So, I've been a client of State Farm since 1984. Earl Jordan has been my insurance agent since January 2000 and during that time I have purchased and owned 5 vehicles all insured by State Farm. I recently purchased a new vehicle and with that came the request for quotes on coverages for that vehicle. Since I planned to keep my current vehicle I found myself looking into multi-car insurance coverage. So I went to Earl's office and met for the time Earl's assistant Maria Gonzalez. She helped me work through and understand all the varied coverage options for each vehicle while also streamlining coverages for both to try and find the most affordable coverages possible in this time of high insurance costs that we all find ourselves in. After over an hour of playing with coverage amounts, deductibles and anticipated annual miles I would be driving we finally came to annual premium amounts that I found worked within my budget. Several days later I received a notification regarding the new coverage on one of the vehicles but I realized that it was not quite what I was expecting premium amount wise. I picked up the phone, called Maria and before I could ask about the premium amount she already knew about it had already made arrangements to correct and resend me an amended notification. Called Earl, who I've known socially for year, to see if he could save me some money when my Homeowner's Ins came up for review. Earl's office was responsive.. calling back within an hour... and his service was AMAZING. Earl reviewed both my Home and Car policies and found that I was majorly under-insured for car liability. Been with Earl for over 12 long years. He was my agent and we insured everything through him. He posed as someone who knew my family and situation and at times was a confident. But the second I made a small claim - the first one in those 12 years - and he did a little work for me (negotiating a rental car price and referring me to a body shop), he became a different person. Not that it's a big deal, but the car-rental price he negotiated for me was not upheld once I arrived at Enterprise. And the body shop did exactly what I asked them NOT to do. Yet, Earl felt I should have called him with Thank You's. .... for doing his job, for which I've paid for over the last 12.5 years. When I asked him to contact State Farm for me to help me get my deductible back, he became upset and hung up on me (after saying he wouldn't "fight over $1000" - well, $1000 is a lot to me. I have recommended him to several people I know because when I originally transferred my insurance plans to him he saved me a ton of money. My monthly car insurance went down $40 and my annual home owners insurance went down by about $500. He is thorough and caring. For those of you with short attention spans: Earl is everything you would want out of an insurance agent. He is very kind, personable, knowledgeable about State Farm's systems, and empathetic. He will save you money where he can, and will refer you to quality services if need be. If you have any common sense, have Earl take care of your insurance needs. My story: Earl has saved me so much headache and potential spending that I created a yelp profile just to write this. If you ask my closest friends, this is completely out of character for me. I bought a car that I thought was a great deal and had pretty much everything I wanted. I called Earl on a whim to set-up the car insurance. Within minutes he had me up and running, and he ran the VIN number on the car itself. Turns out the car that I bought through a large certified VW dealership had actually been in 2 major accidents that somehow were not reported on the Carfax. Total past repair costs: $10,500 on a $23,000 vehicle. Needless to say, I was was shocked. Thankfully, Earl knew of a reputable collision center that offered to look at the car free of charge. This third party pointed out at least 16 structural issues and roughly 70% of the body had work done to it. Projected future repair costs: roughtly $3-4K within 2 years I went back to the dealership, and demanded I get a comparable car. Thanks to Earl's reference, I was educated on the issues, and they complied after putting up a small fight. Because of Earl, I was saved from a lot of future heartache/headache while saving me money on my policy at the same time. I switched to Earl a few years ago because I could never get a return call from my Farmers agent let alone EVER speak to him. Upon switching to Earl, based on a recommendation from a friend of mine, I have been more than satisfied. He not only answers the phone most of the times I call he is always helpful and if he does not have the answer right then he calls quickly with an answer.
