I rarely go to dry cleaners, so when I came to Classic Cleaners I was impressed by the automated system. Its futuristic. It was my first time so a lady came out and showed me how to use the kiosk. It was straight forward. I had a stain on my scarf that I didn't think could take care of at home, and they removed it. It only took a day. Picking it up was the fun part. The machine brought it to the kiosk and the little door opened. It is pretty cool. Blanca gave me a followed up call a few days later, and answered my questions. I appreciate the personal touch. Only use this because it's close to home but have had issues. Before they switched to the automated nonsense, I told them that my husband's suit was very expensive and needed special care and it came back with every button damaged or broken. Beautiful buttons weren't even replaceable. Now they have gone to this automated system which may work fine, but I think contributes to the growing issues in society- less personable. My neighbor just had a blanket cleaned there and she was unhappy about the high cost- tho seems like prices are going up everywhere. I'd really love to find a dry cleaner that doesn't wreck everything. read more

Been bringing our down comforters here for years. The only place in INdy that cleans them properly. Today was our first time with the automated service. It's genuinely terrible and the woman working had an attitude and did not want to help. How do you put a king-sized comforter in a bag? As a first-time customer, I dropped off 3 pairs of pants and 4 dress shirts, all of which were in need of refreshing and pressing -- nothing was exceptionally dirty or had any stains. I was not familiar with their automated system (didn't even know to expect that). Here was my experience, end-to-end: 1. Stood in lobby for a while trying to figure out what I was supposed to do, and watching another customer fight with the pick-up kiosk to get her laundry (she was not happy). After several minutes, someone appeared at an open door and asked me if I was dropping off -- when I said "yes", she rather curtly directed me to the drop-off kiosk and then disappeared again. 2. I fought with the interface of the drop-off kiosk because the touch screen was misaligned (in need of calibration). Ignored the obnoxious computer voice that I found to be disingenuous and cold, despite the fakey nearly-British accent. Got hung up on dropping off my clothes because there was nothing whatsoever in the interface that allowed me to state or verify how many items I was dropping off-- this was shocking to me. I've *always* gotten confirmation of how many items I've dropped off at any cleaner I've ever used before. (What happens if something's missing at the back end???). Curt lady reappeared, and told me "we count them," and then disappeared again. (sigh...) 3. Finished up the drop-off and got NO RECEIPT, which also troubled me. I figured, they have my email, so I guess I'll get an email receipt.... Did I get one in email, though? NO. :) (sigh...) 4. Two days later, at pick up, I navigated the pick-up kiosk login process, and the machine told me I had 3 orders to pick up, and gave me a total of $54, or thereabouts. I was SHOCKED by the price! And there was no breakdown of what they charged for each item to reach that price-- and even here, there was nothing to indicate how many articles of clothing were in the entire order! I looked for surly girl, but no human seemed present or willing to show themselves. So I just swallowed my frustration, and slipped my card in, which was accepted, and then the machine whizzed and whirred, and eventually three sets of hangers dropped into the window. All my clothes were there, and were acceptably cleaned, but again, I got NO receipt, and nothing showed a cost break-down, and again, I thought that would surely come in an email. But NOOOO. (SIGH...) 5. The *only* emails I've gotten from Classic Cleaners since I created my account just a few days ago have been a "welcome" email (which Gmail flagged as spam), and an advertisement for 15% discount on cleaning of wedding dresses (seriously?!??!). Nothing whatsoever regarding my orders, or thanking me for my patronage, or any such thing. I've found the entire experience to be cold, impersonal, exorbitantly expensive, and wholly dissatisfying. This kind of shift in business practice is a glaring example of what's eroding in our society -- nobody gives a C**P about service, customer experience, or value. Just cut staff back to near zero, automate stuff, and charge WAY more to do it, and assume your customers will be happy. Well, I am NOT one of those happy customers. This is the closest dry cleaner to my house so both my fiance and I have taken our clothes here a few times. While I do feel that they are over priced, the convenience and punctual service had always made it somewhat worth it though. Unfortunately after the last visit we will not be returning due to the outrageous cost. For six items we were charged over $100. They were two slacks, one dress, two single layer gowns, and a pea coat. Before picking up we had been sent an email receipt for $64 for six items (which seemed reasonable) but at pickup they said their email receipts are incorrect and to ignore them. In breaking down the prices, they stated that because one of the dresses had a large cutout on the waist they charged it as two separate dresses - totaling $36. Nearly all the other items were also charged much more than price posted on their website. Unfortunately the gentleman working was unable to give any further explanation. He was very polite but he simply stated he isn't the person that can answer these things. read more

This was my first time using Classic Cleaners. I normally go to Tide but noticed that Classic was closer for me. I took four items--one shirt and three dresses--and was charged a ridiculous amount. I've paid the same price at Tide for 12 items that I paid here for 4 items. Two of the items were also given back to me with stains still on them, one so wrinkly it is hard to believe it was actually cleaned. read more

