Newly renovated store! I needed some lunch items for work and this grocery store was nearby. As I walked in I noticed how clean and organized everything looked. I saw produce on the right with big, bright signage and the left had a seating area to enjoy eating a meal. I loved browsing the frozen foods area, tons of unique and healthy looking items! I picked up a couple egg, cheese, English muffin meals for $2.50 each which looks so much healthier than McDonald's version. I grabbed two naan bread pizzas for $3 each which is so unique sounding! I also selected veggie tots on sale and noticed other EarthFare brand items offered extra points. I signed up for the points card and checkout was quick and I appreciate the paper bags instead of plastic. I'll be bringing my reusable bag next time for extra good vibes. read more

I used to shop at Earthfare every week on way home from work but ironically after it's major store renovation, I had stopped shopping here when I found a different place with lower prices, and would come periodically. The main reason why I would come was for the organic kale and fruits, in addition to the grass fed ground beef and no antibiotic/hormone chicken parts (yeah, we definitely aren't vegetarians) and sadly the meat department employees that used to work there no longer are? But the current guy who I do recognize as he was just starting several months back was still very friendly and efficient. I came this afternoon as perhaps due to the romaine lettuce contamination, it seems organic kale has been an alternative choice for lettuce eaters? I stopped by to get kale and was very pleased to find, not only organic kale, but it being on sale for $4/2, and the other one not quite $2. Great price! I unfortunately did not find any organic strawberries, must be out of season though my usual place gets them but are always picked through by the time I get there. I decided to swing by the meat area and decided to get GF ground sirloin. They tend to be around $5.99/lb - good price as they can go for much higher. (Note: the next day, I received a text that there's a sale for $3.99/lb GF which is an awesome price). I also picked up some boneless skinless chicken thighs as they are very tender and made great for the dish my son made. I was looking for a special GF/DF (gluten free, dairy free) pastry product that was advertised on FB and stated it'd be at Earthfare. Could not find it, and no one heard of it. However, there were some new frozen DF dessert ice cream bar like products that I bought. Though the renovation made the whole place feel more expansive and open, the seating area is right along the side near the front, etc . . For some reason, it lost that more intimate and cozy feel to it for me. It used to have a room that could be used for meetings or something (years ago, my son's martial arts studio held a ceremony in it, and we could easily get healthy food from their deli/food counter). That's no longer possible. They still have good prices when products are on sale, and they do carry certain things consistently and known for products without hormones nor antibiotics, so hope they stay in business. I shopped here as soon as my husband was very ill with his autoimmune disease and the food source was utmost importance. I love what they stand for and you earn points each time you come and can get other points bringing your own bags. I love that they encourage people to not use plastics (they have paper bags) but to use their own recycling bags. I was really sad when Earth Fare closed down. But, not soon after closing they reopened. Which was kind of weird, but I was just really happy they were back. The store is located right up the street from me. Because of this, I usually stop there once or twice a week, which makes it super convenient. I love how it's never too busy. I also love their selection of local products. I mainly shop here for Ollie Pop & oat milk but occasionally I'll stop by for snacks, baked goods, eggs, the bulk candy section and a few other things. Their selection of products could be a bit larger but I enjoy what they do supply. I also am a huge fan of how clean the store is and how nice the staff is. Overall, Earth Fare is a really nice store and they have a great selection of natural and organic foods and other products. read more

