We hired Darlene in December 2014 for our September 2015 wedding. After we hired her, we…read moreencountered a sustained pattern of unresponsiveness. First, she promised verbally and in her contract to provide a budget breakdown for our wedding costs. We never received that breakdown despite asking for it repeatedly. Secondly, she stated she would contact a transportation company for a quote since she had previously worked with the company. That was never provided despite asking for it repeatedly and we had to track down the company ourselves. The same thing occurred with a linen company that Darlene promised to contact for us, but never did. We negotiated that Darlene would help us find a rehearsal dinner venue as she was familiar with Winchester. She promised to contact our top choice within days as she worked with the event planner there before. We never heard about her progress until almost two months later--after I asked about it--when Darlene told us it had already been reserved. While there is some chance the venue may have been booked, months of inactivity to the simple task of inquiring as to their availability could not have helped and I don't believe she called until two months later when I reminded her. Her response - via text: "Sorry I haven't forgotten about you." Finally, we arranged to talk by phone for a review of her progress. She never called and I never heard anything from her despite my repeated texts, calls, voicemails, and emails. In fact, we never heard from Darlene ever again. We finally felt we had to find another planner, so we sent an email and a letter explaining the situation and again never ever heard back from Darlene. While we hired Darlene for wedding coordination, with most of that coordination work to be done in the month leading up to our September wedding, she wrote in her contract and stated to both my fiance and I when we met with her that she saw her role as "full service" and she was happy to take on tasks in the months well before our wedding as part of the service we contracted with her to provide. Instead, she constantly failed to communicate with us and had to be repeatedly reminded of what she promised to do. In the end, we never got anything that Darlene promised us and instead lost money on the deposit we paid her. I cannot recommend her to any couples considering her services and hope others will find another planner.

We had an hour and a half phone conversation a few weeks before the wedding where they made sure to have all of our favorite music for each part of the ceremony and reception, and even ensured they had the correct pronunciation of our wedding party for announcements! They've been in the business for a while and it clearly shows. They made sure to adhere to our "do not play" list and also took requests from guests. The sound was clear, volume was just right, and everyone had a fantastic time on the dance floor! I particularly appreciated how flexible they were with us throughout the day. Our photos were taking a little longer than expected so we had to push the timeline up a bit, and they didn't mind at all. Amy was so sweet and made sure to find my husband and me whenever it was time for certain things on the timeline, such as the first dance and cake cutting - she did so without being pushy or interrupting conversations we may have been having with guests.