If this review was just about one job I they had it would be this: I had a work sweater that had feather down stuck in it. I told the lady at the front desk that the sweater was clean, but that I just wanted the lint off of it. I picked it up this morning and it looks just AS BAD as I dropped it off. $10.50 for that!!!! Very bad first impression. They shouldn't have charged me and they should just apologize they couldn't de-lint it. I guess I'm most upset because I had a conversation with the lady at the front desk and she seemed confident they could get lint off. Classic cleaners you should make this right!!! I just moved to Indy and I live in Downtown so this was the closest place I found. While it is convenient for me and their service is punctual, their prices are OUTRAGEOUS!!!!! I just paid $110 for 10 items: 6 blouses (from $10-12 each), a dress ($16.65!!!!) that had a small stain and I mentioned it and they marked it and now the stain is STILL THERE, you can see the stain in the pictures, a sweater ($10.65) and a skort ($9.25). The skort came in with 2 little light red stain that weren't there (also in the pictures) and a note that "further attempts to remove them may result in injury to the color or fabric". The stains were not there!!! Also the blouses that I were charged like $10 for need to be slightly ironed and one of them has a stain on the collar! (Also in the picture). I've been getting dry cleaning services for years in different states as Ive lived in several different places and I have never had such an experience!!! read more

When I dropped off my dry cleaning, I was a little upset when they told me they weren't sure when they would be back because the computer system was down. An hour later, I received a phone call from the manager telling me that the computer system was been fixed, my clothes had gone out, and they would be back later the same day. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have received a personal phone call from any other dry cleaner, unprompted, letting me know this. I have been very pleased with Classic Cleaners for the few years I've used them, and I'm very excited to see that they've opened a downtown location close to me. read more

I had a great experience at Classic Cleaners downtown! It's conveniently located to my home and office, with tons of pick up lockers in the area to make it even easier. I dry-cleaned a dirty down parka that I was nervous to give to the cleaners since I got it 4 years ago. It's beautiful and spotless, handled very carefully by the stain specialist. My other items included a couple suits and shirts, which all look fantastic too. My order was done in less than two days - a very quick turnaround in my opinion. A tad pricier than Tide Cleaners, but you get what you pay for: quality! read more

STAY AWAY. Totally unethical business that ruined an expensive pair of pants, didn't return the item or even tell us it was damaged, and the manager could not care less. Not only that, this place is waaaaayyy overpriced. I called and spoke with the manager, Cecilia, to ask why we weren't told about the pants allegedly being torn (note: they were not torn when I dropped them off), and why they weren't returned to us until we realized two days later that they were missing. She told me there was a note on my account that said they tried calling me but my number was incorrect, so they couldn't get a hold of me. That was ABSOLUTELY FALSE and I told her that they did in fact call me, and that I'd even come show her my missed call log if she didn't believe me. I don't answer calls if I don't recognize the number, and they never tried to leave me a voicemail or contact me again. She also didn't have an answer when I asked why we weren't told about the pants or given them back when my boyfriend went to pick up the order. When I asked how this situation was going to be rectified, she condescendingly told me in the future they could text me with order updates in addition to leaving me a voicemail. I told her that seemed like common sense and would be fine in case we ever decided to go back, but we won't. read more

I had dropped off 5 shirts. One of the dress shirts I dropped I had just gotten and just needed it dry cleaned for a wedding I have to go to. I got my shirt back today and the front of it had a large brown stain on the front of it. Very displeased as I am using this shirt for a wedding this weekend and it was a brand new dress shirt. read more

If you depend on the kiosk system working, don't go here. Tonight was the second time the 24-hour kiosk didn't work and unlock the door preventing me from picking up my shirts. Since I wear suits everyday, I depend on the cleaners delivering on their promise. The kiosk is the main reason I go because otherwise their turn-around time is too slow. Other cleaners have same day service for basically the same price. When you contact the company via their contact email, there is no response. When you go to the store when it is open, the response is some casual computer glitch. Well, it is a regularly occurring glitch. read more

In India everyone has their clothes ironed by professional ironers - called dhobiwallas. The people use heavy irons, warmed by coals, and the result is impeccably crisp-looking clothes. I have been going to this location for 18 months and prices were high but service was near, so I went with it. The other day I walked in with several pieces of clothing. Suits. Dress shirts. And some casual clothing I requested to be laundered at the $2 a pound rate. They have done this for me numerous times and I liked the service. Today I picked up cleaning and all the stuff that should have been laundered was dry cleaned. Several Tshirts that I would have thrown away before I paid $7 a piece to wash. When I questioned the bill Cicillia Jennings said sorry sir thats our policy and next time you should better explain. The problem is that I tried to better explain when I dropped off and she was rushing me out of the store because it was rush hour and she threw everything back into my bag that I was sorting on counter and she said she understood. When I asked for a refund she said that she could do nothing about it as it already happened. Year to date I have spent well over $1000 there and have never complained. When I said I will now consider taking my business someplace else and I would like to discuss with owner, she just said that you will just have to do that then. Two weeks ago I would have rated high stars but after being burnt on their mistake and merely just requesting a credit/refund without even trying to be heard by management and this makes me upset that this is how they treat one of their most loyal customers. read more