I have no idea whether all deli items are made fresh on site or some shipped in. A friend came to visit and brought an Earth Fare Swiss and Bacon Quiche. It should have been labeled "Swiss and maybe Bacon Quiche". There were perhaps 5 or 6 small pieces of quiche in 1/2 of the pie. It actually was like an unsweetened custard pie. Customer service is not what they will be known for in my mind from now on. I am on their email list as a regular customer from their pre-modeled store. I received a wonderful email about their special, for Fourth of July, which included six ears of corn for a dollar - can't beat that I thought! Upon my searching the store for 30 minutes for this fantastic corn deal (and asking three employees where I could find it), three times around the produce dept...they were sold out of corn. I asked them to give me a four pack of corn-The manager Jay informed me that that was not going to happen because it was a different type of corn. I told him I had driven quite a ways to get here, he stood firm in his ground. He told me that in the ad it said while supplies last. I politely asked Jay where I could find this in print and he proceeded to grab one of their sale papers and show me. I told him that was fantastic but, until they started mailing me the flyer he should honor that price that was in my email with no stipulations of the such. He still stood his ground. After he read my email and realize that there was nothing in it regarding "while supplies last" he still said it didn't matter. I asked him to call his boss and he said he would probably not answer the phone. Lucky for me he called back and told Jay to give me the 4 ears of the corn for the same price even though I lost the 6 ear deal, I don't have to drive back or to another store to pick-up corn! Not very happy for 20 minutes of my life wasted looking for corn or the 25 minutes spent with a very short, seemingly smart attitude and totally unapologetic attitude. Loved earth fare however this is my second visit that I've had a problem purchasing my milk. The sign says to bring the glass back for your refundable deposit. I bring my glass and I'm still charged for the deposit when I ask why if I have returned my glass do have to pay the deposit again, she continues to humiliate me by saying due to me using my SNAP card I will have to pay the deposit. Again may I add I've been doing this processes of bring the glass and my snap paying for the milk for a while now and I haven't had any problems until recently. I would understand if they could provide me with a valid reason for this they ethier say "i don't know" or "Oh it's because it's different when you're paying with SNAP" I go everywhere with my card and I'm able to purchase whatever food items I need with no problems. For a higher end grocery I expect a little more than average. The salmon is farm raised, but the same price as the wild caught sockeye at Sprouts. Wanted to buy macrons for the holiday, but was informed they are brought in frozen and defrosted. Their price for macrons are comparable to the bakery around the corner in the same shopping plaza, which actually produces what they sell. Just expect when spending top dollar to get better than average. read more

It's always been a great experience when I have visited the store through the years. Their hot food bar does not compare to Whole Foods, but it's still very nutritious and tasty. They have a big selection of grocery and home items. They have a meeting room near the café where people from the community can rent the space, for free, for anything. I have actually been here for a meeting about coupons, believe it or not, that did not even relate to the store. So they're gracious about letting people use that. Personally, I like the barrels and pulldown units where you can get as much of an item as you want. I get Chia seeds from here, which are very very nutritious in salads, smoothies, cereal. I'm disappointed with my entire experience at this newly reopened Earth Fare on Pelham Road. They didn't have any chicken to buy and I was told they weren't sure when it would be coming. Seemed like a ghost town in the store to me. The checkers at the front are very unfriendly, and what's up with the girl that was wearing the blue gloves? In regards to the aesthetic parts of it, it is very clean and well organized. I have been in and out 3 times already without buying anything. It is over priced. Yesterday I really wanted to buy something and give it a benefit of the doubt. I bought 3 croissants and it was stale and it seems that it was made a week ago. I ended up throwing it away. I went to Earth fare for the first time today. I am not super familiar with this tier of grocery store, but prices seemed competitive with Whole Foods. I was able to get a variety of Gluten Free and Keto friendly foodstuffs that are hard to find elsewhere. There was a good variety without being TOO huge. read more

