I really wanted to like this office. They have great reviews and were able to schedule an…read moreappointment for my daughter much sooner than CHKD (who has a 6 month wait). However, the week of her first appointment, I received a text stating there wouldn't be a provider in that day. I called to reschedule, which pushed the appointment out an extra month. The day of her appointment, the assistant couldn't read the doctor's writing of what lab work needed done. Dr. Saffold was currently with another patient, so she told us she'd send an email after speaking with him. That afterward we can go to any Sentara location to have it completed. This added additional driving, paperwork, and time for us. Later that day, I picked up her RX and didn't understand the directions on the label because they were worded wrong. It took several days for someone to get back with us. The week of her follow-up appointment, we received another text stating a provider wouldn't be in and her appointment would need to be rescheduled AGAIN. No one EVER answers the phone. Every single time I have called, I have had to leave a message and play phone-tag with them to speak to an actual person. It has been well over 3 weeks and I have still yet to get my daughter's follow-up scheduled. She is out of the medication that was prescribed. Our pharmacy has reached out to the office and the refill has been ignored. Grateful I never canceled the CHKD appointment because we will not be going back. My daughter is autistic and the experiences we've had with this office have been added stress that is unnecessary. I have worked for doctors and am experienced in healthcare. The lack of follow-through and carelessness from this office is embarrassing.

The friendliness and willingness to go the extra mile for their patients is so refreshing. PA-C…read moreBritton and Nikki thank you. The Sentara Leigh Ambulatory Surgery Center is an updated facility since the expansion & upgrade of…read morethe main Sentara Hospital on its ever expanding campus. The location is in a more northern part of the main hospital since I last had surgery there, sitting directly north of the Emergency Room. Coming from the north, enter at the first Hospital entrance off Kempsville Road. A tricky part of reaching the drive through entrance at the front of the building is that one has to enter the fenced Ambulatory Surgery parking lot on the left to reach the drive around. There isn't a sign which makes it confusing, especially if you have to be there at 0:dark30 in the morning. Parking is plentiful, especially in the early morning when most surgeons operate. A large clean waiting room, complete with a coffee station, is available for patients and those waiting with them. Near the coffee station is a row of cushion backed small tables where one can sit & work while they wait. Check-in and front desk personnel are extremely pleasant and friendly. The patient's family or friends are given a number so they can check the patient's progress on a digital board while they go through the pre-op & surgery process. After a patient is prepped, the family member or friend is called back to wait until the patient is taken back to the operating room. During that time both anesthesia & the surgeon come into the patient's cubicle for a final check in & questions. Everyone was friendly and cheerful, including those at the medical station in the midst of the pre-op & recovery cubicles. After surgery the waiting person is called back to sit with the patient during the postoperative instructions. This was the only glitch in what otherwise would have been a perfect review. The nurse, who we had not seen before, read through the postoperative instructions very quickly from the printed instructions as if he were in a hurry to get us out the door. In my opinion this should not be rushed. Time should be allowed for the patient to have all their cognitive processes restored after anesthesia so they can digest the information & ask questions. He also wouldn't allow her to have anything but ice chips instead of offering a small drink, such as Ginger Ale, as I've always experienced in the past. Sentara Leigh Ambulatory Surgery Center is a wonderful choice for outpatient procedures. I would highly recommend.

Everyone is so caring and friendly, from check in, to Nurses and Anesthesiologist. They all make you feel like they really care about you The waiting area is very clean and nicely decorated. There is a coffee station available for anyone waiting for you and a screen that updates as you move from pre op to recovery. Both procedures went very well. The only problem was the time you have to arrive. First surgery arrival was 6:00 AM, second arrival time was 5:30 AM. I am not an early riser and being retired, I do not get up early and I am not a fan of the Surgeons early morning schedules.

We got the bill and they only take checks! No website payment options. I called the number on the statement and was told they don't take payments over the phone. So only checks! I haven't written a check in ten years at least. We don't even have checks. No mention of any of this was made when the appointment was made. I've tried calling for days, several times a day and the number doesn't work. I just get the verizon message that the call can't be completed as dialed. Well I dialed it exactly as it was listed on their lame website. They don't have email, no one answers when you post on their facebook page. I don't recommend going to this practice at all.

This office is trash!…read more I have been a patient of Dr. Berry's for years. He is great. His staff however have proven themselves to be utterly incompetent at every turn. I went in to have ear molds created for custom ear plugs. About a month passes and I receive the molds. They don't fit AT ALL and I got water in my ears. I have 2 perforated ear drums so that is not a minor thing. It can lead to terribly painful ear infections. I went back in and returned the ear plugs and got another mold made. A few weeks pass and AGAIN they were wrong. Only the left ear fit and the right did not. I then went in a THIRD time and got just the right ear mold redone. Then guess what...IT DIDN'T FIT! They then had the audacity to try and charge me an additional 90 dollars because of costs they accrued having to send the molds back several times. I told them that they wouldn't be getting a dime from me. They then told me that once the final plugs came in they would contact me. A month later I never heard from them. I called. No answer. Left voicemails. No callback. This went on for 3 MORE MONTHS! Then I get the plugs back and they don't f*&%ing fit!!! I said screw it and went back to using my old worn out ones. I have no doubts about Dr. Berry's abilities as a physician. He is top notch. His staff however are incompetent, ineffectual and need to find another line of work. I will NOT be going back to this practice.
