What a cool old place. An old stagecoach stop in 1796 !!! The bar is comfortable with memorabilia around. The outside patio was nice to listen to music. Ann was our Bartender and what a delightful person. The food was tasty and hot.... No sitting under a heat lamp. They are part of Harvest Host... letting campers traveling through at no charge. Just go in for a meal. Large parking. Great meal & very friendly staff

Clem's Kitchen is the best! great experience, lots of friendly faces, the best pancakes i've had in my life. The atmosphere feels like Saturday at my mawmaws house truly. they flipped the chocolate over my milk and told me to tell them when.

My husband booked the Jubal Early State Room for a night for our wedding anniversary, for the Sunday night of Memorial Day weekend. We arrived right about check-in time, the lady at the front desk was super nice and told us all about the inn. After getting our stuff up to the room, we went downstairs for brunch, which was good. There are no food or drinks allowed in the rooms, understandably, since all of the furniture is antique, but there are numerous sitting rooms downstairs where you can sit, have some coffee (they have a Keurig downstairs), read, or do whatever. We chose to occupy some of the front porch rocking chairs for part of the afternoon, and again in the evening. There is beautiful artwork throughout the inn, if you've got time to stop and look around. There's a lot of history in this place, and if it's the history you're into, you'll never want to leave. The entire staff here is wonderful, the place is really clean, and the environment is relaxing. If you want a really cool room in a nice, quiet, southern town, come here.

My husband and I visited Virginia for the first time. We are so glad we chose this historic inn for our stay. It was so charming and cozy. The whole inn was an antique but very clean. We interacted with Tammy, the front desk staff member the most. She was very sweet and thoughtful. She made sure everything was well and provided coffee for us in the morning. We also enjoyed eating at Larick's Tavern, the restaurant attached to the inn. The food was comforting and staff were friendly. The bread pudding particularly stood out to us. We had a reservation when they had live music, so that was a lovely touch. Thank you!

The website has a whole page talking about how the Inn at Vaucluse Spring has "the best breakfast in Virginia." My wife saw this and it was a major reason she asked me to make a reservation. But I didn't know this when I made the reservation and hadn't seen the website. So when I called and the owner told me that the breakfast would be delivered in the room, I didn't think think anything of it. As it turned out, the "breakfast" was a collection of thoroughly mediocre food picked up at the grocery store--yogurt, bagels, orange juice. The yogurt wasn't event especially fancy. As a result, my wife was disappointed. The host did offer to give us a discount on our stay to compensate for the disappointing breakfast. But he refuses to change the misleading information on his website. To this day, the website brags, falsely, about having "the best breakfast in Virginia," creating the likelihood that other customers will be misled in the future. I could understand if it was still May 2020 and they just hadn't had time to make the change. But the pandemic has been underway for almost a year at this point. It could easily go for another year. And I think it's unethical for a business to knowingly publish inaccurate information on its website.

There wasn't a speck of dust anywhere, no joke, it was spotless, even under the bed was dust free, attention to detail like this really impressed us. They are located on over 100 acres and have several different properties to choose for your stay, we stayed in the manor house and we're glad we did. The manor house has a back porch with rocking chairs, it was perfect to sip lemonade and eat cookies (they offer mid-afternoon snacks too). I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a weekend getaway in Virginia (its about an hour and 20 minutes outside DC area).

They are now a vacation house rental; only one group can occupy the house at a time. We were a group of four who visited Pembroke Springs Retreat in the middle of August. Because we were the only group in the house, we took full advantage of the baths. There's nothing more relaxing than a full soak in the warm, mineral-rich waters. They offer one meal per day if you rent all five rooms; we only rented three rooms. But that gave us access to their amazing kitchen. They have fresh mountain water which tasted smoother than any city water and made incredible green tea and coffee. On checking in, we spoke to Lisa over the phone who was very helpful and friendly. Because of COVID, everything was over the phone. But Lisa answered any questions we had immediately. We were also happy to meet some of the dogs. :D
