Nice place but staff and overall vibe leave a lot to be desired. We'd booked a couple of bowling lanes for friends and family whilst we were on vacation. We deliberately avoided the 'league' bowling days specified on their website and went on a Sunday. The check-in staff were ill-mannered and grumpy and made us feel like we were really annoying them simply by arriving at our pre-booked bowling time. When we got to bowl we then got berated by the group next to us who told us they were 'part of a bowling league' and tried to make us feel like we shouldn't be there. As already noted we'd specifically avoided the bowling league nights (Monday and Tuesday) because we were just having a family and friends social night out with our kids. It's meant to be fun isn't it? Being shouted at by check-in staff for wanting to get bowling shoes and by the group next to us because we weren't 'league bowlers' was not fun. As it turned out the 'we're in a bowling league' douchebags in the next lane were actually the staff and a bunch of their mates. Pretty sure they didn't pay the $15 a head we did to bowl and yet here they were jerking off at anyone who dared pay and turn up to bowl and had the temerity to make them actually do their jobs. So sure, if you're a pro-bowler then go to The Foundry and have at it with the staff and their douchebag mates. If you want a fun family and friends night out then I'd suggest you look elsewhere. read more

We went bowling on a Saturday after skiing and it was a lot of fun for the entire family. The Foundry's atmosphere is cool (ladies, make sure you check out the bathrooms!), with brick walls and nice booths in the back to eat. The place is packed on weekends, so make sure you make a reservation! Even the wood fired pizzas were yummy and reasonably priced. They also have good beer on tap. I've literally never posted a review before. We had pretty unbelievably bad service. The shoe attendant with double earrings was extremely rude. Our bowling game was turned off 3 separate times in the middle of our round and we had to go ask it to be turned on again. The attendant tried to argue that we had run past our allotted time. This was untrue and he reluctantly turned it on again. I will never come back. read more

What a great idea! This is a great place to hangout, Bowl some strikes or see a movie. All in one place! The bowling alleys were the new auto-score types ( yes, I get that I'm old fashioned and like to keep my own score with those big pencils) and the movie had the fancy seats with swivel tables. This place has so much potential. So much that I don't think it has to try too hard to stay open. Which is also its greatest weakness. Great cinema experience (saw Jumanji: The Next Level). Great looking bowling setup (didn't play). Nice little arcade area. Decent looking menu. Well stocked bar. Here's the problem. We went twice. Two days in a row. Both times when we asked about the menus the kitchen was inexplicably closed. These weren't off hours. They were peak times. Like they had sold out screenings taking place and every bowling lane was booked out. The first time they were having "problems with the pizza oven, it wasn't working". It's a wood fired pizza oven...so how could it be broken? The second time the "kitchen was closed but would be RE-opening soon". Yet minutes later we saw two or three tables being served food. The second time we also were hoping to play some arcade games, but the change machine was broken and no way to get quarters. All this to say I could see these issues being a result of being understaffed for the rush. There were like 10 people working. With multiple pockets of two or three just seeming to hang out. (In fact we saw a few times other patrons going up to staff and literally saying "Um excuse me but we've been waiting and need help why are you all just standing around?") Now just for some context I own and operate a bar/venue/event center/movie theatre. I know what it takes to operate this sort of place successfully. They are so close and have so much potential. It seems to be a lack of desire and management. Honesty I can't believe how much $$ the owners are leaving on the table by letting this happen. We spent maybe $20 in the two visits (not counting movie tickets) and had the kitchen been open we probably would have spent more like $250 across the two days. Not to mention we would probably have booked a bowling lane or two for a third visit. It's a beautiful place and well designed and outfitted but it's missing a level of care in how it's being run. I received a call back from Mary (509-795-9737) in regards to an online large party reservation request I submitted. She called me back while talking to someone else and informed me that "the men's league bowls on Monday's and Tuesday's from 6 to close" and that she would not be able to accommodate my family. I then informed her that, it would be really nice if they advertised that in on their website so families would know that bowling was not an option on Monday's and Tuesday's, to which she replied: "It is on our website" and followed her statement with, "well what do you want me to do about it?" When asked what could be done, she hung up on me. I attempted to call back and she picked up the phone and hung on me again. I then called the location directly (970-363-7161) and spoke to Brandon who informed me that he would not be able to assist me with a large group and that the facility was owned by the gentleman who owns the rec center by the name of Blaine and gave me another phone number to call (602-531-4135) then hung up on me. When I called Blaine he was very short and rude as well. He informed me that they had 5 employees who were managing a $5 million operation and that he was planning on shutting down and turning the place into apartments. After which I responded, you know what, my family will not be going to your establishment. Thank you very much for taking my call. God Bless You. Mary, Brandon, and Blaine were all busy talking to me and other people at the same time. Which means that their establishment must be really busy. If thats the case HIRE MORE EMPLOYEES, don't overwork yourselves and then take it out on people who are coming into your town to vacation. Customer Service is non-negotiable. We had a ton of fun bowling, and the drinks were normal drinks, nothing too special. But the customer service was horrible. When we arrived we were asked if we had a reservation and we said no, but the main guy at the counter said that there is supposed to be a group coming in, in 10min, but that if they don't come in, we can take their lane. So we decided to go to the bar and get a couple drinks and wait. The bartender was not very friendly at all, but I mean maybe he was just having a bad day. We then sat down and the main guy at the bowling counter said that we could go ahead and bowl so we did. Out of probably 8 total lanes, we were the only lane that did not get greeted by a server once. We thought maybe it was because we didn't have the menu, so we grabbed the menu and actually planned on ordering some things but still no server came by to check on us. I actually made eye contact with the server that was helping the people right next to us and still received no help. At this point we were just ready to leave. So we turned our shoes in and did not receive a "how was it?" Or "have a nice night." All we received was a nod of the head and practically a "don't let the door hit your ass on the way out" comment. read more