The coin laundry pricing in my building is ridiculous (price you pay for living downtown I guess) so I've recently started using this new Classic Cleaners location's family laundry services. They're awesome. Now don't take awesome to mean without fault. Our 3rd time using their services our clothes were lost. I'm sure it seems crazy to give them 5 star review after that but the customer service was awesome. I'm guessing she's the manager because she's always at the front desk.... She called us right away explained the situation and got it all figured out in a couple hours. Plus they didn't charge us because of the mix up. NO BUSINESS ETHICS! STAY CLEAR! I took two 5 x 8 area rugs in to this bunch for removal of some very faint pet stains. They charged me a BREATHTAKINGLY EXORBITANT $5 per square foot for the work. That's $200 FOR EACH RUG!!! Not only was the price ridiculous, but they didn't get the stains out successfully. As a matter of fact, after trying twice to remove the stains the rugs are now ruined and discolored. I paid $1400 for the two rugs at Pottery Barn! So, now I am out the $1400 plus the additional $400 that Classic Cleaners refuses to refund. Managements' response to my complaint was that (1) we never said we could get the stain out (2) we don't necessarily guarantee our results will be satisfactory and (3) we're keeping the entire $400 because "we did the work". Well, in fact they DID say they could get the stains out, and they said it the first time I dropped the rugs off and again when I had them try again to actually do what I paid them FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS to do. I was told twice that the results were guaranteed as well. And, finally, did you really "do the work"? I suppose this roll-the-dice attitude and lack of any sort of money-back guarantee applies to their regular dry cleaning services as well. I would NEVER trust them to clean anything of value. I took 2 dress shirts to this location last week, thinking it would be no more than a couple dollars per shirt to have cleaned (per their advertising decal on their front window). When I went to go pick them up, the cost was $17! I was shocked. I asked why on earth it cost $17 to clean two shirts (when their advertising decal in the window promotes cleaning of dress shirts for $2.??.) I asked why that didn't apply to my shirts and the girl told me it was because my shirts were "women" dress shirts and they have an extra seem in the back so they cost more to clean. .....what?? It also took 2 full days... for them to clean 2 shirts. I will be taking my "womens" dress shirts to another business next time. read more

This place is INCREDIBLY overpriced. I would go because I lived nearby. Recently I took two sweaters and two shirts in to be dry cleaned and the woman told me they would have to charge me extra because there were a few strands of cat hair on one sweater. I asked why and she said it was an allergen and they have to charge $2 per item because they would lint roll them before they were dry cleaned. Are you serious?! My men's button down cost over $8 to clean (6/20/15). I recall the price being under $7 prior to 2015. The upside is they have an automated email alert that tells you when shirt ready, but they need to change the From Sender field because all it says is No Reply instead of the name of the place. read more

This place is efficient (email confirmations) and good at what they do, but a little pricey. I have some dress shirts with dingy collars and my former cleaners said they could not be cleaned. Not great, very unprofessional and half assed dry cleaning/service. Took 2 coats in here to get dry cleaned, I asked "How much will it be to get these dry cleaned?" Girl at the counter looked at them and said $12 each, $24 for both, I dropped them off wanting to support a local business as I live downtown. I picked them up the next week and she said it will be $34, I was like you told me it was $24 when I dropped them off, then she's like "this is a down coat, it's more" we'll 1 it's not a down coat and 2 you looked at them when I dropped them off. To top it off I opened one coat to wear home and the inside was not cleaned, I mentioned it to her and showed her the dirt on the inside of the wool and she didn't care and did not even try to make it right. Very very unprofessional, I won't be using this Dry Cleaner again, if you know of a good one downtown let me know. Experience was unacceptable. read more

I have brought numerous items here since moving to Indianapolis and had been satisfied overall. Recently, however I dropped off a couple items and was quoted a price by the person at the desk. I was then given a receipt without any prices on it. When I came back to pick up the items I was told that they would cost over three times what I had been quoted. I had no recourse as my receipt had no price and it was my word against their employee's word. When I worked with this employee and the branch manager, neither provided good customer service. It took over a week to correct this mistake. I was disappointed with the customer service. However, I've just been contacted by one of the corporate managers who clarified what happened with the incident. I was impressed by the way the corporate manager handled the event and it is clear that they value customer service. I'll continue to take my items there (especially on Tuesdays!) and trust that I'll continue to receive the customer service I've been accustomed to there. read more
