The store was a treasure full of incredible vinyls and tapes! All at reasonable prices but at a never ending supply. Staff was incredibly friendly. As an out of town visitor, it was a highlight of the trip. Worth the trip if you are an old school music lover. read more

This store has been in business for 30 years and has managed to survive the great depression. Likely because they have a great selection of used CD's that are reasonably priced. They also have Vinyl,Cassete tapes and DVD as well as VHS tapes. It's great to see an independently owned store like this still around when the large chains are disappering. You get great quality which they stand behind and a broad selection of music. CD's are reasonably priced at $5 bucks. The only downside is that many of the CD's are not in any type of order so you sort through them till you find what you're looking for...which they may or may not have. Often times you'll land upon something that you'll like. They also have a frequent purchase plan that allows you to get $5 off. read more

This place is a total rip off - you'll pay $10-15 for a completely unplayable album once you get it home. Out of 7 albums 4 of them were the worst quality, unlistenable albums I've ever bought - including dozens of $1 bin records. Total scam - plenty of other places charging less for albums you can actually listen to. read more

As a longtime vinyl-head, I was really looking forward to visiting this store - especially since the ratings were so high. Unfortunately, my experience was not nearly as positive. First off, the good. The store was easy to find, had plenty of parking, and was uniquely decorated inside, with cool cd/lp mobiles hanging from the ceiling. That's where the good ends for me. I want to reiterate that I am no stranger to record collecting and grading. I've been collecting for over 15 years. While the recent resurgence in vinyl has bumped prices up a bit (particularly new vinyl), that's nothing compared to the prices charged here for USED vinyl. Here, I would easily pay 5-10 times more than what I've seen in the DC area. And, we're not talking really rare records either. Many that I saw were your run-of-the-mill Goodwill finds. Also the condition of the records leaves much to be desired. Many of the covers were worn, few protected by plastic sleeves, and the vinyl itself had significant scratches or surface wear. This means you'll have a greater chance of hearing static, pops, or worse - skips. I really wanted to like this place, but when I see albums that I paid only $1 for in excellent condition, turn up here for $10, $20, or even $50 in shabby shape, you better believe the rating will suffer accordingly. That being said, this appears to be the only dedicated music store that sells records in Winchester. It's all about supply and demand, I guess... read more

Growing up in Winchester, I went to Ear Food relatively often during my high school years. Then, when I moved away, I make it a point always to visit when I am back in town. This store is awesome, the selection is enormous, and the prices for (used) CDs are very good (often $5 - $10, worth it to shop at a place like this). New CDs are a bit pricy, but again I'm willing to pay the premium every so often to help keep this place in business. It's also a great place to look for movies, not just music! I don't collect much vinyl but the selection is huge here as well, it would be my first stop if I ever got into that. This is the only store that I'll go into with the intent of not leaving until I find something, which I ALWAYS do. Great place. read more

The prices. The prices kill me. When I can walk into any thrift store or Goodwill and find the usual 1940s to 1950s unknown jazz artist for fifty cents, then walk into this establishment and find the same album for anywhere between $10 - $20 that let's me know what I'm in for. They have a fantastic selection of music for what it's worth. I saw a handful of used albums I would have liked to add to my collection by not for double the price I could get them elsewhere. The store has a great vibe and the staff seemed pleasant enough. If you don't mind paying a premium price for used vinyl then this may be your place. Overall 2 stars for the high prices but great selection. read more

LPs are way over priced and many are well over $10 for poor condition covers and vinyl. Not sure who buys at these prices but i'm sticking with Fairfax and Frederick stores. read more

Okay so this place is AMAZING, if you are into music at all you should check it out. As you can see from the pictures this place has a really chill and cool vibe. The selection is the best part of this place. soo much music!! Now price, umm it is mixed. Some things I can't believe that have for so cheep and some things I think are a bit expensive, I guess like anything shop around. But like I said the place is worth going to just the look around, you are sure to find some cool stuff. read more