One of the things I loved about your store is that you honored military. It wasn't about the amount of money saved as much as it was about the recognition of what our soldiers have done and do on a daily basis. We went to the hot bar and got sandwiches and although it took way longer than it should have due to a distracted employee, the food was delicious, staff was friendly and the restaurant area as well as the store was clean. I was just refused service because I did not have on a mask and refused to put one on. I am a Veteran from the 70's, and I did not serve to protect our liberties to now walk in great fear of something that is not curtailed by wearing a mask. It will be very difficult to shop at your store with this company policy in place and enforced. Also, the staff that challenged me was very polite and apologized for the policy, but he did uphold it. Pretty good selection of products. The only downside to this store is the competition. The store has lots of things that I like, but the prices are higher than at similar establishments in Greenville including World Market and Whole Foods. This has always been my favorite store in Greenville and I was treated well until today. While in the store with my children looking for valentine treats we were asked to leave even though I explained that my lack of mask was for personal health reasons and I could not wear one at this time. When I was interrupted and still asked to leave I said ok, let me talk to my husband (who was 10 yards behind me) and respectfully went to go inform him. When we turned around to try and go outside for curbside or see if I couldn't compromise for just a quick checkout and handle a mask for a few minutes, I was accosted by two more employees sent by the first one to stand directly in our path repeating again that we had to leave. As I tried to explain we were on our way out towards the front door and I had already talked to someone they kept interrupting me in front of my children and repeating multiple times that we had to leave, all while standing in our way after we had already turned away from our shopping. We were barraged, to put it lightly, disrespected and not even allowed to finish our sentences. We were not even given a couple minutes do decide how to shop there with the options given to us. Since when do paying, respectful customers who shared a legal health reason to be unmasked get treated like this? It felt like we were doing something illegal. We were, quite frankly, bullied. My children were sobbing by the time we got to the car and we walked away leaving all their goodies to find somewhere more understanding. I get that this is a complicated time. But it seems like Earth Fare has gone to an extreme and customer service has gone completely out the window. This place has a wide selection, but the prices have went up a lot in the past few years. Most of the clerks here are not friendly. I love the juice bar and that you can buy produce and have them juice it for you. Today I bought a pineapple to be juiced to help with a bad cough and they refused to juice it because it was conventionally grown. They said it would contaminate the juicer. If they really feel that strongly against pesticides, then they shouldn't carry any conventionally grown produce. They didn't have any organic pineapples so I ended up buying expensive bottled pineapple juice for my cough. Let me start off by saying I am so thankful to have the convenience of a natural food store in my backyard. When they first opened, it was my main shopping place. I recently notified in the past year it has gone down hill. The customer service sucks. Every time I call ahead to check to see if they have a product, I am placed on hold and end up hanging up because I believe they forget I'm on the line after about 10 mins. AND, when they do return to the line, their answer isn't accurate. I know this because when I get to the store, the product isn't available. Not sure what the problem is, but they need better training and need to pay attention to what the customer is asking/wants. This has happened at least 3x in the past few months when I called ahead to see if they had any organic celery in stock, as I'm a big juicer. When I go in there to make a return or if I have a question, I have to wait forever at the customer service desk before someone comes. As far as the store and products go, it's excellent. I love the variety and fact I can have healthy options at decent prices. Also, the location makes it worth the trip as it's close to everything. As studies show more links between food additives and our general health - both mental and physical- I am more and more drawn toward organic food and cleaners for my home. Earthfare has it all. The staff is for the most part friendly- and they strive to keep out ingredients like High Fructose Corn Syrup. Now of course, anyone can "eat right" by purchasing mostly fruits and veggies and local fish with a few whole grains, and many groceries allow you to find the "good stuff" that Mother Nature intended us to eat, but sometimes you want to indulge in pizza. And if I eat pizza, when I buy from Earthfare, I know that it's at least a little healthier for me if not a lot, than what I might find elsewhere with lots of food additives in it. The one thing I would like to see is absolutely no products from China. I was surprised to see that a squeaky toy for dogs was hanging on the shelf- it looked super soft and organic, but turns out it was from China - the problem with this is that Chinese don't screen for Lead, Cadmium, Chromium and other minerals that can be toxic to dogs as well as toddlers who might put that in their mouths. That was concerning to me. I would probably bump it up to a five if they found some USA made dog toys instead. Their dog food selection is good - I used to feed Wellness exclusively to my dogs, which is a pretty good brand. Earthfare is always clean, well stocked and the food tastes good in addition to being healthier. The milk and meat mostly seems to have no added hormones and a lot of the meats said "no nitrates" which are two things that you dont want in food because they are possibly toxic and possibily cause cancer. Soy products are abundantly available and they also carry local ice cream produced in Clemson by their college students!! How cool. In case that's not enough "Fonzie points" for Earthfare in my book, they also boast cosmetics of all kinds that are Animal Cruelty Free. Given that Harvard University just shut down its Chimpanzee lab, this is monumental. According to many scientific journals including the Journal of the American Medical Association, animal studies are essentially a waste of time because even high-quality animal studies will replicate poorly in human clinical research. So finding a store that supports this and allows me to purchase products supporting those who recognize both the futility and inhumanity of animals in research labs makes me very happy. I have switched all of my cosmetics and now only buy my cosmetics from Earthfare. I also purchase basic toiletries like toothpaste and sunscreen. Is it pricer? Yes and no. Depends how you budget. Since I have fewer options in the cosmetics department - especially nail polish for example), I buy less. I used to have 30+ nail polishes. Now I have 2. Same with foods- when I buy the frozen foods, my bill goes up. But when I stick to vegetables and fruits, my bill is lower than it might be even at a "normal" grocery store. So you can find ways to make Earthfare fit your budget. To me, the prices are worth the fact that I will be healthier by the things I'm putting in and on my body. Are you convinced yet? read more

I'm not sure who raised each of you, but they apparently forgot to include mannerism and respect for other's outside your skin tone. I thread very litely when dealing with race issues. It's apparent that each one of you mindset are the same. When a customer is speaking with another employee, Taylor you don't just walk up and start speaking to your co worker without saying, "Excuse me to the customer, for the need to break into our conversation." If a customer is engaged with another customer and Taylor you need to pass by, but the space is thin, just say, "Excuse Me." Your pin fell off because you needed to be checked for being so disrespectful. Francelle, when you have already asked, two customers whose engaged in a conversation, "Can I help you and we both say no thank you" keep it moving. There was no need for you to keep coming in our space. Even when you was assisting a customer and a customer is slightly in the way of reaching for a product. Instead of squeezing your way, a simple saying, "Excuse Me" would have been respectful. You would have had enough space to get the product and maybe made an additional sale. Also there was no need for you to ask me a second time if I needed help. I would have been okay if your tone wasn't dark. Maybe I needed to just stand still or I was lost in my thoughts. David, when you see two customers engaged in a conversation and the product you brought your customer to view, acknowledge the two engaged customers and simple say, "Excuse Me." Don't assume just because two customers are engaged in conversation that they weren't looking at the same products on the shelf you rudely stood in front of the two engaged customers. The customer shouldn't have to correct your manners or unprofessional behavior if you were taught to respect everyone. It's too late to say excuse me afterwards and say you assumed. Joshua, after your fourth employee the cashier (I forgot to get her name) behind where I stood decides to squeeze behind me to get something, instead of saying you guessed it, "Excuse Me" I was now provoked to go out of character. I paid for my three teas which costed $33.21. After being provoked into displeasure, I decided to get my money back. My pleasant cashier requested your assistance on my return and you asked, "If everything is okay?" I responded, "No." I then told you about your employees. I handed you my receipt. I advised you I would be calling the Corporate office. You actually asked me if I needed the number. Well, after you wrote the number 828.281.4800 (just in case someone else need to make a compliant) instead of handing me my receipt and paper you wrote the corporate number. Instead of giving me them in my hands, you place them on the countertop. RUDE, RUDE