Please don't go here, one of the barbers there cut me when they did a hard part. This was no mistake he did it on purpose as he pressed down hard and dragged the clippers across my scalp. I'm a quiet respectful guy and I did nothing to trigger him into doing this. This was more than a simple mistake where clippers get misaligned and will leave small irritation. He sits at the last chair and is older missing a tooth. Stay away from this place because they don't police their own. I've been going to Jeremy for about 3 years now and I've got to say the truth. There's no other barbershop I have ever been to that gives the peace of mind of a nice quality haircut like this shop does. My favorite part is the neck shaving he does with a single razor, it's so nice and the astringent he uses smells great. I won't lie some days I walk in and theirs a lot of people ahead of me, to the point where all seats are taken, but it's worth the wait. I would recommend mid day Thursday-Friday there might only be one or two people ahead of you, or show up 30 minutes before opening and you might be the first person. I love the quality hair products he has to offer and always buy Layrite natural matte cream. Also $16 military haircuts! Get in boys! Jeremy is a great guy, family friendly and loves to talk. That being said, East 50 is one of the busiest shops in Carson for a reason. Bob O - the owner of the original Capital Barbershop is here, as is Jeremy. Jeremy is a rad dude - and has the beard to show his experience. Prices are good - 15 for a cut, and he still does the old school shaves. He tends to be extremely busy - so you're better off making an appointment for Monday or Tuesday. After paying almost 50 bucks in Reno to have someone murder my beard I was glad to have a local barber closer to home that could handle my face. When I met Jeremy his beard was below his belt and I knew my neck sweater would be in good hands. The man does a mean straight razor fade and I have never feared for my chin curtain in his care. I just wrote to this shop because I wasn't completely happy for paying almost $40 for my 5yr old, "who wouldn't sit still" and had " knots in his hair" and the one of the guys was extremely rude to me, very passive aggressive and a bit condescending. I paid $35 for a haircut I could have gotten at Great Clips for half the price, without the attitude at that and no he didn't get a warm towel LOL, And I guess that's giving me a break because I should have paid $37. My bad. I showed them a picture of what my son wanted and instead of communicating that he was too young for a fade or a hard line, basically just blamed my 5yr old. Total lack of communication I'm definitely not going back. if your child is 5 or under don't bring your kid here, not a kid or mom friendly atmosphere, arrogant and entitled. We are new to this area. I dropped by with my son when he got out of school today. The barber stated that the fellow who worked in young kids like my son wouldn't be in until Wednesday. My son is 15 and stands 6' tall. I understand not wanting to work on small children who might squirm, but this was not the situation. Then, as we left the shop the glass door did not close. Odd because most glass doors have a hydraulic arm so they swing shut. There was a man in the car out front, not sure if he was a staff member on break or what but he yelled at me that the door was open. I turned to close it and apologize and he yelled about "my damn kid". Needless to say, we will not return on Wednesday or ever. read more

I had a haircut there before the pandemic with an older (senior) barber and had good results. I recently returned during the pandemic and had my hair cut by a different, much younger barber who was quite affable. However, this time the results were disastrous! This was the worst haircut that I have experience in many decades. My haircut was extreme and almost looked like a buzz cut, which wasn't what I had asked for. It was very uneven and sloppy. It's hard to believe that this individual has a qualified barber's license. I was more than a little upset when I got home to see what he had done to my hair.
