The staff have been warm and welcoming and followed our recommendations and requests without many issues. The kids appear to be well cared for and are taught basic social skills, abc's and 1-2-3's, as well as many other skills. As an example, she learned simple, basic sign language, which we had no part in teaching; however, we recognize and appreciate the skill. Especially for a young, pre-vocal toddler. They also have the kids participate in art and learning activities. Parents are given some really sweet projects, made by the kids and supervised (sometimes a lot!) by the teachers and they just started a music program and put on a Christmas show for the kids to show off their musical talent! Staff turnover has sometimes been an issue; however, as rewarding as it may be, that could NOT be an easy job! What keeps us coming back is the fact that she is happy to arrive/stay in the morning and the smile and excitement is still there in the afternoon, at pick-up time. I thank the staff and administration for the programs which they offer and the dedication to the kids which they share and would recommend AAC for childcare.

Just a little over two months ago my son started at Once Upon a Daycare (right behind Jersey's) in green and I cannot tell you the night and day difference I have seen with him. While atkas is only 2, he has shown many milestone delays, especially with speech, as well as showing several austisic traits. With all of that said-- Miss Rosie has such incredible knowledge with the extra help that he has needed and I have found myself able to breathe a little bit again. I cannot say great enough things about finding this place and Miss Rosie-- but if you're looking for an affordable, helpful, fun place for your kid to go I highly recommend Once Upon a Daycare!

For more than a year, we would ask the pastor again every few months, only to hear "I'll call you," or "I'll be touch." One Sunday they announced a new member class from the pulpit. We signed up for the class in the church office (only names on it at the time). Nobody ever mentioned the class again and nobody contacted us about it. In the meantime, the children's church school teacher brought up to the students (including our daughter) about becoming acolytes. Our daughter was interested and we were told to speak to a committee leader. She also put us off with "I'll be in touch" for several months until she had our daughter acolyte one time as a helper. We asked when she could do it again and were told, "Sorry, I just made the schedule for the next year, and there are no dates open." We stopped attending the church.

My daughter has been attending Kids Academy since 2017 and my son since 2020, and it feels like a…read moresecond home for them. Many of the teachers who were there when my now five-year-old started as a baby are still there now taking care of my three-year-old. They did a great job keeping everyone safe during the pandemic and managed to close for only two and a half months. It has all the convenience of a corporate daycare center, but has a tight-knit family vibe, which is nice. Probably the biggest con is that they don't provide lunch, so we have to pack their lunches every day. They do provide breakfast and an afternoon snack, though. You can tell the teachers genuinely love and care for the kids. My daughter had some behavioral issues when she was three, and they were so patient with her and worked with her and us to get her through it, which I really appreciate. My daughter will be going there a few days a week this summer, and they have fun field trips planned three days a week for the school-aged kids. Next year will be my son's last year there full-time, and I'm genuinely bummed about it!

It's just lazy not to offer any daytime classes. It makes me wonder if their business is sustainable. However, the main point of this review is their lack of mask policy. They admit that their parent viewing room gets crowded, yet they don't require masks. And apparently, being two doors down from the health department makes them experts! It's important that gyms such as these, which encourage large, social gatherings of strangers, continue to respect all parties involved. Lacking an effective masking and social distancing policy is disrespectful to those who may wish to continue to use caution during social events. While children are at low risk of complications from COVID, since the gym requires no medical information, they cannot know the health of all of the people who might come into their gym. Other gyms encourage masks, and work to help prevent congested areas, in accordance with national and international recommendations from the medical community. Since NEO Allstarshas decided that they know better than the medical community at large, it seems wise to avoid them. A business that would neglect such basic standards, surely can't provide a safe athletic environment.

I do pool exercise here because the place where I was doing pool therapy cut their hours to six a…read moreweek. Here it is open much longer hours and I can go pretty much when it's convenient for me, unless I want to go during their 1 - 2 PM lunch hour. Lots of activities and classes. Another advantage is the fact that the pool does have a deep (12 foot) end; a lot of public pools don't have a deep end like that, and for my exercise, that makes them useless.

Also, you never feel insecure while working out here for some reason. I really feel at home here and everyone is friendly and more than happy to help. I take the kids swimming and even to work out since they have a youth workout room with age appropriate equipment. The basketball court is usually available and the raquetball courts aren too. They even have raquets if you need them. I prefer the Y to the rec center and will be a member for life.
