Unfortunately, things quickly went downhill. I was very upfront before enrolling that my daughter was coming from a Montessori environment, where children guide their own experience. I explained that transitioning into a more structured setting might take time and patience. Instead, almost immediately, I began receiving frequent calls about "disruptive" behavior. We're talking about a three-year-old having tantrums while adjusting to a completely new environment, new structure, and a recent move. That shouldn't be surprising--it should be expected and supported. What made this more frustrating was that I was repeatedly asked to leave work to address these situations. I'm fortunate to be in a leadership role with flexibility, but most working parents wouldn't be able to accommodate that level of disruption. I went in person to observe and even requested video. What I saw did not match the level of concern being communicated. It was a child expressing "I don't want to do this," not aggressive or alarming behavior. It looked like a normal adjustment period--not something that warranted the level of escalation we were experiencing. After less than a month, the school essentially gave up. I was offered a refund, and it was made clear that my child "wasn't a fit." That was disappointing. As educators, I would expect a willingness to work with a child--especially one coming from a different learning style. This could have been a success story: helping a child transition and grow. Instead, it felt like if a child doesn't immediately fit into their structure, they're not supported. I even reached out to her previous Montessori school, where she had been for over a year, to see if they had observed any of the behaviors being reported. They were genuinely surprised and confirmed they had not. During a meeting with the director, we discussed possible support strategies like peer shadowing. One teacher even referred to my daughter as "a leader," which stood out to me. If that's the case, it's even more disappointing that there wasn't an effort to guide and support that personality rather than dismiss it. Looking back, I also reviewed other feedback, and I will say this: the few lower-rated reviews aligned very closely with our experience. That's something I wish I had paid more attention to. If your child thrives in flexibility or is coming from a Montessori-style environment, I would strongly encourage asking detailed questions about how transitions are handled here. This school may work well for children who naturally fit into a very structured setting, but that was not our experience. If you're raising an independent, expressive child and don't want them forced into a rigid mold, this may not be the right environment. It felt like individuality was discouraged rather than supported.

After touring a couple of home daycares we got a tour with Hearts and Hands. Ms. Roseanna runs the show there and you could see her passion and dedication to this school and to the students. After walking the building and talking to her we felt this was a good fit for our child. They also had no issues with her not being potty trained at 3. Today was her graduation day and I reflect in the journey we took for the past year. One thing I really liked at this school is communication. Teachers and Ms Roseanna always are communicating with how your child is doing. Anytime there was a bump or scratch on your kid they always let you know with a note and explained what happened. The teachers here are all amazing individuals that truly have passion for early childhood education. Ms. Sherry is such an amazing teacher. She always kept things positive and even when there was a challenging day with my child she always presented information in a positive manner. My child really enjoyed her time with Ms. Sherry. She was such a positive influence on her and I really appreciate that. Ms. Sherry brings a so much experience to the table and it shows. I wish she was my teacher. She was also so positive and reassuring when we were doing potty training. My child is now trained in time for tk thanks for her patience and dedication along with other teachers contributions. They never once got frustrated with her accidents which was so nice Ms. Christina who is no longer with the school was also very impactful in getting her ready for tk/kindergarten. She had a little more direct teaching style but it really instilled the structure in the kids like having them sit quietly. She also was very good about getting kids prepared with numbers and letter recognition. Ms. Swati is a very friendly and great with getting the kids lined up and organized. She was also very helpful days where my child didn't have an easy drop off. She always remembered my name and I always enjoyed the morning conversations and they will be missed. Ms. Bridgette is always smiling and friendly. My child didn't attend her class but any child who is in her class is lucky to have her. She super sweet. The facilities are perfect for a daycare setting. Plenty of toys, puzzles and activities. Outdoor playground is perfect for the kiddos as well. Things always seemed clean when I would drop off and pick-up Pricing is on par with what most folks are charging in the area. Overall I highly recommend this school to anyone needing a child care. I am blessed to have found this place and I know it had a very positive impact on my child's future and I'm thankful to Ms. Roseanna and all the teachers.

It is daycare out of a home just thought I'd point that out for those interested. The home is very clean inside, like not even a spec of dust from what I saw. The toys are very minimalistic, it's not cluttered, and its very organized. The facility also has two bedrooms for nap time if needed, one for smaller kids, and one for older kids. Both very clean. I could not see the backyard/outside area because it was too dark to see. Overall my walk through was uneventful but I did get the overall feel of the space and the person who would be watching my baby. We did meet at 5:30 as the other rating did mention, but i'm assuming it's because the hours of the daycare are 8AM-5PM and its probably a safety concern to have an unknown adult in the space with multiple children and one caregiver. I would also not want anyone i don't know or haven't met allowed in the space with my child if my child was enrolled there. The location I was at was the home space so, I can understand if that's the only time they offer because of this. There is obviously no isolated room to keep the children in while someone walked through other than a bedroom and that's a little weird to shove kids in there while trying to accommodate an adult. Anyways- based off my first visit i'd say that it's worth checking out if you're looking into childcare.
