At drop-off I was given a thorough verbal assessment where Gino set clear expectations. At pick-up, he let me look at the shoes with him and talked me through a bit of what he'd done. The work looks great, and I'm so pleased to have these shoes back to wearable condition. I have more to bring in and know Gino will do a great job with those as well.

(Instead, they left the strap hanging from its other attachment point, dangling uselessly, and *closed* the hole it left when the strap tore out of the stitches.) So I wrote a nice note and shipped it back. And the postal service promptly lost the box, utterly beyond reclaiming. So I ended up paying for a new set of luggage after all, which I'd been trying to avoid in the first place. I called the shop, and the woman who answered told me she'd talk to her supervisor about a refund and call me back; she never called me back. Sigh. Not the small local business experience I had hoped for. :/

I had a pair of boots that were in pretty good shape, except the heels were falling off and when I came and picked them up, I was so impressed. I decided I needed to do a review. What's exciting about this places they not only take care of your shoes, but they have shoe strings in every color as well as wax. Now I know not everybody needs all these colors, but working in the furniture repair business and in the art world waxes in many colors is a treat. I love the family pictures going all the way back in time as well as the pictures of the employees that have been there forever as well. You can't go wrong walking into this place. Mike Cento is a true craftsman. He took 2 pairs of shoes, resoled them, cleaned them up, polished…read morethem, etc., and now they are like new shoes. One of the pairs, my Footjoy Classics Spikeless, stopped being produced in 2009 so I wasn't sure how difficult of a project this might be for Mike. Turns out they look better than they did when they were new! More support, better constructed, and they look brand new. Mike took a pair of shoes that were literally falling apart and brought them back to life, even better than before. These Footjoys look better than anything Footjoy sells these days! Mike did such a great job that I dropped off another pair when I picked up my last 2 pair. And I have about 3 more pairs of shoes that are in need of being recrafted, Cento Shoes will be wear I am taking them. The shop was small and crowded with items, but exactly as I'd always imagined a good dry cleaner's would look, busy! The lady asked if I was a new customer and took care of me quickly, took my info and coats and told me when they would be ready (2 or 3 days later). The price she quoted me was lower than I expected, and when I went back to pick up my items they looked fantastic! I was amazed at how nice my wool coat looked, like new! Very happy with the service and very pleased with the price. I will definitely go back for any dry cleaning needs in the future.

I have been going to Mr. Dollinger since 2008, when his shoppe was across the way from the original location for Three Sisters Cafe, on the bottom sub-floor. He has done every sort of alteration for me over the years, including letting jackets out, bringing them in, cuffs, sleeves, and every sort of pant alteration you can name. I have brought him historical Scottish regalia from over 100 years ago and he's reworked it to perfectly new condition. I've sent friends with wedding suits and dresses to him, and they've all been satisfied.