I then went up to the bar to ask the bartender what was going on, he had cocaine all in and around his nose. I don't recommend this place for families. read more

We came an hour early to buy a ticket to Jumanji and it was sold out. We ended up buying tickets for a later time and my mother asked the manager how the big the theatre was because we had a group of 6 that all wanted to sit together. The manager was extremely rude and offered no information to the size of the theatre nor would he allow her to go see the theatre. When we came back a couple hours later for the next show we managed to get tickets despise the staff continuing their terrible service. We arrived an hour and a half before the movie to eat and get 6 seats together. We purchased popcorn and saw the signs about no bowlers eating popcorn and were surprised when we were refused service at the rear tables of the bowling area due to having popcorn. We requested a manager and were told to go see him at the bar. The whole table of 6 got up and did not order. When we went to the manager he was extremely rude and offered no assistance. When he said he didn't care I responded with well I bet the owner would care and his response was the owner does not care either. Andrew the manager should be immediately fired. The patrons around us were floored at the rude response of Andrew and the other employees. I am a huge movie person who has been to theaters around the world. I'm appalled at Andrew's response. As the only theater in Fraser, he should be ashamed of how he runs the establishment. read more

If you aren't a local... i highly recommend NOT coming to this spot. I wanted to take my littles bowling for this first time after seeing all the review from web sites saying this is a great place for a kids activity while in Winter Park. We have come to Winter Park so many times over the past couple years and love it. Mostly because of the local and less tourist volume of people, but also because of how safe I always feel here... until tonight. We came on a Tuesday night around 7. Spending a little time hiking and hitting playgrounds, parks and other things great for kids here. Then we went to Foundry. First employee I found was at the bar at entrance, then the second was at ticket area for cinema/concessions. These employees were great. I asked them what the process was to try to wait for a lane and that we were going to play games and have dinner while we waited. THey advised me to see the person in charge of bowling shoe rentals. He was so dismissive as I arrived and just shook his head "no". There was no chance for us tonight as it was "league night". I said I might just wait it out and see what happens while we eat and play games as the kids were very excited for this new learned game. He basically, couldn't be bothered by anything i said. I continued to order a bunch of food, drinks, and played games. While ordering some of these, the employees working other locations aside from shoe rental... shared how annoying this league night is. THey said, its a bunch of entitled locals that order next to nothing in regards to food and drink and therefore a waste of the employees time. I heard this unsolicited from more than one employee there. Then I went ahead and ordered our food and found a place to let the kids watch the "bowling pros" in the league. Once the food came, I wanted to use the bathroom, which I asked the shoe rental employee about, and he told me I needed to go down through the movie theatre. As he said it, i noticed a single unit, his/hers with disability access as well... bathroom, about 10 feet from me. When I asked if that was a bathroom i could use, he said the one down the hall is more suited for me. I was annoyed of course, as I had two little kids and food at table and just trying to manage as a single parent here. I used the close by restroom anyway and as i passed, shoe rental employee, I asked him if there was a manager that I might talk to. As he was the single handed person that was so