Pro: big parking lot, clean environment, coffee shop inside store, games & toy for sale. Con: none. After finishing my meal at a restaurant we decided to see what stores were around Apple Blossom Mall area and came upon this store. The parking lot is big so no issue there and the inside was very clean with many rows of books. They also sell games and toys along side the books. Also , there is a coffee shop inside if you like. I wasn't able to find a book that caught by interest but I would recommend anyone to come in and take a look around. read more

The 1990s are back! Actually half joking, as wasn't aware this company had survived. Borders got rocked, as did many book stores when e readers came out. This store withstood that, and it was a pleasure to visit. It's a nice looking place, and pricing is competitive. Always happy to find a book store. They have quite the selection here. Name the subject as they'll have it covered. The store seems well staffed, and with decent folks. Parking is challenging, but just smiling to spend time in here. Got a new book on submarine warfare, and already enjoying it. If you're in the area a safe bet. read more

The staff is always very kind to me when I visit. They help me find some of the books that are less popular or prominent in the store. The selection could definitely be better. It can be hard to find good books that aren't on Tik Tok, or books that aren't romance or fantasy. The pricing for some books can be exorbitant, but you can find great books in the sale section. Fucking ridiculous. I was browsing the humor section when I found that someone had snuck a couple political philosophies, not to mention a Bible, onto the shelf. I am disgusted that an employee did not pick up on this, and offended as a conservative Christian man. Next time I read something will be when I need directions to any other bookstore. read more

Very hit or miss, but more miss then hit. Spent months trying to track down a manga from them, lied to me several times and got sent through several hoops to no avail. Ordered it from barnes and noble and arrived in mint condition within 3 days. read more

What a friendly and helpful staff you have. It was nice to walk in and be greeted, but even nicer to have somebody not treat me like trash when I asked for a Bible. I've had a pretty different experience at Barnes & Noble over the years. The people in the café were super nice as well. The lady actually brought the coffee to my table while I was studying because she saw that I was engrossed. That's pretty classy. I do want to encourage you guys to do something about cleaning up the men's room though. It was badly outdated, dirty and was ready for some maintenance. read more

I'm updating my review. This place still sucks. The workers could care less about you. I repeat: The workers don't care. Need help? So what. Looking for certain book? Who cares. Want to get a coffee? They don't know how to make one. By the way--speaking of the coffee stall--it's more expensive than Starbucks and worse than low-end tier gas station coffee. I once got a coffee that tasted like soap. The worker said, "It's probably from the cleaner that we use to clean the urns." Didn't offer a new coffee. What a joke. This bookstore is always messy. Nothing is where it should be. Everything is expensive. "Wow, this book is $15 cheaper on Amazon," is something you will say a lot. Then again, they don't care about selling books anymore; the corporate model relies on selling overpriced, garbage merch. Do me a favor, don't spend $45 on an action figure, or $60 on an anime you can get for $20 elsewhere. As you can tell, I hate this place. read more

Employees are totally untrained. I called to ask if there would be a midnight release for "go set a watchman", i was told "i dont think so." I then asked how many copies they were getting in. The response i received was "i dont know". No offer to ask a manager and get back to me or anything. The store usually looks pretty organized, and ive always had good experienced at the barista connected to the store. They should definitely work on engaging customers though. read more

This bookstore has a large selection and is reminiscent of Borders, complete with an in-house coffee shop. However, some of the sections lack any organizational system whatsoever. And unlike other large chain bookstores, there are no computers where you can conduct a self-search for a book to find if it's in stock. You have to hunt down an employee and ask them to find it for you. Speaking of the employees... checking out is an unpleasant process because of all the useless offers they push on their customers, and some of them go about this quite aggressively. One employee was so pushy that she even had the nerve to ask me WHY I didn't want to sign up for their magazine offer. It was very off-putting. The other offer they try to shove at their customers is their membership savings card. It costs $25 a year, and while it can give you access to some discounts, it's not economical unless you plan on spending a good deal of money at this store. I, for one, do not. read more

Nice bookstore to stroll through and check out what's new. There were some clearance racks outside with a variety of very well priced cookbooks, novels and other genres of reading. Cool place to hang out and reasonable sale prices/discounts off of MSRP for most of the books on the shelves. read more

