I would recommend to anyone looking for a fun get away, without a lot of everyday distractions (although you do still have cell reception). I am already trying to plan a time I can take my boyfriend back for a romantic weekend. After reporting an issue someone came out and got the Sitting Room/Kitchen one going and said that was the only one the HOA was responsible for. The rest were to be handled by the owner but over Christmas that was unlikely and was not corrected. Other issues bathroom toilet running and bathroom door that would not lock. Issues but overall a great place.

So imagine our surprise when we arrive for a two night stay during spring break at this "resort" and have no idea where to park as everything is under construction. We finally circle a dirt parking lot a few times trying to find a building to check-in but all we find is an empty golf cart saying guest services. I try repeatedly calling the office # on my reservation yet no one answers. We finally come across another family that tells us we can walk all the way around or wait until a golf cart arrives. Well we have several pieces of luggage so we wait. And wait. And wait. Then the golf cart shows up and there is no way we can fit all of our items on, so we had to wait for a second cart. The check-in process was fine except for the rude gal who seemed annoyed by my questions, like how long does the construction go on throughout the day. 6am-10pm by the way. There is a small "restaurant" on site called The Sunroom but is only open Friday & Saturday. The Milk House serves a few premade items that get heated up in a microwave and taste weeks old and during our stay one gal was taking care of the whole place. The room was okay. The pullout bed was awful and the patio would be nice if you enjoy listening to a huge jackhammer and the beeping noises of other construction vehicles from sunup till after sundown. The tv reception was hit & miss and there were no children's channels. There was a sound machine that helped slightly. The itty bitty bottles they left us for the shower did not suffice for 3 humans. Oh and if you need ice, you have to ask the front desk. The only highlight of our stay was the pools. They were enjoyable and each had a different temperature that could make you comfortable whether you like them cooler, warmer or hot. Also, everything is handled via text. They don't answer phones, and even texts take awhile to return. The day before we were to check out I asked specifically for a cart to pick us up at 11:30am, we waited and waited and no one showed up, so I then again texted asking for a pickup. This resort was expensive for just a decent room and a pool. The Best Western would have been nicer. They either need to make future guests more aware of the lack of amenities and discount the pricing for false advertisement. Eventually this is going to be a very nice Marriott resort and by then the price will have doubled for a stay. However, our family was beyond disappointed in the money paid for what should have been a relaxing getaway.

The pools were good for our 5 and 8 year old even without a life jacket. You can't bring toys! It is a beautiful space but there is a TON of construction going on up front- parking is harder and you can't drive up to rooms/buildings right now.

The photos online are incredibly deceptive. They make it look like a modern studio flat with plenty of natural light. The truth is that it is in the basement of an early 1900s building with 2 sliver slats of glass. It's dark, it's musty smelling. Also not mentioned on their website is that it is literally spitting distance from a giant mortuary. Now for some, that might be a selling point, but not for us. There were giant cobwebs in the tiny window slats and yes, we did see a giant spider that eluded us and made our "sleep" not restful. Speaking of the bed, not comfortable. Again, this place is advertised as LUXURY. Their words. Not mine. It's fine to call something rustic or industrial, but this room in particular is being sold as something it isn't. The bedding was hot, the bed was a rock, but it does vibrate on command if you are into that. If this place were closer to $100 a night then I could maybe see this being just a weird night and a funny story. But there are other hotels in the area that charge $100 less and offer a free breakfast and you don't have to clean up after yourself. This is not a boutique hotel, it's an Air b&b. Little things: Website says bathrooms are stocked with Aveda products, they were not. Websites says to enjoy complimentary snacks (bottles of arrowhead water and 4 bags of chips) You have to do your own dishes The water pressure is TERRIBLE There wasn't much hot water at night Despite being in the basement it was weirdly hot Whatever they are using to clean was irritating our eyes the entire time. Again, it's one thing to call a spade a spade and charge accordingly. This company is not being honest about these accommodations and they are charging luxury prices. It a bummer because it's not the first time family has used them, but it's definitely the last time I'll go there, and I'll never recommend them to anyone. It's good there is a lake a few miles away. Don't have to deal with those rude people.