incredibly dismissive of me and my family. He basically laughed at me. Then as I sat down in our booth, he was close by and I asked again if there was a manager. He said "we don't have a manager"... then called me a racial slur intended for white women, which wasn't necessary or anything to do with my request. It was the most insulting thing I have ever heard. Especially in a very homogenous environment when it comes to diversity. I pride myself on my very diverse population of friends and all the people i love and the completely diverse group that encompasses them. After that, I still tried to give my littles a good time and got money out of the ATM (which took 6 tries because it couldn't dispense anything more than $60?) and then had them play games. I went back across to get boxes from concessions and pay my tab, to find that i went to our booth and cleaned up the table and boxed everything up.... Finished games, got our jackets, to-go boxes and left. Then had an employee and "owner" come outside violently about our booth being smeared. This wasn't anything I could understand , but she was scaring my littles and I just kept asking her to keep in mind I had kids with me. The "owner" continued to hold his phone to take pictures or film my car and they both were saying things like, good luck getting home,... we are calling the police. I said "for what? My kids spilling ketchup on the booth? And they said we will tell them you are driving... which I had had a single drink over more than 2 hours while there". It was insane and she was violent and threatening while my 5/7 yr old were screaming and crying. Mind you... this is at 8:45 p.m. at night. No reason in the world for a family to deal with such insanity. Which was completely started by a lazy shoe rental bowling employee, that just wanted an easy night with the local league. They should close down for these nights if others will be chastised for even thinking about buying food, drinks and games here. There is a huge opportunity for a competitor that cares about customer service to give them a run for their money. I was shocked and shook. My kids were crying the entire way home at the way the employee screamed and chased our vehicle outside of the facility. It was insane and awful. All the while, the proclaimed "owner" stood there in silence. read more

We will never return to your establishment. What an embarrassing place to be in Colorado and locally owned. When we first arrived the place looked awesome, even the girl at the front counter was nice and helpful. We showed up last Saturday night to see GOG2, which was sold out. We asked about bowling and other activities and decided to eat and play some pool/shuffleboard After making our way over to the pool tables, it was clear after about 5 minutes with NO interaction and 3 people in the whole place, it was going downhill form there. After playing a round of pool, I walked up to the shoe rental counter and asked for help. They pointed at a guy and said he is in charge, he will help you. I walked back over to the pool tables and waved for him to come attend to us after about 15 more minutes. There were 2 male employees at the shoe counter spaying fungus spray and only 3 people even bowling, WTF. Ok, so after I get us plates and my husband gets us a menu and silverware, we wave down SERVER #? He takes our order and then brings our food out. We dont see him again until we leave to pay. He doesn't refil drinks, ask how the food was, anything. Wow, not only was the service a DISASTER but the Hawaiian pizza tasted worse than a frozen pizza from Walmart. We ended up leaving after that and not playing any more games since we were so disappointed. We still spent almost $40 and tipped, which I still think we shouldn't have at all. It was our 7 year anniversary and we are locals from Black Forest, Colorado. We ended up going somewhere else and had an amazing time, just thought you should know that your ratings do not reflect the terrible -star that it should have. read more

