I absolutely loved my visit to this historical home from 1935 that was refurbished. It had been…read moremoved from its original spot miles away. I learned the history of Palmer at the Palmer museum right nearby. It was one of the homes built for the colony of homesteaders who came out to farm the land from all over the US. The wonderful staff person told me all about the family who had owned the house. I loved all the antique furniture and other items that were donated to the museum. I had a great time here.

This was extremely helpful for individuals who needed some help. Several stages were spread out across the fairgrounds for various entertainment. A barbershop quartet performed and hubby judged them to be good. Fair food variety was the name of the game - hubby ate spinach bread, blueberry crisp with whipped cream on top. Several native dance/singing groups also performed. One beautiful dance re-enacted by the group was of the "Eagle". A horse exhibition was performed under a tent - hubby thought he almost was run down. That group was from Florida, a happy coincidence. A puppy show was also seen outdoors in the red section. Rescue dogs were trained to perform various tricks, amusing everyone who saw them. Be prepared to take things slowly at the Fair - it's very crowded and the fairgrounds are large and very spread out.

Tooling down the road it's easy to miss this little mom n pop U-pick. They have golden and regular raspberries in July and August. If you're willing to pick them yourself you can practically steal them for 4 dollars A POUND! They also have a limited quantity of prepicked raspberries for 4 dollars a container. Cash only.

And the MTA center does it even better than some that I have been to. They have nice heaters in the stands and even a pizza corner during games. I've had the pleasure of using the rink for two things, curling and hockey games. Hockey Games - during hockey games, I've sat in the seats, enjoyed the concessions, and watched the game. There are no bad seats and they have warmers above the bleachers. Curling - this has been my chance to actually get down on the ice. The staff at the rink are very friendly and accommodating. They do a great job setting up the ice to curl!

Valley Cinema shares a large parking lot with Walmart, and the Entertainment Fun Center. So...it IS old inside, but we were there to watch a horror film, who cares?! Staff were welcoming and efficient enough. We were there for a matinee showing and the cost of tix + concession food was noticeably low. I did wish they sold hot dogs. Most games in the arcade were non-working. Restaurant/cafe was closed. Lots of theatre rooms...all very old and worn (no leather recliners in sight) but the picture, sound, lighting all fine. There chef's compliment each other as they work together. There is a large open window so we could see the chef's working. The server is outstanding. Prices were reasonable especially with the amount of food on our plates.