AND YES RUDE. You displayed the reason why your employees are RUDE. Everything starts at the top Leadership. Let me not forget, I requested the name of Francelle and David but wanted to make sure I was referring to the right employees. We walked over to where they both were and Francelle decides she wants to be bold. Francelle decides she wants to raise her voice while I'm stating her part of being rude. Not only did she display lack of respect for you as the Manager she showed her true color of who is actually is and of who I detected by her rudeness. You shouldn't have to tell her or any employee to walk away. She escalated the tone because of her voice. Remember I am the customer and it use to be customers are always right. I actually believe when a person is wrong they are wrong, period. I called Corporate before leaving the parking lot and left a message. It's apparent you and your staff need a crash course on Interpersonal Relations. Lastly, after reading the comments here, I'm not surprised I experienced my what started as being pleasant day to turn dark. Earth Fare employees definitely are NOT FARE to all. You all cost Earth Fare to lose $33.21. I'll drive the extra miles and spend my money where I'm respected and the staff are pleasant. Yeah, I like this place. We go waaaaaay back. I used to eat at their food bar when they were on Augusta Road. I like that I can buy unusual items here like goat's yogurt, items by The Ginger People, Ezekiel and Manna breads, whole grains in bulk like buckwheat flour and spelt, stevia powder, aluminum-free baking powder, etc. If you're on some freaky special diet like gluten-free, sugar-free, vegetarian, vegan, high protein-low carb, macrobiotic, they've got the food items you need. Also, Earth Fare offers old-style Coca-Cola made in Mexico that is still sweetened with sugar, not HFCS--it tastes so much better like I remember as a kid. They have a great selection of vitamin and dietary supplements. And they offer all the health-related products you can think of, including Edgar Cayce products, homeopathics, and a wide variety of books. I'd like to say I'm a loyal customer, but I'm not. I'm a food-whore: I'll go where it's cheapest, and Earth Fare has lots of stiff competition from Whole Foods and the Fresh Market these days. The location is pretty good, actually--on Pelham right off I-85, so you can zip off and on the freeway real quick-like. This is where Earth Fare has the advantage. Whole Foods and Trader Joe's are on Woodruff Rd, where the traffic can be god-awful, especially on weekends and around Christmas. At times I've spent a half hour getting from I-85 to the Greenville Mall--a distance of a couple hundred yards. Don't drink a lot of coffee when you go driving on Woodruff Road unless you're wearing Depends, or you'll be sorry. Yep, it's just like the Earth Fare in Asheville without the hippies. read more

I love this store. Their meat and fish, especially the wild caught salmon, is amazing and amazingly priced. Fresh fruit and vegetables are better than I can get at Walmart or BiLo, and competitively priced for the most common items. There is a deli in store where you can get sandwiches and meals and a comfortable seating area to sit down and eat your food. Yes, a lot of their items are pricy but the sales are great. They are located in a nice strip mall alongside Pelham Road, very convenient for shoppers looking for non GMO and organic foods, and humanely raised meat. I would like to like them more since Asheville is right up the road and that makes Earth Fare practically a home town store. I have shopped at the Greenville, SC store and a couple of others, and find Greenville store a real disappointment. Deli items are not made on the premises. Neither are baked goods and there is not much selection of these. Staffing is sparse and service is spotty; employees seem nice in a chatty way (with customers, and especially with each other) but customer service can be inattentive and hard to locate. A particularly annoying practice (this may be a company-wide policy, but I did not encounter it in store up north) is a demand that ID be produced to purchase beer or wine by anyone who appears younger than 60 (!) I easily appear well past 21 and find it an absurd invasion of privacy. I do not buy alcohol at Earth Fare now. Plenty of room for improvement. read more

I was sad to leave Huntersville, NC because I lived by the Earth Fare there. Amazing salad bar, soup choices, etc. However, I discovered Greenville had one and my hopes were raised! Unfortunately, this Earth Fare was terrible. Had the choices of spinach, cheese, and salad dressing for the salad bar. Not even raisins! I asked for any nuts or raisins and just was stared at. One of the best things most Earth Fare delis have is the chicken and dumplings. Haven't seen that here yet. The whole deli just stinks compared to other Earth Fare locations.