The worst experience! Our group of 18 (8 adults & 10 kids) went to this establishment for a fun time bowling and shuffle board. We ordered food spending more than $200 in an hour. There were two kids in our group that have food allergies and after talking with staff it was determined that they could not accommodate the allergies. We asked where the nearest fast food was so our two kids could eat safe food. Upon returning with the food we were blocked from meeting our group and told we couldn't bring the food in. We met up with the group who was bowling when the owner came over and started yelling at us in front of our kids. The owner was confrontational, rude and threatening. This was very upsetting to the 9 year olds with the food allergies, as they didn't understand why he was acting this way. We left immediately and will never return. This act is discrimination and closed minded. Do not support this establishment and the hate it represents. read more

The Foundry is a nice departure from the slopes with bowling lanes and small movie theater, however, if you come during any of the busy seasons...which is all skiing seasons, then you're out of luck. Most of the movies are sold out and the lanes are overcrowded with younger and older kids screaming at friends, families or just inanimate objects. That being said, if you happen to get into the movies, the seats are very comfortable and the surround sound is respectable. read more

This review is for the management. We love to bowl, eat and catch a flick at your place. The suggestion I have is that you answer your phone before you open at one. If you are vacationing in that area you may have to travel far distances to get to your establishment . With your establishment having limited seating and bowling lanes it would be nice to speak with somebody to know if reservations are available so that you don't have to travel 30 minutes only to find out that you are booked for the next 2 days. read more

This was a sad and terrible experience. When we got there they didn't have enough shoes in our sizes. Then we learned the kitchen was essentially closed (wasn't even 8pm) and they let us quickly order some things but there would be nothing after that. Then the lane we were in kept on freezing. The gate would just get stuck over and over. We would have to find the person and get him to fix it. We wasted so much time just doing that - and then when our time was almost up (and the place was closing in 15 minutes) we asked if we could have our time extended since our game was interrupted so much. The guy working reluctantly gave us a whole 5 minutes. Seriously - that's customer service? The general vibe was we want to close up and go home so just get out of here. I've supported The Foundry since they opened, and I still love the bar and the fact that they always have a great rotation of movies. But good lord has the food changed! I miss the days when you could get a handmade artisan pizza and unique appetizers. Nowadays the menu has White Castle sliders (seriously) and their pizzas are so terrible that I'd rather eat a frozen pizza at home. I'm not sure what the point of having that amazing pizza oven is if you could make the same caliber of food in a microwave. Save yourself the trouble and eat before your movie. read more

With times not posted inside, my husband asked the blonde-haired gal at the cinema desk what movies were playing when. It's been a long time since we've been talked down to like that. She said we could walk outside and look at the times posted on the 'big effing sign outside'. We ended up leaving. Wished the people were nicer. What a pleasant surprise! Generally, when I think of bowling, I think of an outdated, run-down, dirty-feeling place. This building was the opposite. It looked brand new, was incredibly clean, and had a lot of great options for fun. To be honest, I think this would be a great place for a family outing. Bowling wasn't cheap, but the $9/hour wasn't so bad either. The staff was friendly and because we bought drinks, they let us go over by about 15 minutes to finish our game when time ran out. This place is awesome. It has of course bowling (8 lanes), but they have real food, a FULL bar, pool tables, shuffleboard, pinball, couches, high tops and plenty of tables. The food is real food and priced normally. The space is very open and inviting, lots of natural light coming in and the dozen or so couches, high tops and tables make waiting for your turn much more comfortable than a normal bowling alley. The computers and screens are brand new, large and play some pretty silly cartoons for each spare, strike, etc. And when do you read about the bathrooms in a bowling alley being hip and contemporary? Here. They have an almost club-like feel, and they're clean! I know, right? This is a fun place to hang out, grab a beer, throw some gutterballs and grab a bite. Staff is super friendly too.
