I have been going to McKay Used Books for many years now. As a teacher, I really like seeking out…read morechildren books and teacher books. My husband likes to browse music books, and all sorts of books. It is simply a great place to go and wander and find those books that speak to you. The prices are great too. Now don't just wander, be sure to buy those good books!

I have been shopping at this store for years now, unfortunately todays trip will be my last. Mckays…read morehas always had inaccurate pricing, but today they were so bad that I almost thought I was dreaming. Tell me why I saw Star Wars the Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels for $18... Currently this game goes for $3.67 on pricecharting, heck when it game out in 2008 its peak was only a measly $5. Multiple gbc/gba shovelware games all overmarket, by around 10 dollars as well. In general the amount of 3-5 dollar games that they are trying to pass off as 15 - 20 dollar games is dis gracefully disgusting. The point of traveling to these stores are to get the good deals. All of the inventory they have are traded in for or donated so it makes NO sense! It seems that the employees make guesses when it comes to prices, that or they are being told to overprice by upper management. By the gaming section there was a sign that claimed that all of the consoles and equipment is tested beforehand by "gamers with over 30 years of experience" whatever that means. I got an Xbox One Kinect from them back in December, and worked normally. A couple days later I wanted to try using its mic functionality, was not functioning. So it was never fully tested by "gamers with over 30 years of experience" lol. The worst part is that they give you a 3 day warranty... it's not like people have kids, jobs, or other commitments I guess. The media (dvds and blu rays) were also overpriced per usual. Usually only by 5-10 bucks. My main discrepancy today was that I saw multiple dvds and blu rays with dirt and filth smattered on the covers. Your telling me that they have the audacity to up charge, and still refuse to even spend 10 seconds wiping the cover with a lysol wipe? Is it that hard to do? Disgusting! I can't speak on their book pricing as I am not well versed but pretty much everything else is overpriced in this store. It really sucks because these type of stores are supposed to be for lower income families who can't buy new. And instead is being treated like a greedy gaming convention booth. I genuinely feel bad for kids nowadays who want to start growing a small gaming collection post pandemic. With greedy "thrift" stores like this, even the shovel ware games are off-limits.

Rating 3 stars ONLY because it's a new clean store, but the customer service skills need…read morerenovation, still. And of course, never any floor people available to ask help. Whoever the female cashier was at register #4565. Not a single Hello. She did ask if I had a rewards card, but got frustrated when I tried to search for it. She didn't even do the bare minimum. She didn't offer a bag when it was RAINING HARD and I had purchased more than 3 books . She handed me one after I asked, and then didn't even bag them herself. (You're getting paid to be a cashier, act like one.) Mind you, this is the second time I've experienced a rude cashier with poor, disgruntled attitude.

I visit this B&N location quite often, and I like it for several reasons…read more 1. There is always parking when I visit 2. I like the way the store is set up/organized 3. I like that this B&N has CHAIRS!!! I think the chairs are such an underrated feature of B&Ns, and I appreciate that this one has little reading 'nooks' throughout the store, so you can kind of hang out and enjoy the bookstore ambiance while you read and maybe sip your little drinky drink! This is one of the few Barnes locations in the surrounding areas that actually has chairs and/or book nooks. The employees are very nice and helpful and the store is always in good order and clean. I've had no issues in this store. The only thing that I might consider a potential downside is that this location is quite busy typically, so if you're looking for a quiet, empty Barnes, this isn't the one!

Inside / Interior of this beautifully resurrected Barnes & Noble in Reston (near Harris Teeter in the old Office Depot space). WOW!