Last month I asked that Books a Million provide (buy) more push carts for their physically challenged customers. They did it very promptly per my request and I commend them greatly for doing so. We stopped in here after dinner to look for some knitting books because I need a new project. We were some of the very few customers in the store, and we never ran into any employees until we went up to check out so we just wandered around until we found the section we were looking for. The section where knitting books are found is titled Crafts and is then divided into several different shelves... knitting, quilting, sewing, paper crafts, etc. So it should be easy to browse through the books that are just about knitting, right? Nope. The section was a complete mess. Books were sideways, backwards, upside down and all the craft types were mixed together. Laying down on the shelf and stacked from front to back. It looked like they hadn't bothered to mess with this section in weeks. I mean... I doubt a huge group of crafters came in right before us and just destroyed the section. It obviously doesn't get much attention. I looked through the books and didn't find anything I wanted so we moved on to magazines. Everything was okay here, except for one thing that kinda bothered me.... they don't have any gay or lesbian magazines. There was one self proclaimed "Hetero-friendly gay travel magazine" and it was in the Men's magazine's section under "outdoors". ???? A couple years ago at this location I was able to find The Advocate, and a few other gay men's magazines at least. Maybe this has something to do with management? Because pretty much the entire righthand wall down the length of the store is filled with bibles. I know there are a lot of religious people in this area, and there are many different versions of the bible... but I've only seen bible selections that rivaled this one at Christian bookstores. One cool thing though... up at the register, they have a small selection of Kid Robot pins, smoking bunnies, and zipper pulls! I'll probably just stick to Borders. read more

I love Books-A-Million. They are my favorite place to go to get my speciality coffee drinks. The drinks taste amazing. I also love reading here. It's such a nice environment and I've read almost a full book in one sitting before. They also have a really nice teacher discount card that I use frequently as a kindergarten teacher. read more

Last large format book store in the area. They have like a million books, for real. I could spend a lot of time in here. It had been so long since I'd been to a Borders or Barnes & Noble type of store and I had forgotten how much I enjoy going through tons of books and discovering all kinds of great finds in a non digital environment. Like how they used to read in olden days. I love my kindle, but its so much more fun to just flip through an endless sea of books you've never seen before. Love the cooking section. I wonder how long it would take to make each recipe in each book back to back. I'm guessing like at least a bazillion hours. read more

I'm DONE with BAM. My husband and I went in to get a fiction novel and an art book. Thankfully the novel was easy to find. However, after searching the store from front to back, the art section wasn't to be found... So we found associate #1. She was fixing books on the back shelf, sitting on the floor. Couldn't be bothered to get up to help us, but directed us back to the front of the store to have someone else use the computer to see if they had any of the books we were looking for. Associate #2 was dragged away from vacuuming long enough to tell us that their computer wouldn't really work well to find the kind of book we were looking for, but she could lead us to the art section... which was three rows in front of associate #1. She commented that associate #1 was new, so apparently that made everything okay. She then told us that the art section wasn't organized very well, but she was sure we could find what we were looking for there. Then left us. To say that it 'wasn't organized' is an understatement. I'm fairly sure it hasn't been touched by an employee in months. After searching for nearly 10 minutes in utter frustration, we head up to the front to check out with the novel from the beginning of the journey. Associate #3 materialized, walked to the registers, hesitated, then told us to head over to the coffee shop register to check out since the cashier was in the bathroom. I'm fairly sure this is when my eye started twitching in frustration. Once at the coffee register, associate #4 spent five minutes cleaning something in the sink and checking one of the machines before acknowledging us. He seemed confused to see us in general. I explained being sent over to check out because the cashier was in the bathroom. More confusion ensued. I then asked for corporates number. He just blank stared at me, deer-in-headlights style while vaguely looking at the screen, shuffling some sale pamphlets, and telling me "no.... no, i don't think i... no"..... I was then asked if I was trying to return something. Thankfully he managed to call for a manager when I asked him. Apparently associate #3, WAS the manager. He came over, we went back over the conversation of wanting to be checked out AND given corporates number. He turned, to associate #4, horrifically shocked, and asked, "What did you do?!" Apparently he also didn't have corporates number, but offered to give me a survey! Then he proceeded to ring us up at the coffee register. I went home and found corporates number in less than ten seconds on their webpage. read more

This is the McDonalds of bookstores. The employees are untrained (Me: "Where are the biographies?" Clerk: "I don't really know.") and careless (the books are racked in no particular order; you might find James Joyce next to Nora Roberts). Once you get to the cash register, you're assaulted with "offers" for discount cards and magazine subscriptions. I hate to criticize a bookstore, since there are so few left. But this one is abysmal. I just spent 10 minutes on the phone trying to cancel the 3 "free" magazines that BAM sales people push on you when you use a credit card to buy a book at their stores. By signing the slip you are agreeing to a never ending magazine subscription and the charges automatically keep appearing on your bill. Seriously unfortunate that this has to be the only bookstore nearby. Horrible customer service! And I hope you never get a book you already have as a gift because they say they will "never" exchange a book without a receipt, "ever." I went in today because my daughter got a book (one in a series) for her birthday that she already has. I went in to just exchange it for the other book in the series and the cashier said absolutely not, she will not return it and she would only exchange it for the exact same thing. Why would I want to exchange a book for the exact same book? That makes no sense. She wasn't even nice about. I rather order my books online or drive over an hour to a Barnes and noble than come back to this store. And on top of all that the selection in this store is crap! So to sum it up, rude service, ridiculous return policy, small, overpriced selection and can I say rude customer service again. Yeah, cashier at 2:25 pm today, you need to find a job where you don't talk to other people. read more
