that Dr. Tojo reads this so he is aware of this inflexible, insensitive office policy and the staff that is so unwilling to compromise when sufficient evidence is presented regarding insurance.
