I clearly explained my situation--that I didn't want to put money into the car, just wanted a price. The guy insisted he needed to see it, saying it could be something else. Thinking it might be a minor issue, I brought it in. All he did was check the transmission fluid level and scan for codes--both things that require no special shop skills. Then he told me I needed a brand-new transmission, not a rebuilt one. The kicker? He charged me $175 for doing almost nothing. If you're planning to have your transmission replaced, maybe they're fine for that. But for me, their customer service is a zero. I checked my own fluid and code scans are free at AutoZone--though I never had a check engine light, so no codes would have shown anyway. To make matters worse, they also charged me for a part I requested a refund for, which was never replaced, and they never refunded me. Terrible way to do business.

I called Hawk and John laughed and said that's ridiculous and yes they could fix it for around 1000.00. I also asked them to replace the motor for her driver side window. it wouldn't go up or down. Thry called when it was done and it was over 200.00 cheaper than they quoted. I asked why ( and of course I wasn't complaining) and John said it didn't need a new motor just had to rewire it. That was when I knew I would be back with any issues with my truck and my wife's in the future and would recommend them to family and friends. I dropped the vehicle off Wednesday morning and received a call later that day about the services I needed to pass. I was disappointed that it needed so much, but went forward with the procedures. The car was done and ready by Friday with a passing inspection sticker. Fred (the garage owner) ran into some issues with some of the custom parts I have, and ended up charging me less because of the difficulty he encountered. It was very much appreciated. I ran into a loud clunking noise after the work was completed. However, when I brought it back, they were more than happy to fix it and make things right. I dropped it off the night before and the fix was completed the next day. Needless to say, my Jeep has never drove straighter. The alignment was tight. My headlights are clear. My tailpipe was welded correctly after Monro made a mess of it. My brakes are responsive and smooth. I was upset with the price tag, but after realizing what a great job they did, I find that they were worth it. Would definitely use them again and suggest them for SOME custom work.

He was very responsive and made it easy for us to connect using location pinning services. He was super friendly and kind and took great care with my car. He communicated everything clearly including additional costs involved. I rode with him in the truck to the tire store and he was friendly and chatty and I appreciated that . He was incredibly kind, helpful, and caring throughout the entire experience. You don't always expect this level of service and compassion when you're far from home, especially on a holiday weekend. I have confidence in them for an honest assessment and a good job on repairs. They go the extra mile to help you ( like letting you leave a car there while you make a big decision about whether to fix it, like helping you get a copy of your registration or insurance card if you accidentally didn't bring it with you. And oh yes, they recently assessed my daughter's car and alerted her to a manufacturer's responsibility due to transmission problem. They did not charge for the assessment and ended up problem was fixed by dealer for free.) Derek and Zach were very helpful today. Derek always takes time to answer questions and explain the problems he will fix. Gives options of if I am hesitant about course of action because of expense ( wait, use less expensive parts, compensate by checking things frequently...) I have a car with 94 thousand miles which has been maintained there and I only have occasional big expenses for things that wear out. A routine maintenance is not unreasonable compared to other places. The favorable condition of my car speaks somewhat to the dependability of the Honda Civic but also is to the credit of Barry Luff Auto. They have taken care of about 6 (lost count) different cars over the years. I will keep going there.
