First time going here today and was very pleased. Have tried another shop in town that only books over the phone or does walk in's (unless you are there an hour before they open you have to wait a few hours for a cut) and only takes cash. With my schedule that doesn't work. Cipriani's was very easy to book on line, paid with a credit when I booked, they had plenty of openings and overall just a good experience. I'll be going back to see Brian again the next time I need a cut and would recommend you gave them a shot. read more

Over time, my hair grows wild on the sides, and remains balding thin on the top. And usually after say 3-4 months, Gayle kindly tells me that it's time to get a haircut. Because of fairly frequent family visits to Iowa, I've been able to time those needed barber visits for the last 2 years to one guy - Troy in Ames Iowa. He's also the same person that does my Dad's and Brother's hair. This time around, Iowa was scheduled in mid-March and waiting until then for a haircut until them was vetoed by Gayle. So I went looking around on Yelp (and other sources) and decided on Cipriani's Downtown as I was super impressed with their stated COVID precautions and a pretty nifty on-line reservations system (including pre-payment and tip options). I found this appointment only requirement a big positive, but understand how disappointed a turned way walk-on could be. I arrived at my appointed time and had to wait outside (actually an indoor hallway) until my appointment came. I walked into a very comfortable and welcoming tonsorium, with the usual community banter. And as this barber shop sits across the street from the Capital, who knows who's in the chair across from you. 3 barber chairs were operating, all exceeding 6 feet distance. Mask usage by employees was universal, although it was an odd disconnect that one customer (the only exception) was describing all his COVID precautions and concerns, while largely wasn't wearing his mask in the chair. Enforcement can be a delicate thing, but. I'm not really picky about my hair, which is also manifested by any barber having to even out my sideburns (from shaving in the shower), and clearing out a bunch of ear hair. So I usually say that I want things relatively short, and we go from there. Brian did a good job calibrating my preferences, and as a bonus, the eyebrows and neck go some extra attention. So when I was handed the mirror for that final look, I was quite pleased. And best of all, Gayle approved! read more

I've been seeing John for my haircuts for a couple years now. In a word, he's brilliant and has a lot of talent with clippers. Easy to talk to whenever I have a session with him. Similarly, there've been times I've literally just listened to other clients stories. At this point, I don't even have to tell him how I want my hair - I just sit down and start chatting while he gets to business. Perfect cut every time. The shop itself is small, but I greatly appreciate the open-air nature of it. Best in Carson Appointments are highly recommended as they are booked out regularly, but you could always be that lucky guy to walk in on a cancellation. read more

I've never seen a barber shop so busy! Nick is there at 7/8 in the morning and closing the place down at 8/9 at night. I'm impressed! And he gives awesome haircuts! I've seen what his clients walk away looking like. I would say this is the place to go. Just know he's busy. It might take you a week or so to get in but it's worth it. read more
