Disappointing experience. I found this spot to give Ant a try. Had set up something in advance for the fiance & myself with him specifically through Instagram then text. I let him know our budget was about $150 each for a custom & gave different options of what i had requested beforehand. When we get there he started with wanting to do my fiance & then mine since we originally set it with him. Then he started moving everyone around & just waved us off to other tattoo artists while he started on my man. my friend & i were waiting for almost 2 hours while the artist doing mine showed the same stencils way larger than what i wanted & i had to keep telling them smaller. I trusted it would come out how i explained since it looked like everyone had decent work. My mistake because halfway through they made it know that an apprentice was doing my tattoo. Fiance's came out amazing(ollin by ant). Unfortunately mine (betty boop by nana) will definitely be getting touch ups + corrections back at my home shop. We were all surprised at the end that they explained their hourly rate is $180/hour since i told them the price range we wanted to stay close to. Total came to $360 for each of us. And my friend never got her tattoo even tho she came in at the same time as us. (4:30pm) Wish I laid back with my friend because mine does not look like what i wanted & don't think an apprentice should charge the same as an experienced artist.

I've been getting tattooed by the shop owner for over a decade. I travel from Sacramento for every session. East Bay Tattoo is one of the best in the area, has some of the finest artisans and the nicest people kicking out the cleanest work. I can't recommend East Bay Tattoo enough. Not just the owner, but all the folk in the shop are beautiful people and talented AF. Pictures speak louder than words, so here's the latest we've been working on; plus it's a cover up!!!

Got a really cute Friday the 13th tattoo here from Roo. Everyone was friendly and professional, and I love my piece! Def check them out, they're in a spot kinda by the lake that is easy to walk past without noticing.

After calling several tattoo spots around town, my best friend and I decided to try East Bay Tattoos. I'm so glad we did. Joe, Kaylee, and Roohani were extremely welcoming. The space was also warm and inviting, and they were kind enough to offer complimentary snacks and drinks. For those who know, seeing Brisk tea as an option made me feel quite at home. The tattooing process was flawless! Kaylee did a great job drawing up the stencils and was accommodating regarding my sizing and shading opinions. I appreciated the friendly conversation as well. The prices were 12/10--outstanding. My HUGE tattoo was only $150, and my friend's tattoo was $100. Pretty affordable if you ask me. Thanks, East Bay Tattoos, for creating such a safe space for my friend and me to get our matching tattoos. We'll remember this for a while See y'all next time, Cherise M.

    Stanley the best dog ever

I recently got a memorial tattoo from Joe at East Bay Tattoo. I'm still blown away by his incredible artistry - as are all the folks who have seen the tattoo of my dear dog Stanley. My son and I met with Joe beforehand and talked about what we both wanted etched on our shoulders. He came up with drawings pleasing to both of us. His attention to detail is truly astounding Everything was sterilized to the max and even my OCD son felt safe. I highly recommend this shop and especially Joe for anyone wanting personal engagement and artistic creativity when getting a tattoo.

Randy did my Left thigh a couple years back and he was the only choice to do my Right side! Randy is an absolute pro, I'm SUPER happy with the work he did and already planning the next Absolutely worth the trip and the pain. Shop itself is easy to get to, has a bodega with all your needs across the street and definitely comfortable enough for a few hours of discomfort. Review would have been 5 stars if it weren't for the other tattoo artist just killing time LOUDLY and annoyingly right by us all day.

Joe Parker is an excellent artist. He is very creative and really pays attention to detail. He is easy to work and so professional. I will definitely be seeing him again!

I heard very good things about this spot, so I was excited to come here. A bit background, my tragus earrings fell out about 3 days prior to this visit. I lost one, so I decided to get a new set and wanted someone out the jewelry back in for me, as it is difficult for me to get the backing for these piercings, Anyway, I stopped in, was greeted, and informed to fill out a form on my phone. After filling it out, I was taken to the glass case where the earrings were and the ones I wanted only have one left, so I picked out a different pair (they sell the earrings individually). I was told to wait for the piercer to help me. After a short wait, someone came out for me and we went to the back. I got settled on the piercing / tattoo bed and was walked through the process. My piercer was nice and since we were just putting new ones in, it was a quick process. I went back to the front to get rung up for the jewelry and service (they do charge $10 for each piercing change). The reason why I gave them a 2 is because one of my tragus swelled up very badly. Not sure why it would had swelled up like that, as I did not get pierced, so I am not sure if they did not clean the jewelry properly or practice correct hand hygiene. I had to carefully clean it, as it was so inflamed and hurt so badly for days. Overall, it would had been a 1, but the experience up to afterwards was pleasant.

The day I got my piercing it looks pretty nice and she did a great job. My objective was to go for 2Pac style kind of nose piercing.

From my first contact via Instagram and then in the shop, they were friendly, professional, enthusiastic, and patient. They made the whole experience very comfortable and natural, and any nerves I had were gone in no time. This was only my second tattoo and I find the whole experience somewhat intimidating, especially after having a judgmental and pretentious artist for my first tattoo. The time I spent at Bell & Iron was completely different, and I'd recommend this shop in a heartbeat. The owner was buzzing around during my session as well, and I could tell he was also very warm and welcoming to every customer, no matter who they are. I'm sure I'll go back to work with Sophie again in the future!

From the first consultation, Joe was super friendly, chill, and professional -- collaborating closely to make sure my designs came out just right. After a marathon 8-hour session for four pieces, his precision, artistry, coloring, and textures (which I didn't even know were possible with skin art!) completely blew me away. These were deeply personal and contemplated pieces and he did them justice. I could not be happier with what I get to showcase on my body. No regrets -- thanks, Joe, and keep up the good work!
