The store just calls you from the street . I came in with a friend and loved every minute we spent here , so much gorgeous stuff to look at and admire. They store pieces of amazing handmade art from more than 120 American Artists. pottery, jewelry, photographs, prints, paintings, art glass, metal art, stained glass there is something for every preference and price point. We were so fascinated by some of the kaleidoscopes they had -very intricate work . The glass paintings were also gorgeous and definitely something I would have loved to buy only if I had the space in my luggage . fortunately for me some artists come from Oregon and the store owner gave me the names so that I can look them up in my local galleries . The store owner was the sweetest lady and talked in detail about some of the pieces and artists . read more

I bought a very lovely glass sunflower frame as I collect anything sunflower. They wrapped it in bubble. It dropped and it literally broke in four places. I know what you're thinking...but there is NO way that this should have broken like that. I was devastated because this frame was not cheap. They were not willing to replace it. Won't recommend this place sadly. They do have some beautiful things in the store however. read more

Earthwood Collections - Broken frame. - Art Galleries Near Me - Estes Park, Colorado

Earthwood is a gem of store eking out its existence among gaudy tourist trap shops along the main drag here in Estes. The co-owner of my hotel directed me here when I said I was looking for something local without "Colorado" stamped all over it. Specifically, I was searching for a coffee/tea mug. I spent probably 30-45 minutes here. About half of that in awe at the amazing local creations alongside short bios of each artist and the other half in stern decision-making about which mug to walk out with. The entire time I was not once approached by the shop keeper, even when I was the only person in the store. He stayed at the counter the entire time and didn't once offer help, advice or suggestions. I was further set aback when I went to the counter and he wasn't much interested in conversation. To each their own I suppose, but the review loses a 5th star for this part of the experience. The above aside, this place has some seriously amazing creations. I wanted to buy so much more than I even did end up buying. The handcrafted pottery mugs were beautiful. Like a gallery, you could even see and feel the hints of each artist's unique personal style. One artist's mugs were probably half the weight of the rest. Another had some ornate swirls on the outside of their mugs along with a word or two of encouragement engraved onto the bottom - each one unique. There is also some amazing woodwork to be found in the back corner. The creator of the fine wooden boxes put a lot of work into their delicate construction. There was also a wood worker that was inlaying pieces of turquoise into the cracks in wood to make sure every piece of got its full use in spite of its imperfections. I left with a mug and a honeycomb-like honey spoon of cherry wood. I would most definitely stop back in on my next trek through Estes Park. read more

I just got an e-mail from the owner; "I am so very sorry you and your wife were treated rudely by one of my staff members. We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, and I assure you this was an isolated incident. I will have a very serious talk with this employee about his unacceptable behavior". The owner even offered us a gift card to give them another chance. I have updated my rating from a 1 star to 4 stars. It is rare that a business takes responsibility for anything let alone one of their employees behavior. I assumed that the person that treated my wife rudely was either the owner or manager and it seems that assumption was wrong. I have now probably rated this business higher at 4 because of the acknowledgement and efforts the owner is making to address this than I would have if I had just gone in and had a normal shopping experience. We saw this store on Saturday 5/11/13 when we first got into Estes Park and decided to go back the following day when they were supposed to open at 10:00 AM. The owner/manager arrived after 10:00, went in, locked the door behind him and started turning on lights and running a vacuum. When my wife tried the door at about 10 after 10:00 he unlocked the door and in an annoyed way said "can I help you". When she said she was trying to see if he was open since the sign said 10:00 AM she thought the store might be open, he said WE'RE IN THE MOUNTAINS, THAT DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING. Too bad, the merchandise looked very nice and we saw a couple $1,000+ items we were interested in. Won't ever go back or shop there! A lovely shop with a great collection of glass and metal artwork. Prices are very reasonable and there are some beautiful pieces. The staff is very knowledgeable and can answer questions about the art and artists. One of the few places that doesn't feel like a huge tourist trap. read more

I am definitely a fan of this store. There's a good variety of art: glass, jewelry, sculpture, paintings, etc. I love coming in and looking at it all and drop by each time I visit Estes. My favorites are the glass vases that have multiple small flowers blown into the glass. Sadly, much of what I would want in this store, including those vases, costs more than I'm willing to pay. I hope they stay in business so I can continue to browse. read more

I was there on Mothers Day. There was a beautiful hand blown glass platter displayed in the window that I knew my husband would buy for me if I asked. The tag said $1400. Enter shop owner or just employee. I would use the stereotype that he must be from NY but I Iove NY and I have never met a New Yorker that could hold a candle to the jackass that was working that day. It didn't break my heart that I had to shop elsewhere but the artist that lost a sale might not share my good fortune of finding another artist in another store outside Estes Park.
