As the name says, they rescue Boston Terriers(BT) and find them loving and caring homes. If they find that the dogs they've rescued needs medical help, they will get them the help they need. I cannot say enough about how amazing the group of volunteers here are. They're never more than a phone call away and they've never made me feel as if I was being a bother to them. Please keep in mind that if you decide to foster or adopt a pup from them, they will definitely take all measures to make sure they find the right home for their dogs. For example, some dogs might need to be the only dog in the house while other dogs thrive with more dogs to hang out with. For those of you that don't know anything about BT's I have to tell you that they're a great dog... silly, funny, crazy, sweet, smart and extremely loyal. We now own our second BT and I can now say we'll probably be BT owners for life! They are run on donations and have several events through the year to raise funds for the shelter whether it be through auctions, BT calendars sale, and donations through their website. If you're looking to adopt a furry companion I definitely recommend you looking here, I promise you won't be sorry. If you can, please remember to adopt don't shop!

I would cry myself to sleep every night praying for my dog Maggie's safe return. Thankfully my baby girl Maggie was microchipped. I was reunited with my dog Maggie around February of 2021 with the help of my best friend Nikki (who is starting a Boston Terrier rescue in Santa Rosa, California very soon) and with the help of Boston Terrier Rescue of Florida. Maggie was found under the same pier in Cocoa Beach where she disappeared. It was a miracle and I'll always be grateful to Boston Terrier Rescue of Florida for all that they did to help me get my baby back. Please always have your animals microchipped. If you lose your animal, always keep your microchip registration up to date, and please don't ever give up hope. Keep searching for your animal, don't let anyone talk you out of this important step in finding your child and being reunited once again. Please don't be confused, this organization isn't a scam site. They are run by volunteers and these volunteers help these dear animals out of the kindness of their hearts. If you find it difficult to reach someone by contacting this organization, just keep trying. If you need to surrender you dog, for any reason, please don't give up on trying to contact someone who will take your dog for you. I signed in & met with Stella she was compassionate , kind , friendly & I felt comfortable in her environment & judgement free after the intake . I was instructed to take a seat & wait for your food to be prepared for you . A elderly guy called me & escorted me to my vehicle with lots of food of all sorts of things . I was so surprised & grateful to get my needs met after just moving into my apartment. Thank you so much for meeting my needs . Keep up the great work & I have referred my family & friends . I also donated clothing, shoes , CD's , DVD ,household goods & other items at the thrift store. I was so happy to give back .Everyone is so friendly & helpful at the thrift Store .Wow found Great deals will stop in and do shopping at a later time . They have this location in Sanford and also one in Port Orange. To date, 549 million dollars of supplies have been distributed. I was driving by and spotted Harvest Time. It looked so interesting that I had to stop to check it out. Inside is a guest services desk to help clients. The rest of the building is a store that sells discounted items. Corporate sponsors like Walmart. Disney, and CVS Health donate their extra inventory. There was pantry and frozen food including a wall of bread and bagels along with beauty items, hardware, clothes, sunglasses, pet supplies, cleaning supplies, party items, sheets and blankets, Mickey Mouse popcorn buckets straight from Disney World, and even oil for your car. Harvest Time charges a $7 membership to shop the store which I would gladly have paid if I was local but the friendly cashier let me know that one time visitors can get a free daily pass to shop. I grabbed a cart and stocked up on a summertime worth of snacks and goodies. I loved learning about this amazing organization and all of the good they are doing in the community. If you live local, Harvest Time can really help your budget. Bring your own bag!

The program was founded in 2011 by Aura Lynn who went to prison and had a change of heart. She became committed to helping women get out of the revolving door of incarceration in Seminole County. This ministry provides a holistic approach by helping women to get jobs, job training, and education. They also offer bridge housing and a food pantry. It was a pleasure to visit this large and inviting thrift store during a recent visit to Sanford. They had a selection of furniture, household goods, clothes, accessories, jewelry, shoes, small appliances, and children's toys and clothes. There is a boutique section and they also sell discounted items from the Publix bakery. In a backroom they have a treasure trove of items for one dollar. I had so much fun exploring this store and peeking around corners and opening cabinets to discover even more items. Different weekly sales are on the board out front. This is such a wonderful cause to support. If I lived locally this thrift store would be on my weekly rotation.

I visited Feeding Children Everywhere's site, and saw an event at their headquarters in Longwood. I easily signed up my family of four for a one hour slot this past Saturday morning. We arrived a few minutes before our designated time. We were greeted at the door and immediately provided a hairnet. We killed a few minutes by looking at the merchandise available at the front. After a short briefing, we were divided up and sent to a table. We were given simple tasks and trained quickly. The meal we were assigned to put together was Hamburger Hero. It consisted of pasta noodles, vegetables and a special seasoning. I love that this is a volunteer opportunity the whole family can participate in. Kids get to scoop, pour, fill bags through a funnel... my boys both were in charge of weighing the bags after they were filled. They either had to add food, or remove it depending on what the scale said. They had a blast! The fun part was that their was Christmas music blasting and a friendly competition of who could fill up the most boxes. Each time a box was filled, we would ring a bell and the whole room would cheer. So much fun! We felt good that we did at least a SMALL part of helping fight hunger. We started with placing hair nets on, taking our jewelry off then cleaning our hands and those handling food placed on gloves. We assembled meals which included chicken flavored seasoning, carrots, lentils and pasta. This day we prepared over 2,000 meals. We worked in groups following the instructions of measuring the food portions and placing the food in separate serving bags. The staff was friendly and helpful. They can around often to see if we needed anything or had any questions. This organization also has an international focus working to help areas with extreme poverty towards self sustainability. Locally tbeir efforts work to support children, veterans and seniors with meals. Donations can be made or by purchasing t shirts, cups or other items. There was a lot of energy and positive reinforcement during our volunteer hour. Other opportunities are available like internships or participating with other programs. We are looking forward to participating again.
